  • Running with squishy shoes sucks

YHC and Greenbow left the safe space of SOT to get out and take on the wind and the rain of MOT. Greenbow predetermined that he would not be running 10 -12 miles today so together we ran to the bridge on Charter Colony which is the 2 mile mark where Greenbow turned and headed back to the flag. YHC bound and determined to get in 10 miles due to the fact that a Monday and Tuesday runs where missed kept pressing on towards Tomahawk Middle, Brandermill PKWY to Genito back up and over to St Francis, up to Manders Dr, to Coafield to Queensgate back to the flag

10.58 Miles total, didn’t feel good in the rain and had to walk more than one uphill battle. In all it took about an hour and a half +

NMS: Its always good to get out and after it with someone, while Greenbow didn’t go the whole route with YHC it was good company for the time that YHC did have with him. YHC will do this route again but hopefully in dryer weather, it has lots of short hills that add a fair amount of challenge to the already challenging distance. Starting off the day, basically (not quite) running a half marathon is not for everyone but I enjoyed it.

  • My nipples are raw!!!

7 Runners were to scared to stick around and see what Marmaduke might try to make them do so at 5:30 we separated from the Bootcampers and according to local officials this is what happened.

The route is AO to AO and back (SOT to Timberwolf) or at least to the round about on Brandermill Parkway which is approximately 3.5 miles one way. PAX runs as far as they are comfortable and then heads BTTF, most made it somewhere between 5 – 5.5 miles and made it back in time for COT. YHC took a little more time and did the full route and ended up missing the COT but catching a few of the guys before they left.

YHC wears a vest with water bottles and pockets for longer runs but in a hurry this morning to get out the door forgot to put the anti chaff cream on, hence the title of this BB. oooouch!! $%&#

  • We all have to start somewhere

8 regulars and a self EH’ed FNG made their way out of the Gloom to find themselves at the first Doozy Q of the year, it also was a birthday Q so extra fun was had by all.

    NMS:

Welcome to our latest FNG “Fritos”. The title for this BB was based off a comment that Fritos made during the four corners. Greenbow was jabbing at YHC about turning 52 and Fritos said “there is a difference between a 52 year old that been working out for 30 years and a 20 year old that hasn’t”. The comment really got me thinking, YHC hasn’t been working out for 30 years but YHC is in the best shape of his life and its all because YHC started (5ish years ago) with this PAX and this PAX has made me better. We do all have to start somewhere but starting is only part of it, we all get out of it what we put into it.

I did take some time off from the Q sheet but in the words of John Wick, “people keep asking if I’m back and I really haven’t had an answer but Yeah I’m thinking I’m back”

Welcome to our newest vict…., I mean FNG now named Arnold because his kids (F3 names) are Hons & Fronz.

Congrats to EF Hutton and Oyster for making it to 300+ AO’s this year, well done

YHC had set two goals for this year, 100 Merkins a day for the year (made it to March) and 100 Q’s. Today was the end of YHC’s Q count with todays Q being 100. Thanks to all the brothers that have showed up (like a Doozy Q or not) you keep coming back. YHC’s goals for next year are going to be run, run, run Marathon (by November) a couple Triathlons and connect with Mudslide on at least one Spartan race.

Set a Goal: If you make it great, if you don’t try again or try something different. This group of guys should be there to support you in achieving your goal and to encourage you if you don’t.

    NMS:

A solo Q is tough especially when it’s cold out, thoughts of stopping early, not doing something because its tough and reducing a count all cross your mind from time to time. Beatdowns are not meant to be done solo, that’s what makes F3 such a great resource. Accountability and fellowship keep you focused and push you to be better. Are you better today? I am better because I know that there are guys that will read this BB who were not there with me physically today but because I am accountable to them and because I draw strength from their friendships, YHC was able to do the hard stuff even when nobody was with me.

  • Three Wise Men

YHC is not 100% sure that anything F3 does on a regular basis is wise but 3 men where present at WDog this morning to help YHC gather Intel for Saturdays convergence.

Sitting in the truck at 5:28 YHC was thinking it was going to be a solo beatdown this morning. With seconds on the clock Hitchhiker rolls in and away we mosey to the circle. On the way we notice a car that we do not recognize pulling up next to our cars. Moments later Bodos brings the count to a perfect triple check number.

COP DQ’s, Helicopters, Imperial Walkers, Ukrainian Soldiers, Deadman Hangs

Mosey to the Triangle for a Triple Check

Partner 1 does WWII’s, Partner 2 does Squats while partner 3 runs the triangle

Mosey to the Amphitheater from the bottom Box Jump to the top. At the top do Schrunchy Frogs IC repeto 3X

    BTTF

    NMS:

YHC was glad to see Hitch and Bodos this morning because it would have been really hard to get out of the truck without some accountability partners.

    NMS:

No Toll has always been one of YHC’s favorite AO’s, not just because of the AO itself but because of the guys that consistently post to it. It was good to see Greenbow out and getting after it again, seeing some of the newer faces that post multiple times per week Mudslide, Heist ,Machismo and House Party to name a few (you guys are awesome), keep posting. Last Call, Snuff and Honeymoon you guys are part of the glue that holds it all together (along with so many guys that couldn’t be here today), I want you to know how much I appreciate this PAX (F3RVA). 9/4/18 was YHC’s first post with F3 and it was at this AO, thanks for letting me Q the last No Toll of the year.

  • Let’s stay dry today

The winds blew in 3 beatdown regulars, the rain has stopped but the streets are definitely wet.

Mosey to JRHS front door COP under cover

Partner 1 – Does Heals to Heaven, Partner 2 – Does SSH’s, Partner 3 – Runs to the last light pole and back

BTTF Numbers / Names Florence took us out

    NMS:

YHC had a couple different ideas in mind for the Beatdown this morning, due to the wet conditions the better choice was made and we stayed in the dry covered areas of JRHS for the most part. YHC was quite surprised to wake up to warmer weather than what was expected. The wind was a factor but not the main reason to not go into Terrington looking for the grassy side hills (something that would be better left to a dry morning).

  • A walk in the cold rain

2 showed up for a beatdown but YHC asked Heist if he would rather just Ruck and go for a tour of the neighborhood next door to the school. Heist was up for anything but didn’t have a pack, YHC decided to go without the pack as well. Route was across the street on Tomahawk Creek, R on Beaver Brook, L on Fernview, L on Water Beech turn around in the cul-de-sac and back to the school. Head out around the track and back up the back bus lot to the front and side BTTF

    Numbers / Names

    NMS:

A beatdown just isn’t the same when it’s just two people so YHC thought it might be better getting to know Heist a little better and what better way to do that than to take a walk somewhere. Had a great time in the miserable cold rain but I’m looking forward to getting together with Heist and introducing our M’s.

  • Don’t worry, Hutton will keep track of the count

Coming in hot because YHC’s dogs are a pain in the A$$, 10 men of steel have made their way out of the Gloom to muster at Hoedown

Mosey up to the basketball courts to check for ice and do a little COP

DQ’s, Imperial Squat Walkers, Helicopters, LBC’s, Hello Dollies, Rosalitta’s.

Mosey to the other end of the courts

Jack Webb back and forth, on this side of the court do one set of Jack Webb 1 American hammer (2 count) and 4 LBC’s. Run to the other end of the court and do 1 Ball Dipper (2 count) and 4 squats, Repeto until 10 and 40 on both ends. Lots of counting

Mosey walk to the corner by the school for 4 corners prostitute

    10 – American Hammers, 20 – Plank Jacks, 30 – Schrunchy Frogs, 40 – Mountain Climbers

Mosey BTTF for a Ring Of Fire

Numbers / Names Pigskin took us out

    NMS:

A good bit of Mumble Chatter started out the morning but about 3/4’s of the way through the Jack Webb’s it settled down a bit. Last Call mentioned something about making these last 45 minutes but we had the 4 corners and Man Killers on the books. We did get in the 4 corners but the Man Killers will be saved for another day.
