    NUMBERAMA:NAMERAMA

NMS: A perfect morning at The Old Hundred to run the Lucky Horseshoe. Seems like a crowd favorite, may have to do it again soon. A little mumble chatter on the length of that lap but we got it done. Well done boys, thanks for letting me lead. Looking forward to checking out The Alamo on Monday.

    Announcements:

  • π

A dirty dozen came to run or walk this morning. The route was out the batcave to Westham Station, ascend the hill to River to pick up Westham Pkwy. A right on Glen Pkwy to Keller and then pick up Westhampton Way and UR Drive to the AO. That takes you to 3.12 miles, which is close enough for this group to π.

6s do that route a second time. 4s/5s do the ascent up to the main entrance and down the other side and back to the AO. 4s do it once. 5s do it twice.

    YHC took us out.

  • Picture, or it didn’t happen

YHC covered hospital call for the second time yesterday (Mon), and it was a tough day, but thankfully the the last call was around midnight, so YHC got a solid 5 hours of sleep. Having committed to the rest of Station that YHC would be present at Ground Zero every Tue/Thur/Sat during our short stay, there was no question about posting this AM. As it would turn out, recently named Quadfather was feeling sick, so YHC had a 45min solo sweatfest, as follows:

WARMERAMA: Various combination of IC warmup exercises with moving warmup exercises. 5 minutes in and already out of breath – this altitude is for real!

THE THANG – x3 Rounds of the following:

    • Station 1 – Variable Upper Body exercises – such as alternating incline merkins and dips on the swinging chain fence, burpee broad jumps, polar bears, walking Lt Dan’s, etc
    • Station 2 – Mosey to the covered area for abb work – pole smokers, variable type LBC’s, WWII’s, etc
    • Station 3 – run down long gravel/stone road (watch your step or break your ankles) to the bottom, complete variable reps (burpees, opus, groiners, etc), then run back to the top to start over

6MOM, then Solo Number, Name, and COT with some powerfully Spirit-led prayer for the unknown challenges ahead.

NMS: It was the perfect way to start a new day, even if solo. What a blessing to be here, to have the strength of body and self-discipline to kick my own tail. Also the time afforded YHC an opportunity to reflect on some of the wild medical diagnoses faced in the ER and hospital, and the heartache of having to pray multiple times a day with people dying, or the parents of those babies who are dying. The motto of the hospital is “We treat, Jesus heals”. Every time YHC is here, it takes time to fond peace in this chaos, and trust Jesus to do the most important kinds of healing. Also during the workout, YHC affirmed the resolution to post every Tue/Thur/Sat, even if sleep-deprived post-call. There are few stronger testimonies than that of reliability. Also concluded the Solo-Q Rule #1 = remain close to the start point for potential late-comers, and Rule #2 = remain visible to main throughways to invite potential FNG’s. YHC got two headlocks this AM for possible attendance Thursday. Brothers reading this, thank you. Please keep praying for the Lord to work through me here, whether that’s in the gloom or in the hospital. Yours, DTH

  • DaVille Rain Day workout

YHC was hopeful for some F3 brothers showing up for this wet and rainy morning when pulling into lot with no vehicles. Soon Opus rolls in and Bulkhead short after for a nice 3man workout this morning so here is what went down:

    COP

    20 SSH, 10 DQ, 15 Arm circles (10 small 5 big), 11 LBC’s 10 2 count flutter kicks and recover.

    THANG

So iPhone in hand had the Tabata app open for a 25 minute routine with 8 cycles of 5 sets of 20 seconds exercise and 20 seconds rest. We did the following exercises, Hand release merkins, crunchy frog, Sumo Squats, Derkins, ABC Box cutters (legs together), Monkey Humpers, Overhead claps.

Mosey to Bus loop for leg crusher triple check. P1 – Runs lap on inner loop as timer, P2 Step ups(SU) on Bench and P3 Alternating Lunges(AL). Rotate P1 – SU, P2 AL’s and P3- runs lap. Rotate P3 – SU, P2 – AL and P1 Runs lap to complete the first set. Rinse repeat 2 more sets for a triple check.

Run back to parking lot and finish at 45 minutes.

Numberama, Namerama Opus took us out in prayer.

  • Pedestrians (mostly)

Three posted for the most recent Punisher. Relocate from the parking lot to the side of Holton school for COP with SSHs, Hillbillies, DQs, Helicopters, Merkins, Freddie Mercuries, and Arm Circles. Mosey around the school to the outdoor classroom for a Dip Tabata – eight rounds over four or so minutes. Jog to a concrete pad adjacent to the back of the school for alternating Jump Squats and Squats in the squares on the perimeter of the pad. Move to the nearby wooden picnic tables, alternating Incline Merkins and Bench Kicks on each table side. Following departure of a few kids properly using the swings, relocate to the swingset for a few rounds of Jerkins. Mosey back around the school building in the direction we came and pause at a well-lit brick wall where one guy holds Balls to the Wall for a count while the others hold People’s Chair and taking turns for a few rounds of the same. Stretch for the final few minutes and COT in place.

  • Avoid the Suck

A full house hand of Aces and Jokers fought off the comfort and dryness of the fart sack to embrace the damp and cooler conditions of Tuckahoes darkest AO. Daylight savings would not hold these fine gents back. This is what was rumored to have occurred according to the safety cone placement specialist.

Short Mosey over to the covered office park pavilion. Salutations and introductions ensued followed by quick warm up of SSH’s, Helis, Dead Man Hang, LBC’s, Dying Cockroaches, Suzanne Summers and light stretching. All seemed warm short mosey to the rear church lot

    THE THANG:

Church Lot 11’s: 10 Lt Dans at far end, 1 curbside merkin at the near end. 9/2, 8/3…. Good times had by all.

Burpee Alley: Short mosey over to Silverspring Drive. As we wandered down the street brocode style, lets stop at every vehicle for an exercise: SUV = 1 burpee, car = 1 merkin, truck = 1 squat. Double the count if vehicle is parked on the street. Lots of SUVs. Continue this across Forest Avenue past EHarmony’s house and onto Paris Ave/Hepler Rd. Modify to SUV = Imperial Walkers (2 count), Car = Mountain Climbers (2 count), Truck = Monkey Humpers. Double the count for road vehicles.

Quintuple Check: Upon arriving back at the school, quick 2 rounds of 5 exercises along the bus loop. Timer runs the loop. Exercises included Balls to the Wall, Peoples Chair, LBC’s & APD’s.

BTTF for numbers, names, announcements. YHC took us out.

    Announcements:

Splinter is running a March Madness Bracket. $10 gets you in, see slack for details.

Tuckahoe Lunch Crew meeting on Tuesday at Firehouse at noon. See Pigskin for deets.

NMS: This morning was tough. Wet, cool and dark. Great turn out considering the conditions. Showcase is in town from Bristol, VA for training all week and might show up at AO’s around the regions (specifically SOJ). Word of the day was to stay dry, and was mostly accomplished. Conditions were misty but not unbearable. Thank you gents for showing up on the truly gloomy morn.

  • What’s that noise??

A party of 1 arrived at Batteau. Ready to take on the morning. No dog walkers or even a sketchy car idling on the side of the road to witness. No witnesses. Here’s what went down.

  • OTB for 1 – dark, cold and early

Well, YHC said F Daylight Savings Time and posted to OTB. DST and travel wiped out the rest of the PAX. No problem. I get to dictate the pace and do my own thing…great. I got off to a good start with a 9:30 first mile, but then all went to shit when two negative splits lead to an internal challenge to have 5 negative splits. And an 8:17 sixth mile completed the challenge. So much for controlling the pace and an easy 6. Wonderful sunrise on the way back across the river. A great morning!
