With this crew it never feels cold outside when together as a team.

  • Cat Got Your Tongue?

A lucky seven reluctantly left the warmth of their cars to begin the workout. Ultra brief mosey across the parking lot for COP. Once sufficient blood was flowing, we lined up on the edge of the parking lot.

    Working down the line…..

Pax member lunges across the parking lot and back. Upon returning, everyone does elbow planks. While that person is lunging, the other Pax are cycling through 10 HRM, 20 Heels to Heaven, 30 squats – repeating this cycle over and over..

Once everyone has had a chance to lunge, a second round followed. This time, the Pax member broad jump burpees over and moseys back and the group recovers with a sustained bridge. While the Pax member is broad jump burbeeing over, the rest do 15 dips, 30 Monkey Humpers, 45 LBCs – repeating this cycle.

Third cycle – Bear crawl across and mosey back. 20 Dying Cockroaches, 40 Carolina Drydocks, and 60 Flutter Kicks – repeating this cycle.

Off to the other side of the parking lot for a ring of fire.

Negative splits for the return trip as we covered over 4.3 miles in 80 minutes.

70 minutes and a little over 3.6 miles.

    YHC took us out.

Coffee was good and the conversation got to the heart of matters. Thanks for sharing this early morning with me.

  • True North

Twelve stallions of the new year started their running resolutions on the right foot. After Fudd recalibrated his internal compass based on the local beer shop as a reference point, off we went.

Along the lake, across the parking lot and up Boatwright. Take Edgehill to Three Chopt and continue North. A left on Horsepen and a right on Normandy put us in new territory to be boldly explored.

Upon Normandy’s intersection with Patterson, cross and veer right onto Sweetbriar. 4s take a left on Woodberry to Horsepen and through the fraternity gate to return to the lake.

5s and 6s continue down Sweetbriar to Rock Creek, a left on Baldwin and a right on Westham Pkwy. 5s turn on Lakewood and 6s on club Vista both leveraging College to return to the baseball field entrance. A quick route around the lake and the course was covered.

  • And So It Begins

Nine with weights closed out 2023 with the first official training ruck for the GrowRuck Challenge. We picked up the trail near the landing and connected with Riverside Dr heading down stream. 30 minutes out and 30 minutes back.

The river views were spectacular in the early morning. Mist over the river as the sun began to rise and various ducks, geese, and heron started their day. A tree had been freshly trimmed by a beaver with another day or so and the beaver’s work will be done with a felled tree.

An 8-point deer followed us from the higher ground, keeping a watchful eye over his domain.
