Just a few random topics at the Currahee weekly meet up for miles in western westend/short. 2 dogs and 9 pax held each other accountable for beating the fart sack today. I tossed out a few roads that don’t meet up…the PAX corrected the names of the roads since they know I always mess them up and away we went.

It was the hilly Raintree route. Close to 400ft of elevation gain in 5 miles.

Have a great St. Patrick’s day.

Call a pax you haven’t seen in a while, it may be exactly what he needed to get through the day.

Consider the thoughts of someone that are different than your own. You grow through learning something new, not adhering to what you already believe or know.

  • Grammar is BS

Three runners, a walker, and a dog fought off the fartsack and threat of rain. Here’s where they went:

    The Route

    • R on Pump
    • L on Church
    • L on Copperas
    • L on Ridgefield
    • R on Pump
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

Without a route planned, Wally opted to lead the PAX on the standard bro-code route.  Look out for that bag of trash.  Lots of discussion about language and academia at Coffeeteria.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

Best of luck to the Bear Creek crew

  • Cockroach run

9 redwoods met for an early morning run and like a starburst headed out on all sorts of different routes depending on level of brokenness.

Post your route if you need to share.

Pigskin took us out. Prayers for Gypsy / Vagabond cousins children.

Announcements – Planning for a CPR / first aid class soon.  Also shovel flags in the morning.

NMS – it was a treat to have SOJ regular Doozy at coffeeteria with us. Maybe next week Handshake will be back?

  • CURRAHEE Bro-Code

The regulars know the route and rules of Bro-Code at Currahee. It’s a big 4 mile square that the Rabbits turn back for the Clydesdales at each turn.. all start together and all finish together. Mubblechatter the entire route.. learn more about each other, our kids, work, trials and tribulation. Favorite day of the month is last Friday because I know the Bro-Code crew will be there in the Gloom.

no Q, no leader, no followers.. just a singular solid PAX today.

  • Where My Dogs At?

Two runners, two walkers, and a dog fought off the fartsack. Here’s where they went:

    • Reverso
    • Loop around Godwin
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

Lulu chose the route at YHC’s coaxing.  Intention was to take Glen Eagles back, but the PAX chose a straight out’n’back.

  • Who said you can’t Hawt Potato a run?

Thursday night, 9th of February 2130 hours no Q on the sheet. Gypsy had recently texted that he would “in dispose” and we had no Q. YHC didn’t want to figure out a route and thought to himself “has there ever been a Hawt Potato Run?” There likely hasn’t, but who says there couldn’t?

Friday morning, 10th of February 0530 YHC calls “Hawt Potato Run” and we are off. North on Pump and right on Ridgefield. Next up Mr. Rogers excitedly calls for a left on Cox. YHC hadn’t officially released the Q but had been planning on a left anyways, so YHC let Mr. Rogers feel in control (he has a fluffy dog, he needed a win). Well it was the First Inaugural Currahee Bro-Code Hawt Potato. There were more turns and everyone made it back in time.

Blue Moon and Pigskin were keeping the AO safe as they were walking the AO and doing various exercises.

NMS – it was a fun time, and a perfect number of people to make such nonsense work

Thanks for the embracing the randomness.

  • 23/22 Splinterval

Nothing to really write home about on this one.. it was a 23 minutes out and 22 minutes back route.. you v you on pace.

Doozy lead the way to Tuckahoe Park and still managed to get “lost” on way back.. the PAX concensus was he wanted that extra 1/2 mile.  Mr. ROGER split early, Roger Roger fell and ripped his new pants, Bluemoon and Pigskin took point on the Broke-dick brigade, Handshake took us out ..

Situation Normal on the western front of F3 RVA.

    Route:

    • Right on Pump
    • Left on Ridgefield turn around at 23 mins
    • Right on Pump.
    • Left into AO.

  • Not the Tip, the Whole Thing

Tired of the standard bro-code route, YHC offered up something that’s the same, but different. Here’s where it went:

    The Route

    • R on Pump
    • R on Ridgefield
    • L on Cox all the way to the end and back
    • L on Ridgefield
    • R on Falconbridge
    • R on Raintree
    • L on Ridgefield
    • L on Pump
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

Lulu and her team of bodyguards set off in search of some new miles.  Nothing new really, but the PAX did go all the way from the base of Cox to the tip and back for some excitement.  The route resembles a bug’s head and antennae on a map.  Mileages varied between 4.8 and 5.4 depending on the tracker.  You definitely should have been there.

    Announcements

    • Jan 21 frozen triangle
    • May 6 Currahee CSAUP, Ruck + Bootcamp + Ragnar relay. Do some or all for a prize. PAX grousing that its too challenging / ambitious – Best indicator its on the right track.

YHC took us out. Prayers for Corned Beef, his mom and family. Prayers for Honduras mission team. Prayers for Pinto in Zermatt for a good time and no permanent damage – there is always something going on there.

NMS – Good crew today; Glad to have Seymore out – since this is the closest AO to his house, we are hoping to see him more.

Coffeeteria topics ranged. You had to be there for the entertaining bits. VMI cannot be a prison because it has its own passport system and roommate respect protocols. Comment of the day. If the (adult boomeranging) children come home, they can sleep on the couch like everyone else who is crashing overnight.

  • It rained harder the more Splinter complained

A group of 8 gathered for a run. It rained and then it rained more, and then it stopped raining. We started a big loop and on the run into Deep Run Park and back and then finished the big loop.

Announcements: DJ Lighthizouse is leading Brunch Club tomorrow, be there or be square. Next week at Dogpile is the Frozen Triangle.

Prayer Requests: F3 Cardinal’s passing. The family of Posh’s co-worker who lost their son who was 17.

NMS – pretty quiet day. Lighthouse pointed it out and then Splinter made some comments about the rain and then it rained me.
