  • Flat Tires

Nine F3 guys did what nine F3 guys do. They ran, they talked smack, they laughed, they farted, they prayed, they drank… coffee.  Here is the run, smack, laugh, fart part:

    The Route

    • R on Pump
    • L on Sunrise
    • L on Waterford
    • L on Church
    • R on Pump
    • R on John Rolfe
    • L on Glen Eagles (or continue JR to Ridgefield)
    • L on Old Prescott
    • Back to SF

    MOLESKIN

Quiet-ish chilly morning to run the mean streets of western Henrico.  Very difficult to find uncharted territory these days.  Lulu tried to give YHC a flat tire twice on Church.  One PAX popped a tire or maybe blew a gasket on Pump.  No injuries were reported, however.  Gomer was rocking a rad 80s windbreaker, excuse me “running jacket.”  Things YHC learned today, 1) Germans love small coffee, 2) Whitesnake’s father-in-law is quite the hobbyist.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • Shoe drive in progress

    Prayers for UpChuck’s friend

  • Hutton’s Encore

I recall once seeing a high school track athlete’s shirt that said: “Our sport is your sport’s punishment.”  That being said, 8 faithful and strong beat the fart sack this 35 degree morning to come out and pound the undulating pavement of Raintree Drive.  First, we started on Raintree.  Then we went the other way on Raintree.  Then we went back. And then back again.  Once we pounded that damn road into submission we huddled up at Godwin HS for some COT.

Announcements: 2nd F at Innsbrook Firehouse Subs at 12pm on 12/12. Rosie’s 12 DOC at No Toll on 12/19 (only parameter is just don’t literally bring shit in a box). Remember Shood and keep those gently-used shoes coming gents. Some kid out there is truly gonna appreciate it. Also, please reach out to that man that hasn’t posted in a while. He might need the encouragement. Sometimes we don’t know why. Or in Gomer’s situation, you know it’s simply due to being lazy and unmotivated. Either way, give them a nudge.

Prayer requests: Prayers for Vagabond as he navigates moving his family to St. Louis for a new job.

    YHC took us out.

Moleskin: Enjoy this holiday season fellas.  Don’t let it pass you by without savoring it.  You never know how many more you get to have.  As Bodos recently cautioned, Memento mori.  SYITG!

  • Running is Evil

Five guys without a plan gathered, one quickly formed a plan.  Here is that plan:

    The Route

    • L on Pump
    • L on Falconbridge
    • R on Raintree
    • Cross Gayton and Continue until you hit Pump
    • Reverso back across Gayton to Raintree
    • L on Maremont
    • Circle Godwin if you dare
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

YHC “planned” to lead a hot potato a few minutes prior to launch, but a brief discussion was had, Raintree was mentioned, and no further toss of the Q was necessary.  For those who have forgotten, Raintree is hilly.  Early discussion involved the nature of good vs. evil.  YHC concluded that running is purely evil.  Later discussion between Mr.R and Lighthouse centered around Middle Eastern politics.  Doozy forged ahead of the PAX while YHC brought up the rear.  Prayers to Gypsy that he is good to go.  Notable PAX was missing.

  • Still Thankful

With a combined 115 years of life experience, these 2 F3ers knew that on the day after Thanksgiving you gotta fight the good fight against the ever-present Jester, jump out of the Fart Sack, get out and get back to it. We did just that. With the spirit of Currahee’s end-of-the-month Bro Code in mind, we did enough laps around Godwin HS to wear some grooves into the ground. Pigskin saved his hip some pounding by mixing in a few V-Ups and Merkins, and perhaps some other gems from his deep bag of tricks. Speaking of Pigskin’s tricks, during COT I learned a few of Pigskin’s secrets for maintaining a long life of mobility, flexibility, strength and a healthy weight. I’d share here, but it looks like some of the folks reading this need some extra motivation to get after it. If you don’t post, you don’t know.

    Pigskin took us out.

Moleskin: After all the dishes from yesterday have been done and put away, my hope is that I take with me, into the coming year, an undying focus on all the many blessings I do have in my life. Despite my tendency to notice the few things not going so well at any given time, when I give it just a few moments of consideration, there are constantly an almost-infinite number of reasons for gratitude. I’m grateful for all of you guys. SYITG!

  • Hot Croissant

Seven men considered dispersing in separate directions but opted to join up and see where the wind took them.  The wind did the following:

    The Route

    • R on Pump
    • L on Old Prescott
    • L on Millington Dr
    • R on Millington Ln to dead-end
    • R on Millington Ct to dead-end
    • R on Millington Ln
    • L on Millington Dr
    • L on Old Prescott
    • R on Glen Eagles
    • L on Ridgefield
    • R on John Rolfe
    • R on Glen Eagles (include some of the cul-de-sacs for the faster guys)
    • L on Old Prescott
    • R on Pump
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

YHC started it off, Handshake took it very briefly, Lighthouse followed up, maybe more PAX contributed.  YHC suggests a run with a shared Q should have its own name, perhaps a Hot Croissant in honor of the delicious croissants available 1 mile from the AO, not 8,000 miles away as Gomer would claim.  Great Friday for a run, if running didn’t suck.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • Shoe drive in progress
    • Turkey Trot Tuesday at SpiderRun
  • We didn’t get lost

NIce taper run for the Currahee crew… YHC looked for the fastest route possible for the area and came up with a 4 miler. 10 pax and three 4 legged crotch sniffers took to the route. Anyone that know me, knows I can’t tell you a single road name that we ran, but everyone enjoyed a route that wasn’t in Raintree and didn’t run towards Broad. Lighthouse and Tonka can tell you the road names since it was their neighborhood.

Thank you for running with me guys. Had a great 1/2 marathon today and beat the goal by 4 mins.

    SYITG!

  • Was she hot?

Ten showed up on a cold morning and split up into three groups. Pigskin and Tonka ran around the school and did 200 merkins and likely dips, squats and other fun. A locked down track forced Gypsy, Gomer and Blue Moon to do a mix of running and walking around the parking lots. The remaining five “healthy” ones of me, Hutton, Handshake, Lighthouse & Mr. Rogers (and two dogs) did 5 miles that included Ridgefield to John Rolfe to Pump to Church to Lake Lorraine and back down Pump to Godwin. On the way up John Rolfe, we passed many quick female runners and the darkness had us assume they were all attractive. Hopefully, they assumed the same for us.

A good group of 8 for coffeteria at Dunkin followed.

  • Westbrocode

5 Currahee stalwarts gathered for another Brocode run in reverse order on a warm day.

Pigskin took us out.  Prayers for healing.

  • No intervals today

Five super studs met on a warm fall morning to avoid Gypsys threat of interval training, and see what Gomer Pyle had in store.

The route was the reverse brookmont, which caused some consternation as it’s never been named before.

PAX quickly understood the route and we were on the go. Some rabbits forgot the name of some critical streets (which happens often among the twisty streets in the West End). We accomplished the route with minimal difficulty. Our fast runners actually found time to put on a lot of extra distance which set Lighthouse up for a very fast run on Saturday. Lighthouse is now one of our second 6 mile runners (during a work out).

Pigskin took us out. Coffeeteria at Dunkin’.

  • Kabota’s Comz reminded me

Reading the new post by Kabota on what’s happening this week and remembered I forgot to write the Currahee BB.

While a few core Currahee pax went SOJ to capture the flag, 6 held the line back home. No Q Hilly route impromptu 5 miler was called.

South on Pump over Gayton left on Waltham. Follow Waltham around and cross back over Gayton onto Raintree. Run entirety of Raintree to Ridgefield. Left and up that damn hill.. right on Eagle View.. left on Glenn Eagles. Left on Old Prescott. Cross over to Godwin H.S.

5 miles 255 ft elevation gain.

    Announcement in Slack

TAP for Homer’s mother that is currently in the hospital.
