  • Dry A*s Guarantee

    A trio of triples descended onto the plush turf of No Toll. Q was open until early morning when YHC took the reigns for a spontaneous beatdown for the ideal sunny and 70 conditions. According to the early morning dogwalkers and the late arriving prospects, this is what will be recorded in the annals of history.

    Mosey to our usual warm up location without any extra laps around the AO and paid tolls. Introductions, disclaimers and warm ups of various concentrations both standing, planking and sixing. All was right with the world, so let us begin.

    Mosey to the bleachers for Triple Check. Dips, Step Ups while timer runs across the bridge around the 4 curbs back over the 2nd bridge. 3 rounds each. Mosey to the parking lot for another triple check. Curb Crawls, Pole Smokers, Timer runs around 4 curbs again.

    4 corners. 10 Hand Release Merkins, 20 WWII’s, 30 Monkey Humpers, 40 Mountain Climbers. Round 2: Same exercises add 5 reps each, reverse order.

    Back to the basketball courts. Indigenous People Lunge around the courts. Man in front performs 2 burpees runs around the courts and takes up the rear. Continue this for 2 rounds while PAX lunges around the courts.

    Numbers, Names, Prayers, Announcements. YHC took us out.

    NMS: Strong PAX today with the rumbling of SOJ takeover north of the river by many of the No Toll regulars. Not the most strenuous beatdown but plenty of cardio and many of the PAX appreciated remaining dry. Good to have the lights back on at No Toll, looks like county paid the Dominion bill. Thank you Gents for providing the mumble chatter and the comradery.

  • Early Morning Shavasana

    A pair of SOJ Brogiis braved the hostilities across the river to get some limbering exercises in before many had risen from their warm slumber. The call went out for Broga late Tuesday as ideal conditions were enjoyed. Shoulders, hips, hammys and back were the emphasis today. Warrior II, Cobra, Peacock and the always popular pigeon were widely enjoyed followed by an elongated Shavasana. Well done Chappy. Thank you for encouraging me this morning.

  • Poor Attempt to Silence the Mumble Chatter

    Nine Legends of the Morn rose before most to take on the cooler temps at RVA’s earliest social club. 5 am hour struck so let us begin.

    Mosey to the front of the church across the grassy knoll for disclaimers and introductions. Warm ups included speedy SSH’s, DQ’s, Dead Man Hang, Cherry Pickers, Freddies, LBC’s, Merkins and Pickle Pounders. Quick taste of Broga was mixed in to work out the groin area.

    Short Mosey to the rear parking lot to begin 4 corners, lady of the evening. 10 Merkins, 20 WWII’s, 30 Squats, 40 Monkey Humpers using the entire parking lot.

    Mosey to the steps for triple check. LBC’s, Balls to the Wall, Runner runs the middle loop.

    Wosey to the side for 11’s. Donkey Kicks, bear crawl to the opposite side for Shoulder Taps (2 count), Lunge back.

    BTTVF for 5 squats. Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayers.

    NMS: YHC had intentions on heading down to the plush fields this morning but staying dry was the much more pleasant option. Mumble chatter is always strong at FW especially with Ronnie’s return. Good to see 1-800 pop his FW cherry. Coffee was had by some afterwards, only 1 cup though.

  • No Toll Carolers

    A hearty group of 10 enjoyed the pleasant sunny and 70 conditions that awaited us on the plush turf of Chesterfields finest AO. Upon McRibs’ arrival, we moseyed to the parking lot for introductions and disclaimers. Quick warm up included SSH, Helis, Dead Man Hang into Cherry Pickers, LBC’s, Boxing Cockroaches, Merkins with some Superman, with singing, as the icing on the cake. Everyone seemed loose and ready to go. Mosey to the fields.

    Triple Check #1: Timer runs across the field and back, dips on the bleachers, American Hammers.

    DORA: Partner up. 100 Pickle Pounders, 200 LBC’s, 300 Monkey Humpers. Timer runs across the bridge around the parking lot. 1st group missed out on the pickle trusting action, so rotated some extra work while awaiting the 6.

    Mosey to the far corner of the parking lot for Indigenous Pole Smokers. PAX grabs a pole and hold 6″. 1 person does 10 pole smokers and grabs the next available pole. Switched to 5 pole smokers after Round 1.

    Mosey back to the public restrooms for 2nd Triple Check of the Day: Hoedowns, Flutters, Timer runs to the playground and back.

    Still time on the clock. Circle up on the courts for Merkin Ring of Fire followed by APD’s for 1 minute.

    Announcements: Tacos with Friends with Oyster possibly paying: Thursday at Rusty Taco? in Westchester. Fall Ruck for Food is delayed to November 11th due to Boberrys popularity. Prayers to OC’s 2.0 for a swift recovery for his knee.

    NMS: Ideal conditions awaited us in the gloom. Cloud cover provided some good light for what has become a dark AO. YHC dusted off some old exercises and tried to incorporate some singing for Superman, needs some work, especially in the singing department. McRib was in good vocal harmony. Good times were had by some with Great times enjoyed by others. Thank you fellas for coming out to the finest AO in the RVA.

  • New Material Release

    A quartet of Broga regulaars rose before many to get some early moans and groans out in anticipation of the awaiting main course. Some popping and cracking among other releases were shared by the group. A few new moves were introduced with the areas of emphasis consisting of shoulders, hips, glutes, hammys and calves. Elongated shavasana was a nice climax as the cool morning air surrounded the Pax. Well done fellas.

  • Burpee Free Zone

    A plethora of fine looking adventure seekers came out to enjoy the cooling temps and pleasant breeze that awaited them on the sweeter side of the river. Upon the arrival of the Machismo clown car it was time to venture out only to return 45 minutes later. According to the Huguenot security cameras, this is what occured.

    Warm up Mosey around the bus loop to include a variety of calisthenics such as high knees, buttkickers, outside straddle, inside straddle and back to mosey. Circle up for introductions, disclaimers and all legal mumbo jumbo. YHC proclaimed no burpees will be performed today as enough were completed in previous Q’s by Snuff and Oyster this week. Warmups included invisible jumprope, DQ’s, Jazzercise, Merkins, Mountain Climbers, LBC’s and Kimchee Twists. All is good with the world, let us begin our travels.

    COP 1: Mosey to the hill beside the school for Clockwork Merkins. We all know how these work and yes they do suck. AG for the 6. Mosey down to the amphitheater.

    COP 2: Clock Eating Dora: Partner up for 100 Donkey Kicks, 200 WWII’s, 300 Shoulder Taps (2 count). Timer runs up the stairs around and back down. Fun was had by all. Mosey to the delivery area.

    COP 3: Catch me if you Can: Partner Up, Partner 1 Bernies towards Forest Hill, Partner 2 – 2 HR Merkins then sprints to catch up to Partner 1 and switch. DTH is a beast on these and almost Bernied the entire way on his own. Well done.

    COP 4: Light Pole Alley: BTTVF but stopping at every pole along Forest Hill for either 2 Lt. Dans or 2 Shoulder Tap Merkins, alternating at each pole. Rabbits come back for the turtles.

    Circle Up for 1 minute of American Hammers followed by 1 minute of Alabama Prom Dates. Finished off with 1 minute of stretching. Numbers, Names, Announcements and Prayers. YHC took us out.

    Announcements: Sat. Sept. 2nd – School of Rock is happening following Rock and Roll. Bring out the 2.0’s for them to experience a DTH inspired beatdown.

    Welcome Red Card who is Machismos’ Brother in Law from Holland. Would be a very interesting fellow to share a story or 2 with. Hope to see you back out in the future.

    NMS: Good turnout this morning. Was hoping to hit the turf but Snuffs’ Gate was locked up tight and YHC was not interested in scaling walls. Improvised with some old favorites after too many burpees earlier this week. Not much mumble chatter with all the counting but good time was had by all.   • Misty Morning Broga

    A duo of nimble Brogiis fought off the early snooze alarm to limber up prior to an epic Oyster beatdown. YHC prepped to courts to remove any overnight puddles but the thickness in the air remained. This morning we worked shoulders, hips, glutes and hammys. Straps were fully utilized and shavasana was short yet enjoyable. Great to have Nancy come out regardless of the muck, always great mumble chatter. Well done.

  • Mind the Limb

    7 of Tuckahoes finest welcomed an SOJ regular to the belly of the beast for an early morning sweatfest. Here is what was witnessed by the Elon Musk satellites passing overhead.

    After Handshake completed his preparation, short mosey to the front of the church for introductions and legalese. Warmups included SSH, Helis, Cherry Pickers, Deadman Hang, Copperhead Squats, Jazzercise (with toe taps), Heals to Heaven, Suzanne Summers and Reverse Crunches. All is good in the world.

    Mosey around the parking lot to Ridge where we stop at the base of Henricos’ smallest, yet finest park. Beast is the call of the day. 6 reps of 6 exercises stopping at every point of the triangle and 1/2 along the sides. Exercises included HR Merkins, WWII’s, LT. Dans, Carolina Dry Docks, American Hammers and Burpees.

    Still time on the clock… let’s hang out here for a Dora. Timer runs to the light, 100 merkins, 200 mountain climbers, 300 LBC’s.

    Lunge walk back to the parking lot. Mosey BTTVF for 5 squats. Time. Numbers, Names, Prayers and Announcements. YHC took us out with help from Bodos.

Bodos is leading a 5k run at his church in September as a fundraiser for Freeman School teacher. Dunk Bacon Bits’ M at Hardywood on Saturday and raise $$ for prostate cancer. Kubotas mother is doing better.

    NMS: Always good chatter. Fortunate that Splinter was not in attendance as some low hanging limbs took out a few of the Pax including YHC. Coffeteria afterwards solved all the worlds problems. Always good to see you fellas. Thanks for the opportunity to lead.

  • Cool Summer Broga

    4 good looking brogiis ventured out early to get some stretching in the cool summer dew under the tutelage of Fudd’s astronomy knowledge. Hips, back, neck and glutes were emphasized today. Shavasana was pleasant with some mumble chatter on the side. Well done fellas.

  • Timekeeper takeover

    An amazing 15 studs of SOJ appeared in the darkest gloom to see what YHC had in store for class this morning. Many clocks hit 5.30 but not the Q’s so we wait. According to the ample onlookers enjoying the morning, here is how things went down.

    Mosey to the main parking lot in search of light. Finding an operable light post, circle up for introductions, disclaimers and warmups. At the time no FNG’s are accounted for. YHC led warmarama that included SSH’s DQ’s, Imperial Walkers, Ukrainian Soldiers, Copperhead Squats, Jazzercise (with toe tap), LBC’s, Suzanne Summers and Freddies. All is warm and right with the world. Lets make our mosey.

    To the covered patio, still no FNG in sight. How does a 7 of diamonds sound? 2 fields so lets mix it up a bit. Start on the small field, 7 reps of an exercise (Peter Parker Merkins) at each corner. Come back to the covering for 15 dips on the bench for the cherry on top. Move to the big field, 14 (WWII’s) reps at each corner, with the cherry on top (15 dips). Back to the small field, 21 (Carolina Dry Docks) reps at each corner, don’t forget the cherry. Big field, 28 monkey humpers at each corner, cherry on top. Small field (21) LBC’s with the cherry kicker. Big field, 14 American Hammers, cherry. Small field, 7 burpees at each corner. Finish with a cherry. Still no FNG.

    Wosey to the gate and pick up the pace back to the bridge to pay the toll. 25 incline Merkins. This is where we find our FNG. BTTVF flag for quick merkin ring of fire. Time is called. Names, Numbers, Announcements, Prayers. Doozy took us out.
