  • Currahee Comet

7 fearless studs emerged from the gloom to shake off last nights beer induced cloud and attack the day on a crisp cool morning.

5ers – West on Ridgefield to Pine Run, traverse through Gayton ES, East on Church to Pump and return

4ers  – West Ridgefield to Copperas to church, or whatever feels good.

    Probation took us out.

Prayers for EF Hutton as he recovers.

NMS – great morning and maybe the last cool morning for Currahee. Some of the PAX caught an object breaking up in the atmosphere. We think it was part of the spaceX launch. What was really neat is that we were heading due east on Church Road and it was in line with the road (rather far away) in the perfectly clear blue pre sunrise sky and framed by the dark trees on the left and right.  We might have caught MICO stage separation, and second engine start.  YHC worked at NASA and has seen plenty of video from behind the spacecraft.  This is the first time we had an oblique view – pretty cool.  Nice Respect Day present.

YHC is starting the 5th year with F3.  What a great brotherhood.  Your mission is to bring one more to the brotherhood this year.

    Currahee!

  • Stay Positive My Friends

The air was cold, the owl was hooting, and the time was right for another exercise adventure………Twin Team style. To the best of my knowledge, this is what transpired.

Mosey to the front of BWES for Warm-Up:

Mosey to Twin Team Road/Hill for Exercise Two:
Run up the hill, 2 burpees at each driveway.
Run down, 5 WWII sit ups at each driveway.

-Wilson’s wife for some recovery. Mosey to the James River High field hockey field.

    Exercise Three: Triple Check
-Lunge Walk across the field, run back.
    -Flutter kicks
    -Plank Shoulder taps

Back to the flag for numbers and names.

Announcements: Blood drive coming up. Relay in Hanover this weekend.
    YHC took us out.

Final Observations: It’s been awhile since I made it up Twin Team hill – that thing is a beast! Great performances by the PAX this morning. In typical fashion, Doozy dusted us going up the hill. Very impressed with Crash Test Dummy – 18 years old and posting multiple times per week. Respect to you both.

In front of BWES there is a large boulder that says “Stay Positive.” I shamelessly used that as the theme of the workout and title of the backblast.

    Make it a great one!

  • Rocketman

    Warm-up

Triple check (curls, jerkins, runner doing a burpee suicide in parking lot)

Run to top of Satan’s Hill, halfway down, back up, halfway down, back up. Flutter kicks watching the SpaceX rocket which was awesome.

Back down the hill for some curls, and more curls, and some more curls.

Finished off with some ab work.

Good luck to all who are participating in Spit’s run-a-thon thingy tomorrow.

  • Was that you or your dog?

It was actually neither of us. Just the bouquet of smells emanating from the city streets around the stadium.

How we got there? The Carillon Route of course.

    YHC took us out.

  • Loop #2

4 Davillians came out on cold spring morning to get another test run before the relay on Saturday

    • BONE THUGS took the PAX out in Prayer

    NMS:

    • Crisp morning for some Forge regulars to do things the hard way. YHC admits to some last minute planning so the modified Dirty McDeuce was a wee bit confusing, but da boyz nailed it anyway. Frisbee fifties a great way to finish, right up until YHC attempted a final hurl to the flag, and the frisbee instead caught on rubberized finger tips, sailing high and left into the poison ivy on the other side of the fence… which is where it will stay for the next 10,000 years it takes to decompose… Always a pleasure to roll deep with the Forge HIM’s. SYITG, DTH

  • My first 45

The gloom chill was back for a 34 degree start to 45MOM and 15 dudes gathered to kick off a Thursday. Here’s how it went:

Mosey around the school to the tennis courts for a warmup: 20xSSH, DMH, 10x cherry pickers, 20xIW’s, 20xLBC, 10xHRM, 10x pickle pounders (side to side), plank & recover.

Gather at the center of the field for an earth day tribute edition of touch a tree, 4 rounds: 2 trees + Tony Hawk Burpees, 4 trees + Rosalitas, 6 trees + Carolina Dry Docks, 8 trees + Copperhead Squats. Alphabet spell earth day for the six.

Mosey to the monkey bars for a modified ring of fire with 10x merkins + 5x pull ups, 2x through followed by some time traversing the tennis courts, lunge, polar bear, jog and Bernie.

Headed to the USA map lot for a big Dora: 50x big boy sit ups, 100x box cutters, 150x SSH’s while partners run across to the fence & Bernie back x2. Plank for the six. Mosey back to the flag, TYA chose 20 so we finished up with 20 American Hammers.

Numberama, Namerama, Announcements (EF opportunity on Slack, PR for Bleeder’s nephew) and YHC took us out.

Great work today gents – a pleasure to Q for the first time at Mary. Despite the flack, the Tony Hawks were worth it. Until next time. GP
