  • Please nobody lick the Coupons

Eight eager PAX posted to First Watch to find several coupons lovingly deposited by THE BEST site Q in all RVA. A few morons posted for Broga but the rest of us took off at 5:00:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Reverse Crunch, Scorpion kicks.

THE THANG: Mosey to RRbC back lot to start with 4 Corners: 10 Merkins, 20 WWIIS, 30 CCDs, 40 Jump Squats. 2nd Round: HRMs, Monkey Humpers, Squats, & something else. Partner Up and Wheelbarrow across and back with partner. Go grab coupons and mosey to Henrico’s smallest park: Block the Plank & HRMs, 3 rounds. Switch partners and run road to light and back while doing Block Thrusters. Back to coupon drop zone, gather other 3 and circle up for block stations. 8th man is timer with 10 burpees. Annoucements and YHC took us out.

NMS: Great to have Wedding Singer and Whittler join the regulars. Our trusty site Q texted YHC at 3:57 am that he was dropping coupons off but couldn’t post since he was sick. That is dedication. YHC considered a gift after Xmas but everyone’s gift will be printing and in the mail to them soon as the FW order is fulfilled.

  • Field Trip to Jenkins

8 HIM swallowed the red pill and posted at First Watch seeking a better version of themselves. Here’s what transpired:

COP at the NE corner of the parking lot to wait for any stragglers:

SSH’s, Imperial Walkers, Ukranian Soldiers, Merkins, Copperhead Squats

Mosey down River to a left on Westham. Assume plank position in front of #2 Westham Parkway for 86 seconds to honor the life of Fred Dabney, known to several PAX, who passed a few days ago and who’s funeral was yesterday. Fred lived 86 years on this earth and lived them big.

Mosey to the UR campus and over to the bottom of the Jenkins Greek Theater

Ascending the steps, do 1 merkin on the first step, 2 WW2’s on the second, 3 merkins on the third, 4 WW2’s on the 4th, etc. all the way to the top (17th step) and Al Gore for the six. Descend in the same fashion starting with 17 2 count Mountain Climbers, then 16 squats. Plank for the 6.

Mosey down Westhampton Way, past the fountain in front of the Booker Hall of Music, to partner up on the bricks in front of Keller Hall for Dora 1-2-3. One partner runs the triangle in the quad while the other does 100 merkins, 200 squats, & 300 LBC’s.

Mosey back to the VSF. Plank for the 6. 1 burpee for each PAX. Numberama, namerama, Handshake took us out.

    NMS:

Lockjaw was supposed to Q today but he bailed last minute with symptoms of some sickness. YHC was not prepared with Christmas gifts but was able to throw together a field trip beatdown that at least got everyone breathing hard. In lieu of gifts, YHC treated the PAX to coffee/tea at Starbucks afterwards. Thanks for letting me lead guys. It’s an honor and a pleasure every time.

Merry Christmas to all, and never stop chasing the Wabbit!

    Announcements:

    • HDHH at Final Gravity (in Lakeside) tonight
    • TYA has the Q at the Bridge this weekend. Several PAX will be driving up. Watch Slack for updates on rally points and times if you want to catch a ride.

    • Frozen Triangle CSAUP in January
  • Lots of Holiday Cheer for Burpees

A hearty crew of 10 emerged from the gloom to celebrate the season of giving at First Watch. A quick reminder not to hurt ourselves, and we moseyed to the parking lot for COP – SSH, Don Quixote, Ukrainian Soldiers, LBCs, Arm Circles, and Merkins.

We split into pairs for a DORA – 100 merkins, 200 reverse crunches, and 300 squats.

Next, over to the church for three sets of wall sits and 20 dips.

Then, off to the back of the church for 4 corners (10 burpees, 20 merkins, 30 monkey humpers, and 40 two count flutters). It was so much fun, that we did it again with 5 additional reps added to each corner.

On the way back to the Flag, we did 2 burpees for each candle in the church. There was much rejoicing for the additional burpees. We bear crawled up the hill and then moseyed to the Flag.

A ring of fire was conducted with LBCs, American Hammers, and merkins.

Numberama, Nameorama, and the Q took us out. Gifts were handed out in the form a Redneck survival kit (a Coors Banquet Beer, 2 slim jims, and a lottery ticket).

Announcements – Caroling at Fudd’s on Sunday at 6 p.m. – RSVP required. HDHH at Fighting Gravity on 12/21.

  • Six Seconds to Glory

The Grinch appears once a year to spread holiday jeer, doling out green pills for all the PAX of Tuckahoeville.  After 45 minutes the Grinch’s heart grew larger and kinder, and gifts were given to all.

    MOLESKIN

Another Christmas, another opportunity to test one’s fitness.  Fudd was 6 seconds shy of completion.  Thus, YHC perfectly timed the COP.  Last Call reached the round of Burpees, not sure if any others got that close, or if they just settled into the suck and avoided the big finish.  Either way, YHC will put this one away for another year.  The payoff was baked goods and Fair Life Chocolate Magic.  Special thanks to Kubota for bringing the blocks.  The First Watch Season of Giving continues.

    NMS:

SZN of GVN has begun at First Watch! Those who know, know! YHC foresees Miatas and Kidneys as future gifts to the pax. Light numbers this morning only meant more goodies for the ones who posted.

Ronnie never got his back wet, somehow, and Handshake wonders if YHC ever really works 🙂

In a couple weeks, be on the lookout for Santa in a Miata.

YHC enjoys kicking off the SZN of GVN for the second or third(?) year in a row! Spreading Christmas cheer has always been a favorite of YHC’s, ever since a little boy. This is definitely the best time of the year, but let’s be mindful of those who have a lot of stress or bad memories/lost loved ones during this season.

Way to work this morning, fellas!

Be on the lookout for a recruiting effort. And, thank you to those helping with Breaking Bread this weekend.

    UpChuck spits the bit.

  • Non Denominational First Watch

NMS: Good to have Florence join up today with an overshare. A bit mumble chatter but it seems the group is on a bit of a dry spell. Maybe the warmer temps and the leaves falling on Splinters trampoline will provide better tales next week. With Kubotas hopeful return, could some Florence Nightingale adventures be forthcoming? Well done fellas. Enjoy the day.

    NMS:

Three years for First Watch and five years for YHC! Double celebration! To start off with, First Watch was an experiment that Honeydo and YHC started that seemed strong at first, waned for a while, grew back stronger for a few months, then really got strong and has stayed that way leading up to today. First Watch has been called a “Stand around and Watch each other” AO by one pax member early on, an “AO for those on the Injured Reserve” by another pax member early on and an AO that’s “not going to make it because it starts a 5am” by a host of others. Well, YHC calls BS!! We are now averaging around 12 each Wednesday with a high of 17. But, it’s not about numbers here. It’s about having a good time oversharing and just letting loose! Broga helps beforehand and coffeeteria helps afterwards. At this AO, anyone can share anything and not worry about any repercussions, especially those repercussions from our M’s. The workout this morning was a repeat of the first workout conducted here, by the same Q’s, at the end of October 2019. Thanks to all for helping make this AO what it is today!

In closing, YHC wants to thank everyone in the F3RVA pax for the last five years. YHC may not post regularly like he used to, but the brotherhood and friendships get stronger every week. YHC appreciates each and every one of you!
