  • Blame It On the Rain

2 Davillian Ruckers and 2 Runners embrace the suck of the rainy and 34 gloom to get in their miles

The Ruckers can blame the rain for getting turnaround to get some extra credit in for 4.8 miles

The Runners can blame the rain for doing a run/walk instead of a full run to get in 3.2 miles

The rest of the PAX can blame the rain for staying in their fartsacks

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • A walk in the cold rain

2 showed up for a beatdown but YHC asked Heist if he would rather just Ruck and go for a tour of the neighborhood next door to the school. Heist was up for anything but didn’t have a pack, YHC decided to go without the pack as well. Route was across the street on Tomahawk Creek, R on Beaver Brook, L on Fernview, L on Water Beech turn around in the cul-de-sac and back to the school. Head out around the track and back up the back bus lot to the front and side BTTF

    Numbers / Names

    NMS:

A beatdown just isn’t the same when it’s just two people so YHC thought it might be better getting to know Heist a little better and what better way to do that than to take a walk somewhere. Had a great time in the miserable cold rain but I’m looking forward to getting together with Heist and introducing our M’s.

    • YHC took the PAX out in Prayer

NMS:  Florence was expecting Buffalo Bill to saunter into the gloom circle, but alas it was just YHC once again bejeweled with holiday cheer, AKA jingle bells on the shoe laces. But the PAX hardly had a moment to revel as the slaughter start stole away the mumble chatter and got our blood pumping. Can’t have the PAX getting cold! YHC was amused to introduce some of the newer PAX to a few old favorites, and it was awesome to have Big Rig join us at a “normal” hour! Keeping posting fellas!!! SYITG, DTH

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

HDHH at Final Gravity Brewing Co. in Lakeside starting at 6

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • Field Trip to Jenkins

8 HIM swallowed the red pill and posted at First Watch seeking a better version of themselves. Here’s what transpired:

COP at the NE corner of the parking lot to wait for any stragglers:

SSH’s, Imperial Walkers, Ukranian Soldiers, Merkins, Copperhead Squats

Mosey down River to a left on Westham. Assume plank position in front of #2 Westham Parkway for 86 seconds to honor the life of Fred Dabney, known to several PAX, who passed a few days ago and who’s funeral was yesterday. Fred lived 86 years on this earth and lived them big.

Mosey to the UR campus and over to the bottom of the Jenkins Greek Theater

Ascending the steps, do 1 merkin on the first step, 2 WW2’s on the second, 3 merkins on the third, 4 WW2’s on the 4th, etc. all the way to the top (17th step) and Al Gore for the six. Descend in the same fashion starting with 17 2 count Mountain Climbers, then 16 squats. Plank for the 6.

Mosey down Westhampton Way, past the fountain in front of the Booker Hall of Music, to partner up on the bricks in front of Keller Hall for Dora 1-2-3. One partner runs the triangle in the quad while the other does 100 merkins, 200 squats, & 300 LBC’s.

Mosey back to the VSF. Plank for the 6. 1 burpee for each PAX. Numberama, namerama, Handshake took us out.

    NMS:

Lockjaw was supposed to Q today but he bailed last minute with symptoms of some sickness. YHC was not prepared with Christmas gifts but was able to throw together a field trip beatdown that at least got everyone breathing hard. In lieu of gifts, YHC treated the PAX to coffee/tea at Starbucks afterwards. Thanks for letting me lead guys. It’s an honor and a pleasure every time.

Merry Christmas to all, and never stop chasing the Wabbit!

    Fudd

    Announcements:

    • HDHH at Final Gravity (in Lakeside) tonight
    • TYA has the Q at the Bridge this weekend. Several PAX will be driving up. Watch Slack for updates on rally points and times if you want to catch a ride.
    • Dogpile this Saturday will feature a Honeydo Q and a spread of “1 Hit Wonder” exercises that have been attempted through the years and promptly discarded (ex, Bridge of Hate)
    • Frozen Triangle CSAUP in January
  • Why are those lights Purple?

Nine PAX found themselves on the Naughty list and were not greeted with 12 days of Rosie fun. Instead we had a good time watching Roscoe chase us around then:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Helicopters, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Reverse Crunches, Scorpion kicks.

Head over to tennis courts. Cross courts with stops midway of: Bear Crawls & merkins, Crab walks & Heels2Heaven, Lunge & jump squats, Side lunge & Monkey humpers. Mosey over to Heartbreak hill for main course: 5 Burpees at top, down heartbreak hill for 5 more burpees. Repeato until 45 burpees.

Mosey to outfield of baseball field for 3 rounds of 20 PLTs. Back down to Jerkin Gym for 4 rounds of 8 Jerkins. Break onto football field for a sprint with merkins and WWIIs along way. Finish up with an Offshore request of Donkey Kicks so DKs and pullups on goalpost. Back to flag and done. Atilla kindly took us out.

NMS: Good mix of PAX for YHC’s birthday Q while Rosie laid down his annual tradition of 12 days. Roscoe made things fun and YHC was happy to keep us well away from the road so he could join in the mix. BB title came from Mr. Holland who asked the eternal HBR question while we were moseying after the COP. It was good to see him back at HBR as one of the founding members of the AO. Kubota made a rare Tuesday morning post so we had to hit the Jerkin Gym for him. Thanks for all the birthday well wishes and YHC cannot express enough how much the PAX support has carried him this year. God bless this brotherhood and you all!

  • Harmonizing in the Gloom

A fearless 29 appeared in the darkness of NoToll for the 8th annual edition of the F3RVA 12 Days of Christmas. YHC may not be getting a Christmas card from any of the PAX in attendance after that beatdown but that’s ok, I know where I stand in their hearts.

Big circle for the warm up with lots of chatter – 12 of each SSH, Helicopters, Imperial Walkers, Shoulder Taps.

Main Event – 1 Dozen LBC, 2 Field Sprints,; 3 Diamond Merkins, 4 Imperial Squat Walkers, 5 Burpees, 6 Carolina Dry Docks, 7 Ball Dippers, 8 Hand Release merkins, 9 American Hammers IC, 10 Freddie Mercurys IC, 11 Crunchy Frogs IC, 12 Broad Jump Burpees.

Oyster warned me that he wanted the full 45 minutes that he paid for so we packed into the parking lot as more of an oval for the last 3 minutes of Mary.

Great morning to be out on the plush yet slightly frozen fields of NoToll and good to see a few bare knees for the SOP strong crew. I know Honeydo was supporting the SOP cause on his birthday across town. The caroling got a little off sync about halfway through but the PAX got back on track quickly for the remaining rounds. A few new options for rounds 6-8 kept the PAX on their toes. Great to have Circle K make the trek SOJ to represent DaVille. Flatline showed off his military training and agility flipping over Circle K and deftly avoiding taking out the Q with a smooth tuck and roll. The Woke Panther was shining bright with his rainbow lights. Our local giant, Gomer Pyle, showed out in the team photo this morning, according to Tryhard that’s how you position a deer (or anything else) to make it look bigger. (Note to self for future photos?) I hope everyone is as energized as I am after this morning. Grateful for this group and for all of the blessings we have this season.

    Merry Christmas gentlemen.

    Everything is coming up Rosie.

The Bridge on Saturday. You don’t have plans on Christmas Eve morning. No one thinks you have plans. You don’t even think you have plans. So, do a great thing for others, and visit the imprisoned. Push your comfort zone.

    NMS:

YHC turned 50 yesterday with all of the accompanying consumption one might enjoy (YHC didn’t notice the slow service , squabbling teenagers, or the heavy rain). Just enjoyed the evening. But, no rest for the weary, and no time like the present. So, up at 4:00 local time and this horse entered the paddock by 4:25 to start getting back on the horse.
YHCs M was already up and scouting the weather kind enough to insist on offer a headlamp. YHC got just outside the hotel, realized he was well away from any light pollution, and declared “amateur hour” on the headlamp quality. This place is so dark it makes BRR look like Manhattan. (YHC has now decided to buy the M a headlamp for Christmas.)

Based on the incredible storms last night and this morning, YHC assumed Mr. Rogers had the Q, then found himself alone at game time. C’est la guerre. Luckily, a brief weather interlude arrived. Thankfully, the wind stayed, leaving YHC comfortably cooled by the breeze and free to expel last night’s toxins while enjoying the dawning of a new half century.

    Mission accomplished.

    UpChuck spits the bit.
