4 Ruckers got some pre-beatdown miles in. Over to Belle Isle around and through then back over for the main course.
NMS: Nice to get some miles rucked with these studs. Time to start getting ready for Growruck in Hampton Roads in October.

3 PAX were undeterred from the rain at HBR. YHC grabbed the Q to minimize the running but we still covered at good amount of the AO.
COP at covered drop spot: SSH, Don Qs, Hillbillies, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks.
Mosey over to covered area: 50 Boxing Roaches, alternate bear crawl and lunge. Head over to Pullup playground: 4 rounds of 8 pullups & 20 squats. Then grab a bench & do 25 benchkicks, 10 Derkins, then run a lap. 4 rounds. Over to PES parking lot: triple check of Donkey kicks, B2W, and run loop. Head on down to Jerkin Gym, with a quick stop for some Heels2Heaven and a highly motivated Turkish Getup. Then 4 rounds of Jerkins then 50 benchkicks and back to the flag. 3 min of mary and ROF. YHC took us out.
Announcements: Bridge on 6/4. Pre-Ruck for Memorial Day, 6:00 AM before the main event at 7:00.
NMS: Lot of PAX on the IR still but what a great morning to play in the rain. Offshore wasn’t a fan of the dry-covered COP and made some comments about the Q which will be reported to HR this Thursday (or next Thursday??) When Handshake is the voice of reason in the PAX you know you are in for some fun. YHC has been out last month with Sciatica and grabbing the Q to try some running worked with mixed results. Really sucks not being out in the Gloom.
Seven HBR regulars were unsure when to start since we were missing our HS arrival +30 seconds timer to launch at 5:30. Luckily the Q had his watch so off we went:
COP: SSH, Don Qs, Ukrainian Soldiers, Merkins, Reverse Crunches, Scorpion Kicks. Mosey over to covered side. Grab a pole and do Boxing Cockroaches, man on end does 5 squats then to the end. Repeato all the way to end of poles. Way back same premise but do Stripper Poles & man on end do 5 Merkins then move up. Mosey over to front of PES for Triple check: HRMs, Heels2Heaven, run loop.
Head over to pull-up zone. 4 rounds of 8 Pull-ups & WWIIs. Then over to basketball court: Lunge between hoops & 6 Hand Release Merkins at each hoop. Finish with 4 rounds of 40 Benchkicks and 15 Squats then back to flag.
Announcements: 6/4 Blood Drive – See Slack/Pigskin for more info.
NMS: Quiet group this morning without Handshake to ask inapproriate questions to stir the mumblechatter pot. Stripper Poles were a hit and were definitely Offshore’s kind of thing. YHC should have veto’ed the pairings in the Triple check since the Pinto/Offshore/Lighthouse pairing against the Atilla/Bacon Bits/YHC/Pigskin made for some lopsided loops. YHC tried to keep the pax relatively dry and stay off the grass. Hopefully the sub 40 degree temps in the Gloom are behind us soon.
7 runners took to the reverse route of what YHC last Q to see if Raintree is easier running the other direction. Turns out the whole of raintree sucks either way you run it.
4s: R on Pump, R on Ridgefield, R on Raintree. Stay on Raintree all the way until it crosses Gayton then follow it until that road ends on Pump. Pump all the way back to Godwin.
5s: Same as 4s but take Old Prescott loop once back at Godwin and add that extra mile. No 6ers.
NMS: Pinto led an insurrection with the 5s and added mileage heading back Pump before Godwin. This was likely a response to when YHC did the same thing when he pitched an 11-mile “Brocode” route a few weeks ago. Well played Pinto. Good running with Gypsy and Whitesnake. Dingy hung with the 5ers and Link was there at the end of the COP having missed us at the start. No EF Hutton here at this morning but YHC sure he posted somewhere to draw even with Handshake YTD in Big Data.
Announcements: Looks like April West-End lunch will be at Firehouse Subs next Tuesday. Gypsy is the Q for this. Prayers for DTH’s sister.
Three runners of varying speed posted for some miles before beers where several other PAX members met up at the Answer. No partial credit awarded to GP who announced the HDHH and then had to pass off because of work. Big thanks for Soul Train for stepping up and taking the Q to make sure this HDHH happened. Topics after the run centered around the Beer Mile, including Handshake’s 2021 RVA beer mile title. Faceplant was looking to nudge the PAX up to the 30/30/30 challenge but no takers.
Announcements: West End lunch group resumes starting next Tuesday. Let Gypsy know your feedback on locations.
Six stalwarts of the gloom took on the cold this morning. The Q promised to keep the PAX warm, with mixed results:
COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks, Merkins.
Dora 123: 100 HRMs, 200 Donkey Kicks, 300 Jump Squats. Over to basketball court: Bear Crawl between hoops with 10 WWIIs at each one. Mosey down to football field: 3 rounds of 30 Benchkicks and 15 Derkins. Jerkin Gym with 4 rounds of 8 Jerkins.
Back flag for 2 min of Mary. COT and YHC took us out.
Annoucements: HDHH next Wednesday at the Answer. West End lunch being restarted, see Gypsy/Slack for more details.
NMS: Some days the only reason you post is you signed up to Q. That was case for YHC this morning. But once we got moving we had fun. Handshake shared he hates Doras but with a perfect pax number of 6 it took a good while. There is still debate about what proper Atilla Release Merkins look like but it is still to dark to tell in the gloom. Congrats to Offshore’s 2.0 on his specialty school choice. We also learned Atilla’s in-laws sound super friendly.
Handshare shared that with spring here and COVID concerns dying off PAX should re-EH guys we have not seen in a while. YHC agrees. There are a lot of guys we have not seen in the gloom for various reasons. Reach out to someone and see how they are doing.
Six strong stalwarts came out to 45MoM (with 2 auditors) wondering where Splinter’s lights were for the first day of the Tourney. Alas they were stuck with YHC as Q but soldiered on:
COP in pavilion: Invisible Jumprope, Don Qs, Ukrainian Soldiers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks. 3 Rounds of: 20 Dips & 20 step ups, then 2 rounds of 25 PLTs.
Mosey out into the rain:
Dora 123: 100 HRMs, 200 Donkey Kicks, 300 Jumpsquats. Mosey over to tree line next to Cary. Alternate at each tree 20 Reverse Crunches and Burpees (increasing from 1) with bear crawl & lunge between trees. Mosey back to dropoff loop on Grove: 3 rounds of 20 WWIIs and Squats. Finish with Wheelbarrow and 25 Irish Hammers.
NMS: YHC toyed with a St Pattys Day theme but was the only one even wearing green. Glad that Splinter held off on his NCAA tourney theme as rain and soaked courts would not have worked well. Hitch and Oyster convinced YHC to take cover for the COP. Had we known the tomato quality to come out later we could have stayed and shared the pavilion. But this is F3RVA so we had to play in the rain. Although a soft rain in 55 degree weather is a lot better than the snow and freezing rain we’ve had the last week. TYA and Saab walked and joined us for the COT.
Announcements: SPD-Happy Hour at Capital Ale House in Innsbrook this evening starting out around 5. YHC will be there for a while along with Gomer Pyle. Come out if you can.
Nine FW regulars posted to unseasonably warm weather for a holiday week beatdown. Rain held off so conditions were perfect for Scorpion kicks.
COP: SSH, Russian Soldiers, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion kicks.
Mosey over to PES for Triple check: HRMs, Reverse crunch, and run loop. Over to side wall for some Peoples chair fun. Then over to QMS basketball courts: 8 Squats at each hoop, lunge in between. Next round: 5 WWIIs and run between. 3rd round: 3 Burpees & bear crawl between.
Mosey down to past Jerkin Gym – 3 rounds of 40 benchkicks & 10 Derkins. Then 3 rounds of 8 Jerkins and back to flag. 3 min of Mary. YHC took us out.
NMS: Handshake requested a light on running Q from YHC. Not sure if that qualified this am. Felt strange to be in short sleeves and regular gloves in February. Good to have Pinto and Bacon Bits out. WWIIS on the basketball courts were not a fan favorite as the blacktop is quite rocky, not ice smooth like Hoedown. Nice morning with a solid PAX to push the Q.
8 Amish and 1 southerner posted in Lancaster Saturday morning. Inspector had the Q and here is the BB: https://www.f3lanco.com/items/saturday-morning-beatdown
11 fleet footed warriors came out prepared for rain. The rain held off until the last mile, and by then we needed it with the heat and humidity. Routes were:
4.5s:
Left on Pump, go through Gayton light, past Lake then Left onto Waltham Dr.
Left on Chauncey Ln. Chauncey turns into Raintree across Gayton.
Raintree all way until hit Ridgefield. Left on Ridgefield then go past Pump, turn into Glen Eagles and go back on Old Prescott. This hits 4.5 miles.
5s:
Same as 4s but take right into Eagles View off Ridgefield and go until hit Glen Eagles. Head back Glen Eagles then Old Prescott.
6s:
Same as 5s but add loop around Godwin to get your mileage target.
Announcements: Service opportunity 2/26 with Gypsy. Charity needs help unpacking a donated trailer of goods for local kids. Looking for 10 PAX (including older 2.0s) to help.
NMS: Great to have 11 out, even with some regular runners missing. Nice to have Probation come out and post, having not run in 6 months. He held up fine. PAX seemed to enjoy the ample hills on this route and EF Hutton and YHC were reminded of the Century Classic route we both ran for the duration of Raintree. Gypsy took off with a sub 6 minute mile on Pump with Homer in tow. Nobody seemed to get lost as the Qs instructions were meticulous. EF Hutton is an official Currahee regular now, at least once he creates his own route and Qs it soon.
