  • Beatdown in the sun

Four faithful found their way to The Crucible for a beatdown. We did
COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial walkers, Merkins, LBCs, Scorpion Kicks

Start with 4 corners matching the Hoops. Alternate bear crawl & lunge between hoops. Start with 10 Hand Release Merkins, then increase by 5 each stop. Mosey over to football field. Partner up. 3 rounds of 1 partner runs to other end, 5 burpees, and back while other partner does Benchkicks. Head over to some shade for 3 rounds of 25 PLTs. Head over back to school for Dora 123: 100 Donkey Kicks, 200 Dips, 300 squats. Over to playground for 3 rounds of Pullups. Finish with 3 minutes of Mary and stretching. YHC took us out.

NMS: Great to meet State Farm this morning. He posted right as we got started and having him as a 4th gave the Q more options. We were missing a lot of the Crucible regulars but we had a good beatdown. YHC encourages the PAX to come out and give the Crucible a try if you have not posted.

  • 8 Years +1

An appropriate Eight PAX came out to see how gimpy the Q was and if an audibled Hot potato would be served. A light mist kept us cool while we did:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Helicopters, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion kicks.

Mosey to main lot for: 4 Corners. 10 burpees, 20 HRMs, 30 Heels2Heave, 40 Jump Squats. Repeato again but add 5 to each corner. Partner up for Wheelbarrow across lot and back. Mosey to HCsP. Partner up in 4s for Quad-Triple check: Merkins, WWIIS, Squats, and run to light and back.

Over to small lot. Mix of Bear crawls and Crab walks a few rounds then finish with 1 min of Mary.

NMS: Maybe Bodos posting classes up the collective group’s Mumblechatter but we spent most of the morning debating the pros & cons of Airstream campers instead of falling for the chum in the water that Handshake offered with his pending Snip-Snip news.

YHC has been doing F3 in RVA for 8 years now. Can’t put into words how impactful this group of men has been for YHC. This group has and continues to challenge/support/encourage YHC through 8 years of Ups & Downs. Those Ups and Downs will continue as such is the nature of life. Having a good group around you makes the journey so much better. Let’s continue to give this great gift away as so many more men need this.

  • True Love is a 100 mile trail ride on a Tandem Bike

A bakers dozen came out to Dogpile to find the AO crawling with 100s of bikers. With the Amphitheatre taken with the all those Soccer arms we went to the 2nd COP circle:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Ukrainian Soldiers, Merkins, Reverse Crunches, Scorpion Kicks.

Mosey down to the Rusty Cage for a Dora: 100 Pullups, 200 Squats, 300 SSH. Extended trail run mosey down to bottom of Pipe Loop for Triple check: Run loop, HRMs, & Heels2Heaven. Mosey to bottom of Love Hill, Dips, then mosey back up with stops along the way for Exercises. Back to flag for 3 min of Mary and some Burpees. YHC took us out.

NMS: Nice sweaty morning at Dogpile. Lots of mumblechatter about our visiting biker peleton of all shapes and sizes. Apparently Bodos hates Chubby bikers. YHC took the longer trail route with the June light. It is a good distance with plenty of hills.

Handshake loves Doras and said his favorite now starts with Pullups. Coffee afterwards covered lots of topics including proper teenage Condom usage, college vists, and Summer tour logistics.

Announcements: Batteau is now a Pickleball AO on Monday mornings while the sunlight is ample in the mornings. Come out and try the sport and/or the AO.

  • Be careful of the dogs licking your ass

Three strong took on the great evening weather at Punisher. We did:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, LBCs.

Mosey to shade trees. PLT sets, and 4 rounds of Derkins and Calf raises. Mosey to playground in back but was crowded. So sets of People chair, Reverse crunch, and more Derkins on side of school. Mosey to covered benches but more kids there. Head to field and do 4 rounds of WWIIs and Carolina Dry docks. Scared off the kids at benches so 4 sets of Benchkicks and Dips.

Head back to flag for some Mary, stretching, and finish up. YHC took us out.

NMS: Holton was hopping tonight with people all over the school. BB title comes from the guy showing up with his 2 dogs while we were doing PLTs. Good to have Full Nelson back out. Come out to punisher when you can, you get an extra sweat in the sun during the summer months. You can get a beatdown and work on your tan too.

  • The Art of the Elusive Successful Flying EH

Eight eager stalwarts became 9 with an FNG pickup mid-beatdown since it looked like we were having so much fun, which we were…

COP: Standard HD stuff including Scorpion kicks

Mosey over to PES for worst ever teamed-up Quad Check. Exercises were HRMs, Reverse Crunch, & Squats. Head over to Jerkin Gym with stop of Freddy Mercurys along the way. 4 sets of 8 at the Jerkin Gym. Head over to benches for 3 rounds on increasing Bench kicks & Derkins. Finish up with several rounds up and down our namesake hill. Finish with 2 min of Mary back at the flag.

NMS: Great morning to be back at HBR. The PAX were glad to have their Site Q back as Atilla came up and hugged YHC with what looked like some tears in his eyes, or maybe he was cranky running on 4 hours of sleep. Welcome to Van Damme who jumped right in on the Benchkicks and Derkins. Apparently he is a legit kickboxer who knows a damn good workout when he sees one. Credit to Tater for the invite and reel in.

The Quad check had 2 unevenly split teams, where the slower group had a Clydesdale as their speedster. A veteran PAX will make it so you’re doing the Hand Release Merkins while Gypsy is running.

Senor Frog only had one bout of coughing, which means he is basically ready to sign up for his VQ soon…

  • May day

A strong 13 PAX came out for the start of May and see what fun was in store. We did:

COP on blacktop: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion kicks. Splinter kid’s fitbit was not there so we moseyed down to bottom of Lindsay. Partner up and alternate bear crawl and lunge back to top. Mosey down to other Cul-de-Sac on Paris Ridge for Dora 123: 100 Burpees, 200 Flutterkicks, 300 Squats.

Mosey back to TES parking lot for everyone’s favorite: Ascending HRMs at each arrow and alternate Crab walk and Lunge. Finish up in the petting zoo tent with 2 min of Mary.

Announcements: CSAUP at Godwin this Saturday morning. Ruck at 6, Bootcamp at 7 and run relay at 8:00.

NMS: Best way to get yourself back on track is to sign up to Q. YHC was glad he did and was met with overwhelming support, especially from Fudd. YHCs only plan was to hit up the Cul-de-Sac(s) Sax?? since those are not on the normal list for YHC. When the 100 Burpees was called for in the Dora there was barely a groan, guess that means we’ll have to drop the burpees in the 200s some day soon. The Petting Zoo tent still smelled of farm animals but no droppings were found.

  • It’s good to know the Mayor

10 Cville regulars and YHC posting downrange at the York AO on a chilly morning. Vinny had warned the regulars a RVA celebrity would be in town so the PAX showed up excited. Woody took the Q and lead us through some stretching, then rounds of Merkins, Plank Jacks, Pullups, Burpees and some other fun stuff with running mixed in between.

NMS: Always good to post in Cville after F3RVA launched it 5 year ago. Even better to be close by to post with Vinny. YHC can’t tell if he wistfully pines for the Old school F3RVA days just when other RVA PAX are around or he does this when we are not there. AO did coffee on location after so was good to chat with the other PAX.

  • A hot potato for the record

Eight eager PAX posted to 45MoM confused whether Lockjaw had the Q or not. 5:30 and no official Q so Handshake started us off. COP of normal stuff, including incorrect Scorpion kicks.

Mosey over to Reveille lot for Triple check. All 3 rounds/loops and numbers never worked out correctly. Q passed to Saab. He did a Dora 123 of Merkins, SSH, and LBCs. Q to Bleeder for mosey back to flag and 2 min of mary. Slippin Jimmy took us out.

BB posted for big data posterity. Handshake too buys looking at Thongs on vacation in Caribbean.

  • Range of weight choices

Five faithful found their way to Twin Team to breathe in the yellow pollen air and toss around some weights. YHC’s watch died so according to OCs watch we took off at 5:30 for:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Ukrainian Soldiers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion kicks(tempo speed)

Mosey to front lawn and grab a bench. 4 rounds of: 20 Lawnmowers & 10 step ups. 3 sets of 15 Pullovers and 20 Reverse crunches. Another 25 pullovers. Mosey over to 2nd grass loop: 4 stations: 1) Swings 2) Squats, 3) Boat/Canoe 4) Curls. 5 PAX runs the loop as time. Drop KBs and head over to playground at BWES back. 4 rounds of 8 Pullups then back to KBs. Some more Pullovers and Alabama Softball players. Merkins and Boat/Canoe then back to flag. YHC took us out.

NMS: Solid 5 man pax this morning, EF Hutton came out to attempt a VGF Tuckahoe takeover of the SOJ AO but Footloose arrived to tip the scales SOJ. Stations is always good to swing different weights. Florence opts for a barbell while OC is on the Play-it-again KB leasing program where he can trade it in when he is ready for an upgrade. YHC thinks he’s ready for a 35 lb one.

Mumblechatter turned from jabs at Florence about RVA Comic-con to full on discussions of 90s wrestling. We’re all nerds about something, just depends on what you’re passionate about.

Prayers for Oyster’s In-Laws and family as well as of Slippin Jimmys family as well.

  • Sure doesn’t feel like Spring

Five frosty faithful came out to Batteau for the first day of spring to find sub-freezing winter temps. Flatline planted the flag and off we went:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Ukrainian Soliders, Merkins, and Reverse Crunches.

Over to field bowl for 11s of Merkins and WWIIs. Run up and down between. Mosey over to lake path and do various exercises at each lamp post. Exercises of HRMs, Squats, LBCs, Burpees, etc. Make way back up hill to flag. 3 min of mary and 10 more burpees.

NMS: Good to Q with a solid 5 pax. This morning felt Old School with all veteran pax. Congrats to Flatline for passing his Army APFT test. He was lapping dude half his age apparently. EF Hutton kept us moving by farting every time we were stationary an required a relocation. Plenty of mumblechatter about baskeball and brackets, congrats to the CNU Pirates for winning the D-III Championship.
