  • Back to the rabbit warren

Seven svelte stallions met in the gloom to discover the called route was the rabbit warren which consists of running around in some neighborhoods and trying not to get lost. Some opted for the comfort of loops around MGHS which is 1/2 mile if you take a fat well proportioned route.

Roger Roger took us out. Prayers for Gypsys family and M. Recovery from injury.

    Announcements

    • Bluegrass festival at JRHS. free with a donation
    • Gomers anniversary Q Sat at DogPile.
    • May 6 CSAUP. Come on out and register your team!

NMS – YHC likes this route, but its a bit of a rabbit warren in there – just enough turns on one street to make you question the direction in the gloom. Thanks to Lighthouse for helping confirm turns in Canterbury. Happy to complete the Raintree hill without stopping – that hill is a gut check.

Great hanging out with the PAX at coffeeteria after.

  • Getting stronger

For the second week in a row, 4 Redwoods joined us at Currahee for a run out west. 5 mi Route is Pump, Church, GES, Knightsbridge, Poplar Forest, Ridgefield, Pump. 4 milers cut across on Copperas. Pigskin took us out.

NMS – This is a handy little route connecting the two schools with a little bit of elevation along the way. Light attendance today. Coffeeteria was grand as usual.

  • Brocode + Dorsiflexion + Contagion

Four West End redwoods got together to find out what we have been missing on Brocode runs, discover one of YHC favorite words, and learn about economics – almost just like any Currahee.

YHC took us out. Prayers for and hope for the future and that energized overreactors dont precipitate decline.

    Announcements

    • The bridge tommorrow
    • Currahee CSAUP: ruck + bootcamp + Run

NMS Counter to some recent bloviating, BroCode is a led run. Yes a PAX can pick the same route and not claim the Q but it requires someone to write a BB and therefore its not really that hard to choose a route now is it.

What was most exciting today is that Pigskin decided that he would run… and he did for all 4 miles at a 9 min pace. YHC also enjoyed some healing dorsiflexion – coming back with a PRODUCTIVE run

TIL Lighthouse has a soft part for dumb people in a position of power. We can all agree that mistakes might be made, but you cannot hide from ones that almost bring down a financial system.

  • Brunch Club vs Breakfast Club

I thought it would be just another Friday morning run, but when I pulled up at the AO, there was Rosie talking to Gomer and Hutton. Was the Breakfast Club gang here to take out the Brunch Club gang? Lighthouse and Gypsy were soon there to back me up. We ended up with 12. Some to fight and some to watch. Before the music started, I gave poor instructions: North on Pump, go across Church on the left then right then explore some neighborhoods then come back”. Rosie and the Breakfast club gang were critical and so I told Rosie, “Don’t you ever come around here. Don’t wanna see your face, you better disappear” He could see the fire in my eyes and the words were really clear.

Rosie then said “You better run, you better do what you can, don’t wanna see no blood, don’t be a macho man, you wanna be tough, better do what you can, so beat it, but you wanna be bad”

So we ran and showed a funky and strong fight and realized it doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right.

Currahee and running is a club for everyone. If you think they’re out to get you, you better run while you can as you don’t wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man. If you wanna stay alive, you better do what you can.

You have to run like you’re really not scared, you’re playin’ with your life, this ain’t no truth or dare. Running can kick you, and then beat you and you’ll think its not fair. But keep running if you wanna be bad.

Thanks to all 12 for showin’ how funky and strong is your fight. Remember, it doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right.

  • Speeding tickets, Andre the Giant, and Economy

Just a few random topics at the Currahee weekly meet up for miles in western westend/short. 2 dogs and 9 pax held each other accountable for beating the fart sack today. I tossed out a few roads that don’t meet up…the PAX corrected the names of the roads since they know I always mess them up and away we went.

It was the hilly Raintree route. Close to 400ft of elevation gain in 5 miles.

Have a great St. Patrick’s day.

Call a pax you haven’t seen in a while, it may be exactly what he needed to get through the day.

Consider the thoughts of someone that are different than your own. You grow through learning something new, not adhering to what you already believe or know.
