  • Freezing Loops

A lone wolf headed out for run on this icy morning for a short run.

YHC got a text from Corned Beef at 5:20 that he wouldn’t be able to make it and if he could take the Q. YHC was already on the way and was happy to fill in.

Turns out it ended up being a solo day. Route was two loops around Bojangles and added two loops around the parking lot of the library and shopping center. Total distance just over a 5k.

Hopefully some better weather will get the rest of PAX out again soon!

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • DOUBLEHARD

A dynamic duo didn’t succumb to the weatherman’s lies, and posted to the Forge to snuff out the flame of sloth and embrace the suck of self-discipline. Here’s what spontaneity produced:

    The THANG:

    THE DESCENT:

    • x10 Lunges ea light pole down to the culdesac

    CULDESAC MINI COP:

    • SSH, DQ’s, SquatWalkers

    THE ASCENT:

    • x3 Burpees ea light pole going back up, alternating Run, Bernie, Caraoke, or Bear crawl between poles

    ELEVENS:

    • Between bus loop curbs
    • 2-Count Am Hams
    • Lt Dans
    • Lunge or Bearcrawl between sides

    MARY’s BOUDOIR:

    • Under the dry awning of the Middle School
    • DORA:
    • x100 WWII
    • x200 Pole Smokers
    • x300 Mtn Climbers
    • Moving partner uses the picnic table to complete x10 Dips and x10 Derkins (later switched to incline merkins)

    COT:

    • Counterama #2 + Cooper
    • Namerama
    • Announcerama (see Comments)
    • YHC took the PAX out in Prayer

    NMS:

    • With the big ice storm predictions, YHC was anticipating a solo workout with Cooper, but Doublemint saved the day. YHC had completed a similar routine on Sunday AM having missed Dogpile, but Doublemint was handy with some painful augmentations. Mary’s Boudoir has proven useful once again as a dry spot during inclement weather, and today’s blustery freezing rain was certainly worthwhile escaping from. SYITG, YHC, DTH
  • Welcome Back

Into the frozen gloom, 5 met up to burn off the fat. All were happy to see Gypsy back in the Pax for the start of the clawing back to machine condition.

Each person completing 80 merkins and many of the others. Up and roll out, times a wasting and miles to cover. ran up towards Broad street and made our way through parking lots dreaming about stopping for bagels, donuts, biscuits and parking our 6s in some Lazy boys. Passed an unfriendly fella who didn’t return the Good Morning. Continues the run back to the flag to completed 3.73 miles of distance. 10 punitive Burpees for Mr Grumpy’s silence, circle-rama. Announcements, prayer concerns: several mentions of those with health concerns, recent passing and eminent deaths. God speed and grace to those in need(all of us). Pinto closed us outbin prayer.

PS Kudos to Gypsy for finishing the run with the group. I would have had to take an uber back after the first mile

  • Double Date at Manndate

It was good to see these guys on a 27 degree morning. Started promptly at 5:30 with warmup of: side straddle hops, LBC’s, Merkins and Arm Circles. We didn’t go far because this morning was a tabata. 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off. We did various exercises going from arms to core to legs. Exercises included: Clean and Press, sit up press, squats, halos’, boat-canoe’s, calf raises, demon crushers, lunges and some I can’t recall. As usual it was a pleasure to lead these guys. Every day is better when I start it with an F3 workout. Numberama, Namearama, a prayer by Yardsale and we were out of there a couple of minutes late. Have a great day guys and be careful in the ice tomorrow.

  • The Love Hammer but no Glamour

Ten of Tuckahoe’s finest huddled around the pine cone parking lot for a little banter prior to today’s excursion. Some even hurled pine cones. Better than hurling other projectiles. Regardless, this is what we did, for the most part:

    The Thang
Short mosey to the front of the church for disclaimer and light warm up COP:

    15x Invisible Jump Ropes
    15x Imperial Walkers
10x Knee Pulls (with ample form description)
    10x Donald Quixotes
21x SSH, 5 in cadence, 16 in silence
5x Burpees b/c Honeydo chose not to count

Barely a shimmy to the north parking lot for COP 2

    Bolt 45s
    15x Leg Thrusts
    Repeat one more time

Stroll over to University via River, stopping at Gaymont for the start of today’s favorite exercise series. Three exercises with decreasing (then increasing) reps, stopping at three places on University. Gaymont, bottom of the hill, then Ralston. Exercises were Jump Squats, Cross Leg Mountain Climbers, Ball Dippers. Back and forth until we did the following sets of reps:

    11/20/20
    9/18/18
    7/16/16
    5/14/14
    3/12/12
    1/10/10
    2/11/11
    4/13/13
    6/15/15
    8/17/17
    10/19/19

Stroll back Gaymont, stopping at the bottom for random American Hammers while we collect the 6. Continue up Gaymont, back to the pine code lot for triple check. Peoples Chair, Calf Raises on the curb, 10x single leg APDs as the pace car.

Circle up for 10x Monkey Humper ROF.

Numbers, names, no announcements, and an attempt by YHC to take us out.

    Moleskin
YHC believes everyone was anticipating more oversharing given our proximity to Valentine’s Day. No takers this week, in fact, there was limited mumblechatter throughout the workout. Therefore, YHC is awarding OSOTW to YHC. Yes, I give myself an award. Narcissism is in vogue.

(Fake) apologies to those that experienced both Hoedown and Heartbreak followed by this workout. I was reminded yesterday of how Bleeder punished us with a full-on merkin workout on 12/1 one year after everyone just completed Merkin November. So I said to myself, “SELF!!! Why not continue the leg punishment this week for those that have experienced it”.

    Adiós muchachos. Viajes seguros, UpChuck.

  • Duke and I

It had been awhile since I have Qed and I wondered if any would show? As I wait I saw Duke heading down the hill. We hit Satins hill and ran trough the neighborhood to get 3 miles and some exercises along the way.

  • All Apologies

Fifteen fearless facing wet darkness slogged through Tuckahoe. Here’s where they went:

    All

    • Out the Batcave across the shopping center onto Westham Station
    • Up South Ridge
    • Bear right onto Westham

    4s

    • Right on Baldwin
    • Through Fraternity Row (Audible – Backtrack to Wood and Left on Lakewood)
    • Back to Flag

    5s/6s

    • Right on Devon
    • Right on Horsepen
    • Audible and continue on Hampshire
    • Left on Wood
    • Left on Lakewood
    • Left on College
    • Back to Flag

    6s

    • Add Old Bridge to Highland and backdown while on Westham Station

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

Apologies to all for YHC’s failure to anticipate Fraternity Row being impassable.  Rumor has it, all but Saabski took the alternate route around.  YHC is grateful no one was injured.  The 6s were supposed to be about a tenth short on the original route. At least they finished in full, so there’s that.  No shortage of big hills and Westham is a long grind, but this twisted group seems to enjoy that sort of thing.  Good to see Marv again and Flatline don’t be a stranger either.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

Happy Sweet 16 to Little Tennessee

Congrats to Saabette and her Dude on their new house
