  • Its Madness Baby

    A welcoming mixture 10 P T P’rs and diaper dandees stormed the courts of Huguenot High to discuss busted brackets and cutting the cheese. Here is the hilarity that ensued according to those that care.

    Slow mosey to the cul-de-sac for introductions, disclaimers and warmups that included SSH, DQ, Dead Man Hang, Jazzercise (with toe taps), Reverse Crunch, Suzanne Summers on the left, APD’s, Suzanne Summers on the right. No complaints were heard so let us continue.

    THE THANG: Lightpole 11’s back up the hill. 2 Count Mountain Climbers and Jump Squats.

    Upon completion at the lower parking lot let us begin the bracket 4 corners.

    1st Round: 64 Monkey Humpers at each corner. Mosey the long stretches, Bear Crawl/Lunge the shorts.

    2nd Round: 32 2 count American Hammers at each corner. Mosey the longs, Bear Crawl/Lunge the shorts.

    Mosey to the middle lot for a venue change:

    Sweet 16: 16 HRMerkins at each corner. Mosey the longs, Bear Crawl/Lunge the shorts.

    Elite 8: 8 WWII’s at each corner. Mosey the longs, Bear Crawl/Lunge the shorts.

    Mosey to top lot for a venue change:

    Final 4: 4 Lt. Dans/2 Burpees at each corner. Mosey between each corner.

    Announcements/Prayers: See slack for Splinter bracket challenge ($10/entry). Prayers to Bone Thugs and his knee. Prayers to Machismo’s neighbor who recently entered hospice.

    NMS: In honor of the upcoming basketball weekend, YHC wanted to incorporate this theme. Good to see Bromance back out after his initiation at No Toll. Great work this morning fellas. Hoping for springier conditions soon.

  • Any Day Now Clark

    9 Tuckahoe Natives and 2 Traveling Regulars made up a merry band of 11 sleep deprived titans of the morn in effort to make the world a better place. All problems were quickly solved and then forgotten but here is what will go down in chronicles of history.

    Timer arrived so short mosey around the church parking lot and back up to the brickyard for introductions and disclaimers. Warmups included DQ’s, Helis, Jazzercise (with toe taps), Dead Man Hang, Merkins, LBC’s, Dying Cockroaches, Suzanne Summers and APDs.

    Mosey back to church parking lot for a variety of triple checks. Round 1: Timer runs to vans and returns to find partners performing Curbside Merkins and WWII’s. Round 2: Same timer with Air Press Wall Sits and Heels to Heaven.

    Short Wosey to the VIP Church parking area to allow Kubota to hear the answer to his question to Swirly followed by 11’s . Donkey Kicks and Merkins. Bear Crawl between, lunge back.

    Return Mosey to brickyard for Mankillers that turned into 5 minutes of Mary (core concentration) followed by brief Broga session.

    Numbers, Names, Announcements (See Slack), Ronnie took us out.

    NMS: After weeks of traveling off campus it was YHC intent to remain close to home. Good mumble chatter throughout. Good to see the return of Bacon Bits, Swirly and Jack Sparrow for the 2nd week. Also nice to have Billy Surf branch out to other Tuckahoe AO’s. Great job by Ronnie taking us out with meaningful words after being put on the spot. Great work today fellas. Broga season will soon be upon us. Enjoy the slumber while you can.

  • Brocode Fridays

    A trio or rocket pops emerged from the warmth and safety of their vehicles with covered noggins to embrace the cooler conditions of sunny and 70. Here is what occurred according to those that were there.

    Long mosey to James River Football Stadium admiring the newly paved roads along the way. Quick introduction, disclaimer and warm up that included a variety of exercises encouraging conversation at the track. All seems well so let us begin.

    COP 1: Brocode Track work: 3 laps around the track stopping at each corner for a variety of called exercises Brocode style. Mostly moseying in between with lunges called for 1 iteration. Exercises included Lt. Dan, Squats, LBC’s, Dry Docks, Flutters and others that I can not remember.

    COP 2: Triple Check: Exit the track for triple check outside the ticket office. Timer runs 1/2 the parking lot, American Hammers and Curbside Merkins/HR Merkins as an audible.

    Mosey behind Betty Weaver to some wall work. Hoedowns, Muhammad Alis and Air Press. BTTVF.

    Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayers. YHC took us out.

    NMS: After a long week, good conversation and comradery were the plan for the day. With the cooler temps, YHC elected a more mobile beatdown to keep the chill off but remain dry. Good mumble chatter is always expected with OC and Rosie. Not the most crushing of workouts but the company was great. The worlds problems were all solved but documentation was lost unfortunately. Maybe next time. Have a great weekend fellas.

  • A Long 45 Minutes

    14 Scholars of the Morn, joined by a lost FNG, rose sooner than most of their Westhoe neighbors to converge onto the darkened lot of Tuckahoe Elementary. Fudd’s arrival signaled the start of the day so off we go. According to the Westhoe Ring cameras, here is how things went down…

    Mosey to the Church Executive Parking Lot for introductions, disclaimers and to welcome our new FNG. Warmups included SSH’s, DQ’s, Dead Man Hang, Jazzercise (with toe taps), Merkins, WWII’s & Freddie Mercuries. All is good, let us move on.

    COP #1: Mosey to the commoner church lot to collect some coupons. Only 3 block survivors, so lets modify. Triple Check is the call. Timer runs the lot, Flutter kicks and LBC’s performed by the partners. Rotate 3 rounds each.

    COP#2: Mosey to the bank parking lot for Love Lots. Partner Up. 1 person runs around the bank to catch the Partner from behind while Partner performs Bear Crawls for Round 1, Lunges for Round 2, Broad Jump Burpees for Round 3. Continue around the building until everyone performs all exercises 1 time. Front Running Bastards proceed back to starting point upon completion.

    COP#3: Back to commoner lot for elevating 4 corners. 10 merkins, then 10 merkins/20 squats, followed by 10 merkins/20 squats/30 imperial walkers, finally 10 merkins/20 squats/30 imperial walkers/40 APD’s. Everyone watch Handshake complete his thrusts, let us continue.

    COP#4: Return to now illuminated school lot for a 2nd triple check. Timer runs across lot then Bernies up the asphalt hill to fence and returns. Mountain Climbers and Monkey Humpers are the performed exercises.

    COP#5: Arrows. Mosey to the arrows. Bearcrawl to 1st arrow and perform 1 merkin. Lunge to 2nd arrow to perform 1 squat. Back to bearcrawl/2 merkins. Squat to next, 2 squats…..

    BTTVF: Still time for some arm circles, Michael Phelps, Dead Man Hang. Time is finally called. Names/Numbers/No Announcements. Upchuck took us out with some thoughtful words.

    NMS: Phenomenal turnout this morning at Hoedown. YHC had been fartsacking the last few weeks so signed up for the Q to ensure he could start the week strong. Thank you to everyone for joining. The clock seemed to be running a bit slower this morning as we were having so much fun. FNG Billy Surf lives nearby and stumbled upon us a few weeks ago doing stupid things at a ridiculous hour and decided to join in. Welcome and hope to see you back again soon. Enjoy the day off for some.

  • Lovers Hangover

    Eight lost cupids rejected the warm embrace of the fart sack to the ideal sunny and 70 conditions awaiting them at the Forge. Small preparations ensued prior to YHC announcing the commencement of a plethora of activity. Here is how things went down.

    Mosey down the drive to the cul-de-sac. Stopping off at various light poles for burpees and squats to allow for some of the PAX attend to minor detours. Circle up for introductions and disclaimers. Warm ups included: SSH, Jazzercise, Deadman Hang, Cherry Pickers, Helis?, Merkins with a touch of DQ’s. All seemed right with the world, so let us begin.

    COP #1: Lightpole 11’s: Making our way back up let us stop at every beacon of light for various reps of exercises such as WWII’s and single count mountain climbers (totaling the namesake prime number). Upon completion, pick up the 6.

    COP #2: Partner up. 1 partner bear crawls up the ramp to the ticket booth, the other runs the parking lot and back down to the ramp. Switch and repeat. Only 1 time around needed.

    COP #3: DORA. 100 dips, 200 incline merkins, 300 LBC’s. Timer runs up the stairs and around.

    COP #4: Pigskin Special: In honor of the man, the myth, the legend. Find a cozy spot on the wall for 3 rounds of 10 reps each in cadence. Muhammad Ali’s, Hoedowns, Donkey Kicks. Upon completion, YHC announced a topper of 30 raise the roofs.

    COP #5: Brocode Lindsay BTTF: Mosey around the parking lot stopping at various points for 40 total reps of Imperial Walkers and Squats as a group OYO. Comment on the parking lot selection of the anxious employee along the way.

    Names/Numbers/Prayers (No Announcements): Prayers for Dealer as he handles the diagnosis of his dog and works thru issues with a new team at work.

    NMS: Great work today for those who may/may not be suffering from the lovers hangover. YHC did not have a plan but wanted to keep the group moving. If YHC were not Q’ing, would certainly be voicing opinions along the way. Luckily, the PAX was up for the challenged and embraced the work with tremendous effort. Kudos to Machismo for calling so many shoulder exercises, but you stepped up. Not much mumble chatter given the constant counting but good comradery as always expected by these SOJ studs. Well done fellas. Thank you for the opportunity to lead.

  • Moose Knuckle, anyone, anyone..

    A vibrant 15 emerged from the warmth and safety of their conditioned stallions to endure the elements presented to them on this crisp, clear morn. 30 seconds turned into 15 and so we began. According to the parked motorist, this is how it went down.

    Mosey to the courts for a slaughter start of suicides. Upon completion, let us travel to the familiar surroundings of the main parking lot for introductions, disclaimers and warmups that included DQ’s, Helis, Jazzercise, Merkins, Freddie Mercuries, LBC’s and Suzanne Summers. All is well with the world, so lets get into it.

    COP 1: Dumpster 11’s: Donkey Kicks along the dumpsters, run around the islands to the posts for Pole Smokers. Return to the dumpsters and continue to count down/up. NTB and Doozy were jack rabbits.

    COP 2: Hundreds: Short Wosey to the fields line up along the touchline where 100 exercises are performed and upon completion by 1 person, run across to the trees to await the next exercise selected by the front running bastard. 4 rounds of exercises which included squats, flutters (2 count), shoulder taps, SSH’s.

    COP 3: Circle up for a bit of Broga on the field. Stretching what ails you. Childs pose, down dog, pigeon ending with shavasana.

    Indigenous People run BTTVF. Last man does 2 burpees and sprints to the front. Circle up for a bit of ab work including WWII’s and Rosalita Dips. Numbers, Names, Announcements and Prayers.

    Announcements: Frozen Triangle Saturday 2/10 6 am launch at Dogpile. Numerous upcoming Ruck options including Wednesday 2/7 @ 5.30 launch at Huguenot Flatwater, ruck to Pony Pasture. Run miles with Don Draper at MOT. 42 laps starting at 5 am on Wednesday 2/7. Prayers for Doozy’s uncle as he awaits a heart donor. See Slack if I missed something.

    NMS: Great numbers at No Toll thru colder conditions. Great mumble chatter regarding fitness attire and other fashion trends, both top and bottoms. Strong work this morning gents. Appreciate the opportunity to enjoy the company. We are all stronger together. Well done.

  • Park It Like You Stole It

    7 FW regulars and 1 lost soul in jorts rose from the late night storms before many others to assess the effects to fine the ideal sunny and 70 conditions along River Road. No timepiece or Handshake coming in hot to provide launchtime so under 1-800’s guidance, we go.

    Mosey across the street to the front of the church for introductions, disclaimers and a short warm up that included SSH’s, DQ’s, Dead Man Hang and Helis. Lets get going.

    Long Mosey down River to Westham stopping a Club Vista. Travelling COP down Club Vista included Ukrainian Soldiers, Lunges, Karoke right and left, High Knees. Mosey down College Drive to Keller to begin a travelling Lindsay. 30 Curbside Merkins/10 2 ct Mountain Climbers. Continue mosey to the Greek Theater stopping along with way for 2 more Lindsay reps and to pay homage to speed bump burpees.

    Arrive at the Greek Theater. 5 dips at each step on the way to stage where Senor Frog was preparing a 1 man show. Partner Up for 2 person Triple Check. Partner 1 runs to the top of the theater and back, Partner 2 box jumps the stage steps. 3 rounds. 5 merkins at each step on the way back out of the Theater.

    After a short Wosey, Mosey back towards College Drive paying homage to the speed bumps and completed the Lindsay. Mosey back up College to River, stopping at the newly illuminated UofR sign for 30 monkey humpers for the passerbys. Stop at SAABs driveway for 30 APD’s. BTTVF for quick AB Ring of Fire.

    Numbers/Names/Announcements/No Prayers. YHC took us out.

    Announcements: Ruck Training for some upcoming event in May. Frozen Triangle coming in February. See Slack to participate or help out with both great events.

    NMS: Smaller FW group with many FW regulars out for variety of ailments. Hopeful of a swift recovery for everyone as mumblechatter was less mumble with these absences. Be mindful when Bodos enters parking lots as his brakes work well. Thank you gents for the opportunity to lead this morning. Always great to get out and travel around the campus.

  • Complimentary Breakfast

    A trio of trio early risers woke with desires of complimentary breakfast and fire within the inner workings of their pants. With the smells of warm eggs and bacon in the distance, here is what was accomplished as seen from the late shift smoking nurses.

    Mosey to the large parking lot to collect any late arrivals. While we waited, lets introduce ourselves, disclaim as needed and begin with 40 SSH’s. Arrivals complete, lets continue to mosey to less windy areas of the AO. To the far corner of the lush green fields of No Toll where we continued with Deadman Hang, Heli’s and Jazzercise. Continue onto corner 3 for Ukrainian Soldiers, Imperial Walkers and Mountain Climbers. All is right with the world.

    Mosey thru the woods and across the street into the Johnston Willis parking lot. 4 corners with 10 HR Merkins, 20 WWII’s, 30 Monkey Humpers, 40 LBC’s. Run the long stretches, Bear Crawl the shorts. Felt so good, lets run it again with an increase of 5 reps at each exercise. Broad Jumps replaced Bear Crawls. Warm up complete, lets hit the main course.

    Mosey to the quaint pickleball courts across the street. 6 courts with 2 sides each = 12 areas for exercise. 20 reps each brocode style. Exercises included squats, american hammers, merkins, scrunchy frogs (Doozy request), rosalitas, calf raises, carolina dry docks, high knees (in place), gorilla humpers (nice and wide), jump squats (per Snuff), mountain climbers, burpees (10). Everyone seems content so lets mosey BTTVF with some head lamps working. Cut back thru the fields with a brief stop at the bridge to pay the toll with 20 incline merkins, 20 dips.

    Ring of Fire, Ab style. PAX holds legs 6″ while each person takes 10 ab exercises of their choice no repeatos. Finished with 90 seconds of shavasana.

    Prayers for Red Card as he returns home from his missionary efforts. Come out tomorrow at SOT for a Honeymoon beatdown. Prayers for brothers in various stages of physical recovery as they continue to come out or will return in the near future. DTH birthday surprise to be held @ Forge on Thursday.

    NMS: Always good to get off campus a bit. YHC followed Machismo’s earlier path to the previously unknown pickleball courts in effort to stay dry and enjoy some new terrain. Cooler temps led to the fart sack feeling extra toasty this morning, YHC was honored to have a strong turn out. Thank you gents for the opportunity to lead. Good times were had by some but the mumble chatter is always strong with this group of men. Awesome work fellas.

    A studly pair of trios responded to the SOJ Kettlebell bat signal ready for some ground and pound. Here is what the early dog walkers and security cameras witnessed.

    Park the KB’s on the sidewalk and take a quick tour around the school to see what areas are illuminated. Stopped at the blacktop for introductions, disclaimers and a very efficient warm up that included DQ’s, Helis, Jazzercise, Merkins, WWII’s (these were harder today for some reason), Freddies and Rosalitas. All seemed right with the world, so let us begin.

    Brocode Lindsey back to the starting point. Exercises were Jump Squats and Carolina Dry Docks performed at various places along the way as we made our way back to the Kettlebells.

    4 rounds of Circle work with the Kettlebells. 1st round, timer ran around the school, rotate group exercise; 2nd round, timer runs to the woods and back, rotate group exercise; Rounds 3 & 4, timer runs the bus loop, rotate group exercise selected by returning timer.

    Time was called. Numbers, names, Prayers & Announcements. YHC took us out.

    Prayers to Gumbos friends family as they work thru some health challenges with their youngest in Nova while their father is on an extended business trip. Good update on Gumbo and his family. Prayers for patience to those traveling PAX during the upcoming holiday season with families and in-laws.

    NMS: YHC has been trying to improve his kettlebell Q game. Would have failed miserably today without the support of the PAX in calling out a variety of exercises. Thank you brothers. Looking back while concocting the BB, some triple checks or Doras would have been a nice variety. Mumble chatter is always strong in circle workouts. Todays problems that were solved included emergency health care, college applications and upcoming out of town trips.

  • By the light of the moon

    Seven candy starved regulars rose to the full moon to lighten up the areas darkest AO this side of the river. Weekend tales were spun as 5.30 struck. This is what was witnessed by the early morning walkers surveying the area.

    Introductions, disclaimers, motivational speaking and warm ups on the blacktop that including SSH, Dead Man Hang, Cherry Pickers, Shoulder Tap Merkins, LBC, Heels to Heaven completed with some stretching. Mosey to the well-lite corner to begin: 4 corners, lady of the evening style. 10 merkins, 20 WWII’s, 30 monkey humpers, 40 mountain climbers.

    Mosey up to the Field for Eye of the Hurricane: 4 stations, 20 reps each. After each station return to the center to perform 20 APD’s. Stations included pull ups, dips, donkey kicks, hanging V-ups.

    Mosey to the wall for Dora: 100 Hoedowns (Jack Lalines), 200 incline merkins, 300 LBC’s

    BTTVF for numbers/names/announcements. Splinter took us out with a quality message of reuniting with old friends.
