  • Downrange Salisbury?

YHC and Bullseye connected to run a different route this holiday season. Meeting at the Church of the Redeemer, which is fitting for the luminary lighting that occurs on Christmas Eve running from the neighborhoods to the church. 4.3 miles logged for me, Bullseye ran to and from for over 6 probably. Nice morning for a job through the hood. Merry Christmas y’all.

  • Unsolicited Man Tunes – The 12 Abs of Christmas

If my goal was to get our Daville guys to break into spontaneous humming while in a painful COP, and even some light off-tune Christmas singing, I believe I was successful. The men chimed in with the core exercise of their choice and we kept our butts frosty for 45 minutes straight minutes of abs and jogging

On the First Day of Christmas, F3 brought to me …

1 – a 30 second Hollow Hold or Glute Bridge

    2- 4count Freddie M’s

    3 – 3x 10 second Plank Holds

    4 – Flutter Kicks

    5 – Golden Rings

*Cough * Cough* get lost trying to find the path in the woods

    6 – Heels to Heaven

    7 – Wish I could remember …..

    8 – Mercans

    9 – WWIIs

    10 – Alabama Prom Dates

    11 – American Hammers

    12 – Lords a Leaping (Imperial Walkers)

Twas my birthday. 41 seems to have some gloom of it’s own, but not when surrounded by great dudes who are fighting “Age” in the same battle. Good times.

    MOLESKIN

Apparently today is National Short Person Day.  YHC is exactly the US average and a solid inch and a half over the world average, so not sure why Splinter shared that with me.  Doesn’t matter anyway when you far eclipse some more important averages, like intelligence, looks, athleticism, length and girth.  I would enjoy watching this PAX play basketball against another AO though.  Bring it on Alamo A$$clowns or Deep D-Bags.

  • Frosty Fingers

One lonely Beaver emerged from the gloom for a ruck with ignite coffee in hand to keep the core warm. Unfortunately, the yeti couldn’t help keep the fingers warm (downside to yeti’s).

Keep your eyes and ears peeled, there may or may not be an EC ruck this evening if anyone is up for it.

Have a great week men! SYITG!

  • Downrange visiting family for Christmas

9 F3 Winston-Salem PAX and YHC showed up this morning to the YMCA parking lot for a good workout!

Warmup with typical IC exercises. Ziggy (F3 Winston-Salem) had the Q and ran an ascending 4 corners style workout. Reps went 5-10-15-20-25 and worked way back down until time. Corner 1 – Merkins, Squats, American Hammers; Corner 2 – Werkins, Jump Squats, Heels to Heaven; Corner 3 – Diamond Merkins, Lunges, Freddy Mercuries; Corner 4 – Carolina Dry Docks, Monkey Humpers, LBCs

Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayers (Wildcat and treatment, traveling during holidays)

All the people working out inside the YMCA, probably thought all of us folks working out in the cold parking lot were poor and couldn’t afford a membership! A welcoming crew back in my home town! Always fun to post down range! Have a blessed day fellas!

  • Dad Life!

2 patrons of the New Kent F3 gathered late for some EC ruck time. YHC rolled in late due to taking care of some 2.0 needs while Commando was able to take care of some work related items while waiting. We logged a good 1.5 mi and caught up on the latest. Great to spend some time with you Commando!

  • Coleman Hot Tub For 2

5 regulars and 1 FNG emerged on the scene of The Lumberyard in rather early fashion! For the entire hour YHC was concerned for the FNG’s noggin in the freezing temps(bald head/no hat).Choo Choo talks about some hot tub options that had YHC rolling.

Mosey the trail eastward around the FBF and land on the E Helipad for brief disclaimer and warmarama

    Numbers and Names

Announcements- New Year Convergence 07:00 at Dogwood Dell. See Slack.

Prayer Requests – Patience in these times when everything comes at us in quicker and higher volumes than ever.

YHC closed us out in Prayer. Thanks for being a part of my 200th Q men!

  • DR in, Ahem, Belmont with Toga

PAX called YHC the “Original Offshore” and YHC met the “New and Improved” Wedding Singer. The “New and Improved” Offshore was not at this AO today. YHC heard they also have a HoneyDo. PAX gave Toga a hard time for not having more creativity with names. They were not surprised that he would message back to RVA, “Hey, I found a guy that’s even better for your name!”

Toga has apparently taken other F3 RVA traditions to Nashville, as the PAX did the 12 days of Christmas workout. It was a solid Q, with 2 times up 77 steps after each round. New to YHC exercises included the Worst Merkin and Single Leg Squats. YHC told Toga about new traditions he could steal, including Festivus, Die Hard, and Secret Santa.

It was great to catch up with Toga who EH’d YHC over 10 years ago with, “Hey, are you gonna do this or what?”. YHC got his ass kicked at Punisher the next morning and the rest is history.

  • Welcome party for Trojan

Machismo and Belay were nearly late to the welcome party for Trojan. Machinehead, Tin Man and FNG Luke hereon “Trojan” were in their cars waiting on the temps to rise upon YHC’s 5:59 arrival. No time for small talk the pax went right into side straddle hops. As Machinehead and Trojan quickly found they were missing key winter hand apparel the pax scrambled for extra pairs of gloves. Tin Man produced a pair and Machismo grabbed some mittens for Machinehead. Properly attired the pax continued warmarama: SSH, Merkins, Freddie Mercuries, X-Cross Sit ups, Montain Climbers, Don Quixote’s.

    Mosey to the Riverside school.

YHC was feeling the need to get the pre-burn on for the upcoming glutteny so this workout was sponsored by the abductors.

COP#1 four corners prostitute stile 10 WWIIs, 20 Freddie Mercury double count, 30 American Hammers, 40 Alabama Prom Dates. Hit every corner coming and going building up to the main stage APD.

COP#2 YHC found a loosely conscribed track around the 2 playgrounds and the school house. Start at the far in for a longer triple check. 1 runner/timer and paired pax for alternating exercises. Merkins and Imperial Squat Walkers, Plank and SSHs, Hold Plank and Alabama Prom date. Timer YHC announced the new exercises upon arrival.

Mosey across the tundra to the back side of Bon Air elementary for a quick run of alternating wall sits and donkey kicks. 3 sets brought us close to time.

BTTF for a 5 Burpee Cherry. Numbers, Names and naming. Announcements, Prayers. Great to have one more FNG at the Bon Iron. This one was the EH of Machinehead. According to him Trojan has a gift of teaching men about sexual purity so what better monnacure that one involves protecting one’s privates. Awesome to have growth in this fine group.

Prayers for babies, both M.H. and Trojan have 2.0’s in utero. Raj YHCs nephew is improving, his eyes were open today but he is still sedated and intubated at CHKD Norfolk. Pray for the many families experiencing struggles this holiday season.

Coffeeteria was frigid as YHC dropped the tailgate and served from the airpot rather than going inside. Loved the fellowship. YHC got talking about Snuffs idea of using a battery pack to power a perculator. Belay stopped listening.

(YHC read the BB from House Party mentioning the lures of the Fartsack. LFG the Iron’s first FNG was lamenting over text his deference to sleeping in over building his body mind and soul. Mike Rey (LFG) says he will return. )

  • Hanging here like a Lithuanian Sea Lion

A frosty fourteen PAX arrived at various times at Dogpile, with 2 promised downrange via Faceplant, we tried to give them a good tour:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Ukrainian Soldiers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks.

Down to Amphitheater: Partner up for a Triple check, which quickly descended into Chaos: HRMs, Heels2Heaven, run up and around Amphitheater.

Over to the other stage to introduce our downrangers to a Dogpile favorite: Touch a Tree. Rounds were 3,5, and 8 trees. Keep partner and do 3 rounds of 20 PLTs. Down to the Rusty Cage: 4 rounds of 6 Pullups and 10 Jerkins, to blow out the arms.

Mosey to front of Carillon. Few rounds of jump squats, WWIIs, and Burpees. Back to the flag and 2 min of Mary. YHC took us out.

Announcements: Rosie’s 12 Days at NoToll this week. Kubota has the Bridge next weekend.

NMS: Solid crew of 14 this morning. Apparently the Q has to be extremely descriptive when calling for a Triple Check, as many PAX were confused by an exercise we’ve all done 100+ times before.

Glad to have some downrange visitors to the F3RVA holy site, YHC tried to give them a good taste of the AO which is impossible in only an hour. Backblast title came from Senor Frog, you had to be there. Only those who post know…
