Author: Honey Do

  • Could have used the rain earlier

10 or so PAX posted to run the hills around Casa Honeydo. Blazing hot and humid had most pax running shirtless which caused several west-end milfs driving their standard issue Tahoes to almost swerve off the road. Some did 2 loops, some 3, and a few more. A few smarter Pax avoided the run altogether and enjoyed the 2nd F.

Afterwards ample quantities of Salsa, Sausuage dip, and beers were consumed although not in that order. Rumors that this would not qualify as a valid HDHH were quashed when Lockjaw appeared making it official. Lots of good 2nd F and then it rained like hell.

  • Hill Run route Pre-blast:

1.6 Mile Route. Route is: Down hill to bottom of Charnwood & Melwood.

Left and up to top of Rolsyn Hill. Take Left on September and back down Melwood to bottom

Bottom of Melwood go straight instead of turning and head up Twin Lake. Take 1st right on Twin Lake Ln

Turn left on bottom of hill at Shadow (before lake) then take Shadow all way back to Charnwood and go right.

  • Does it matter? just do it!

Seven strong came to WDog for a summer sweatfest. YHC shook off some rust to Q and tried out some new stuff. We did:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Russian Soldiers, Merkins, Flutterkicks. Over to other circle, which is now a pile of dirt for Bermuda Triangle: Bear crawl top section, 20 Merkins, down to bottom of Rugby, 30 Reverse Crunches, up hill, 40 Jump Squats. 2nd round same distance but change exercises: 10 Burpees, 20 WWIIs, Bernie up the hill, then 40 Squats. Plank for 6 then down to Rusty Cage.

4 Rounds of: 5 Pullups, 10 Dips, 20 LBCs. Mosey up to Amphitheater. Debut of Donkey-Ups. Similar to DKs but kick feet up to top of step then hold for few seconds. PAX loved this! Then make way up steps: Alternating 5 Derkins and 2 Step ups each step. Finish with round of Wheelbarrows on field then back to flag. YHC took us out.

Announcements: HR-HD-HH tonight at YHCs. See Slack for info. Retreat and Field Day coming in Sept.

NMS: Good mix of PAX this morning between Neutral fresh of his virgin post yesterday at Spider Run and Bootleg and Swiper, who YHC hasn’t seen in a while. Neutral claimed he’d need to modify some as he is nursing an injury- guess he really is a friend of shakedown. BB title comes from the philosopher Swiper who made the comment when he was asked how the long was the run to the AO, which he did, as he is in BRR prep mode.

  • Everybody loves escalators

Two twin team regulars and a semi-regular Summer tour Q set off to fine a section of the AO with humidity less than 90. Along the way we did:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Russian Soldiers, Merkins, LBCs. Mosey down to the stadium. Triple check on the bleachers of: Runs steps and down, Dips, & Freddy Mercurys. Head over to visitor benches for 4 rounds of: 30 BenchKicks and 15 Derkins.

Down to the field for few rounds across: Bear Crawl & Lunge, Crab walk & backwards run. Imperial Walk(er)ing. Then head up to BWES field for: Pull Up and Jump Squats, 4 rounds. Another Triple check of B2TW and Donkey Kicks on the BW blacktop then over to front of school. Some Mary then back to flag for one last thing: Burpee Escalator. Start with 8 Burpees in 1 minute, then 9 in next minute, 10 in 3rd, 11 in 4th, and 12 in 5th minute. Totals of 50 burpees in 5 minutes.

NMS: Small but solid PAX this morning who flew through all the Q could think up. YHC always enjoys the Q there since there is so much ground to cover. Been a while since we’ve done that Burpee Escalator and doing it at the end of a beatdown in July is a solid push. Way to push this morning Last Call and Doozy!

Announcements: Hitch welcome Sausage Party tomorrow (see Slack) and Squirrels baseball F3 night on 7/31.

  • But we already did this last week

An enlightened 11 came out to HBR to see what damage the storm a few hours earlier did. No rain and cooler temps were what we found.

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks (per pax request)

Mosey over to PES for Dora 123: 100 Burpees, 200 Jump Squats, 300 LBCs. This took a while. Then over to MS basketball courts for: 10 HRMs at each hoop with bear crawl between baskets. 60 HRMs in total. Then wheelbarrow length of blacktop. Down to the Jerkin Gym, for Nomad’s sake. 4 sets of 8 Jerkins followed by 60 Benchkicks then back to the flag and 2 min of Mary. YHC took us out.

Announcements: HDHH next Wednesday at Hardywood West Creek. 3rd F next Tuesday night.

NMS: Good to have Nomad from Raleigh up to post with us. YHC had planned on some blockwork on the field but the 3 am monsoon caused an audible to the Dora start, much to Atilla’s displeasure. YHC was lucky to partner with Homer as he is a Burpee machine.

Jerkin Gym sets was probably not the best idea but the PAX knocked them out. Lots of real estate mumblechatter today as Nomad’s work fits this along with our resident slumlord Pinto.

  • Six years of this

4 fearless warriors shook off the rain and looked for owners of the other f3 sticker cars in the lot, never to find them. We did find ample ab work:

COP: Invisible Jumprope, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Flutterkicks. Mosey to field for 11s: Pullups and V-Ups.

Head down to baseball stands for 3 rounds of: 30 Benchkicks & 15 Derkins. Find shelter at the concession stand with: 30 Squats & 50 LBCs. 3 rounds. Back up to the field: 3 Rounds of 25 PLTs. Then bear crawl width of field.

BW blacktop for 3 rounds of Lunge across & 10 HRMs, Crab Walk back then 20 Jump Squats. Call time before done and back to flag. YHC took us out.

Annoucements: HDHH on 6/23 at Hardywood West Creek (not Hardywood’s Amelia which is totally different).

NMS: Small group with 3 speedsters wore the Q out this morning. Offshore posted making this a mini-Tuckahoe takeover, he said it was worth the drive for a beatdown instead of a run. Doozy made the 11s look easy.

This morning marks 6 years since YHC’s virgin post at 45MoM. Thank all of you for making me into a much better man over that time. This week at the Honeydo household has been very difficult and I can only wonder how Sad Clown Honeydo would have struggled to handle this week or even this last year of COVID.

  • A great start to summer

35 PAX converged downtown again for our annual Memorial Day convergence. Weather was a good 30 degrees cooler than in 2019 but the PAX worked up an ample sweat.

COP on Browns Island then split up PAX into 2 groups. Group 1 had Qs from YHC, Corned Beef, Upchuck, and Helix. Upchuck tried to kill the PAX with 11s on the Westrock steps. We were asked to leave the stairs midway through, rumors of a PAX flashing a security guard to have us kicked off were never confirmed but seem plausible.

PAX 2 had Handshake Q at the start then fun from there. Looked like plenty of Burpees on the island. As our tradition we met back up and found our way up to the VA War Memorial. Walk through for a moment of reflection then 22 HRMs and a BOM at the top. Number and Namorama at the bottom. Great 2nd F with refreshments at the end.

NMS: Wow 35 PAX back out, this morning was just perfect. What a great way to start summer off. Glad everyone got to hang around for food and drink afterward, although Hardywood had to split early for a bike date he arranged on Grinder last night. Great to see Emoji and Carpenter posting with this group before they move on to their new cities. YHC worries how Carpenter can help plant some new F3 AOs in NJ once the names Big Pussy and Fat Tony are taken. TClaps to EF Hutton to donated the OJ and English Muffins for the 2nd F even though he is on the IR.

Annoucements: June monthly challenge will be a Passport challenge, similar to a Summer Tour but just for June. Check Slack for details.

  • Simple for Saturday

YHC and 2.0 assembled pasta and meatballs and bread sticks for dinner. Dropoff was easy and a good discussion about gratitude with Wick d on way back.

  • Looking forward to some Ronald

A prime 11 found RVAs darkest AO to have some sunlight in the COP.

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Reverse Crunches, Merkins, Scorpion Kicks. Mosey over to 3rd lot:

THE THANG: 11s of HRMs and V-Ups. Over to secret coupon garden, a few seconds of Boat & Cano then Partner up: 3 Rounds of Thrusters while other runs the lot. 60 Block presses. 4 corners with blocks lunging between of 25 Squats, Swings, and Curls4theGirls.

Drop coupons and head down to Triple check loop. Triple was Donkey Kicks, WWIIs and the loop. Finish with “Bearrow the Loop” aka 5 merkins at each arrow the main lot with bear crawl in between. Back to flag with an impromptu BOM-COT. YHC took us out.

Announcements: Memorial Day at Tredegar downtown 7:00. Be there if you’re in town. Breaking Bread needs summer Qs.

NMS: Nice numbers, great weather, and ample light this morning. YHC had toyed with a tax day theme but didn’t feel right without our resident accountant EF Hutton out there with us. Apparently Thrusters have been added to YHC’s favorite things list to go alongside Donkey Kicks, Bear Crawl, and Scorpion Kicks.

The Ball of Man COT felt good to try again, sorry if that bothered anyone. Bodos has forgotten how bad we smell. BB title is a reference to good round of mumblechatter afterward. Shiplap’s presence at First Watch has been formally requested so he might win a OSOTW award.

  • Handshake Repellant

A lucky 13 warriors shook off the fartsack to start their Tuesday off right. YHC picked up some new coupons yesterday and we needed all of them.

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Block Squats, Alternating block merkins, Flutterkics.

THE THANG: 30 Minutes of Fun: 10 Derkins at near side bleachers, 20 Donkey Kicks on Concession Stand, 30 Benchkicks on far bleachers, 40 Block Presses at halffield. Repeato but increase reps by 5 each lap until time called at 30 minutes.

Some Mary then introduce Block the Plank to HBR Pax: Elbow Plank with block on back while other does 20 Thrusters. 2 rounds each. Drop coupons back and finish at flag. YHC took us out. Prayers for Bodos dissertation defense, although he is a lock after reading his Thesis title: “Integration of Parkour moves into Sunday Worship”

NMS: Third time around for this timed loop thing. Still seeking an appropriate name. Maybe Handshake Repellant?? as he opted for the fartsack this morning. Had he posted we might have set a HBR record of 14.

Gypsy was so excited he slowed down to stay near YHC and express his gratitude. Probation, Seymore, and Homer set the pace getting well into the 7th lap.

Announcements: Convergence on Memorial Day 5/31 0700. Belle Isle. We’re back on with our Memorial day tradition. 3rd F tonight with Florence on the Q, all are welcome. Last day for F3 monogram shirts for this round is Friday. See Slack for detail on all of these.
