  • Door number 1 or Door number2?

5:29:38 YHC pulls into the full Parking Lot of guys eager for a good beatdown. Quick mosey around the big Parking Lot and we circled up to Warmup. After Warmup was complete YHC asked the Pax if they wanted Door number 1 or Door number 2. Not a single Pax member raised their hands for Door number 1.

Various exercises were done, its was a good time. Glad to see so many smiling faces.

“No man steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.”  Attributed to Heraclitus,

a Greek philosopher of Ephesus (Ephesians in the Bible) in present day Turkey who lived around 500 BCE, (prior to Socrates). In the situations we experience every day, they are different but more importantly, we are different. Lord, help us to grow wiser as we experience life.

  • No April’s Fools

No April Fools jokes today.  A traditional ground and pound workout in cooler than expected temps.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • DQ
      • Helicopters
      • Arm circles
      • DMH
      • Suzanne Somers
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • Mosey to the black top for a one-man Dora (5 sets with a run for each exercise)

      • 40 pole smokers
      • 20 Mike Tysons
    • Mosey back to the parking lot for COT with YHC taking us out

Attila Q means a Gomer Pyle post.  YHC is the friend of the crippled and unstable.  The PAX is also grateful that Gomer did not drive in on stolen wheels.  After a year of driving a “hot” sports car, corrective actions are in place?!?!   Stay tuned, Gomer’s either going to have new wheels or maybe a member of the PAX will be asked to bail him out of jail after going grand theft auto.

Great work from the PAX today.  A solid core group despite it being spring break for the public school kids.  High reps and limited mumble-chatter after COP.

Continued prayers for Roger Roger, Fudd and Fireman Ed.  God is good all of the time!

  • Awakening Whitesnake’s Special Purpose

A durable dozen PAX came out to HBR on a mid 40s morning. Some were dressed for a summer beatdown, others to shovel snow. Once we got moving we all stayed warm:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Helicopters, Merkins, Freddy Ms, Scorpion kicks.

Mosey to back to tennis courts: 3 rounds of Wheelbarrow and 10 Derkins. Then 5 burpees. Over to back of PES for Triple Check: HRMs, Heels2Heaven, run blacktop and back. A few rounds in the parking lot to give the Tomatoes setting up for their beatdown something to look at.

Mosey down to Jerkin Gym. 4 Rounds of Jerkins, then off to benches. 4 rounds of 40 Benchkicks & 20 squats. Back to flag with stop at other side benches for 50 more benchkicks. 1 min of Mary then done.

Announcements: Century Classic is back. May 2-3rd. Overnight while rest of your family is sleeping so no excuse: Sign up pussies! Word is even Atilla might run…

NMS: Handshake signed YHC up to Q this morning last week so YHC wanted to cover all the HD faves of HBR. BB title comes from Whitesnake’s appreciation of the Qs attire. Salt Lick offered a solid alternative option when he shared the Jerkin Gym was the first time he’s done Jerkins with a partner. Apparently they do it solo down in TX.

Solid numbers, good weather, and even better fellowship. Always a pleasure to lead.

  • We Have OT

Word on the street was that today’s Q would be friendly to those recovering from injury, ground and pound with less running.  Should YHC be offended…no just bring the red pill.  Here is how it went down for a stellar PAX of 16:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • DQ
      • Helicopters
      • Arm circles
      • DMH
      • Suzanne Somers
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • Cumulative beast
      • 216 HRM
      • 180 WWII sit-ups
      • 144 monkey humpers
      • 108 side crunches, each sit
      • 72 2x crab cakes
      • 36 burpees
      • 1,200 yards of running
    • Mosey back to the flag for COT

Great work from the PAX today.  Today’s workout was sponsored by BW3s as we had some overtime to finish the beast.  March Madness at its best. It might have been cold, but a fair share of sweat under the warm hats.

Great to see Whitesnake back and Fudd venture to a bootcamp.  Prayers up for our brothers that are recovering from injury.  Continued prayers for Fireman Ed, Roger Roger and Fudd’s family.

Gypsy is playing with chainsaws, guns and alcohol on his property this weekend.  Participate at your own risk/liability.

God is good all of the time!

  • Substitute Q

0500 YHC’s alarm goes off, feeling exhausted YHC was on the verge of turning the alarm off and fartsacking when YHC heard his M stirring. YHC knew his alarm had woken her up and if he did not get up she would be heavily annoyed. YHC quietly walked down the stairs and went to turn off his alarm and there was a text from the Q saying he had to bail. YHC was glad he didn’t fartsack or HBR would be Q-less. YHC couldn’t imagine the Pax without a leader to keep in check. YHC would rise to the occasion.

0530 struck and we’re off, running in a abnormal direction. YHC could hear one Pax member comment that they hadn’t been there in a little bit and everything had seemed to change. We saw the lights of Roger Roger’s truck so we looped back but apparently we will still out of sight so he didn’t see us. Lighthouse volunteered to get him but with a hefty head start Roger Roger ran around the entire school before Lighthouse could catchup. Now that we had the entire Pax we were a perfect 9.

Various exercises, a Triple Chora. Various versions of Merkins/Squats/WWI’s and II’s. Fun was had by all.

Announcements – 2nd Lunch at Joeys Hot Dogs at Innsbrook at noon today.

Prayer Requests – unspoken but many known

NMS – it’s good to have Roger Roger back.

    Chili Cook off: check Slack

    CSAUP: check Slack

Afterwards, we visited Starbucks off Gaskins near Quioccasin to discuss adult education, universities and research.

    COT:

I listen to podcasts in my car. On one podcast, someone asked a Rabbi to explain the Talmud while standing on one leg. The Rabbi responded with the ‘Silver Rule’: “Don’t do to others what you don’t want done to you. The Talmud is just a collection of interpretations of the Silver Rule.” Religions and philosophies have their differences. But they also hold a lot in common. This is a pretty good rule. Dear Lord: while we can’t always live up to the Golden Rule, let’s at least live up to the Silver Rule.

  • Time is almost up to get your Real ID

A Bakers Dozen joined to see what randomness ole’ Handshake would bring to Heartbreak. Special guests were Lockjaw and EF Hutton who are traditionally at Spider Run.

We started with a never ending COP after the first exercise we did 10 HRM’s, 10 WWI’s, 10 Squats and then after the second exercise we did 9 HRMs, 9 WWI’s, 9 Squats all the way down to 1/1/1 and then we repeated 10/10/10 to finish.

Mosey over to the DMV to get in line for our Real ID appointment. First exercise Bear Crawl between the spaces and do 5 Merkins at each Parking Spot (10).

Get in groups of 3 (with 1 group of 4) for a Triple Check. First man runs around the building, second may LBC’s, third man Squats, 3 rounds.

Stay in your groups for Boo-yeah Heels to Heaven and then Boo-year forward reaching HRM’s

Line up in the parking lot parallel to the spaces. 10 parking spots with various traveling exercises and 10 of various exercises at each line.

Line up for and Indigenous Peoples Run around the back of the school back to the Flag.

2 minutes of Larry, like Mary, but slightly different.

Announcements – Book Club Shield Lock tonight at Dunkin’ at 7:00 pm

Prayer Requests – non mentioned but there are always people to be praying for. Keep all those in difficult physical health/family/job/mental health/emotional heath situations in your prayers

NMS – YHC was thankful to lead today. Heartbreak might be YHC’s favorite place to Q because there is plenty of space/opportunity and it’s the perfect line of demarcation between Tuckahoe and Fart West End. Certainly Currahee and Circus Maximas have the same crowd but this is the only traditional Boot Camp of the 3.

  • Gypsy returns and a late Pinto

Nine PAX, with one very late LIFO, came out to see if YHC picked up any new exercises from his trip to Mexico. Instead we did a lot of the Qs favorites.

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Freddy Mercurys, Scorpion Kicks.

Mosey to PES lot for Dora: 100 Merkins, 200 Heels2Heaven, 300 Jump Squats. Pinto joined us in the middle of the Dora. Back to the playground for 4 rounds of Pullups & Squats. Over to the blacktop of PES for Triple check of: WWIIS and Squats.

Mosey over to QMS benches for 3 rounds of: 40 Benchkicks & 10 Derkins. Back to QMS parking lot. Few rounds of Sprints, much to Atilla’s dismay and Gypsy’s excitement. Finish with 2 min of Mary. YHC took us out.

Announcements: Century Classic is back on again for this spring, after a six year Hiatus, the 1st annual inaugural one in 2018 was Epic. See Slack for more details.

NMS: The ever supportive HBR Pax were glad to have YHC back on the Q. Gypsy did his first Merkins in months as he is taking another running training break, until he signs up for a bunch more races soon. No tomatoes at PES, guess it is too cold again. Coffee had a solid attendance where door locking and fiscal policy were the topic du jour.

  • Nothing Asynchronous Here

No better day to get out of the house and link arms with a PAX  of noble warriors as we prep for everyone being working and schooling from home.  Here is it all went down for this grizzly dozen:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • DQ
      • Helicopters
      • Arm circles
      • DMH
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • Mosey to the black top for 4 corners with 10, 15, 20 & 25 reps of an exercise
      • 70 HRM
      • 70 WWII sit-ups
      • 70 squat thrusters
      • 70 2x crab cakes
    • Mosey to the tennis courts for 3x sets of partner wheel barrows and 10 derkins
    • Mosey to the bus loop for 3x iterations legs, abs, arms

      • 20 pole smokers
      • 10 Mike Tysons
    • Mosey back to the flag for COT with YHC taking us out

Great work from the PAX today.  No truth to the rumor that Bodos saw YHC on the Q and knew he could avoid tweaking an ankle with excess running at HBR.  Good to see EF Hutton.  Sound numbers for a solid arm and shoulder burner.

Continued prayers for Roger Roger, Fireman Ed and Fudd’s family.

Lunch is still a go at Joey’s Hot Dogs in Innsbrook for those that can make it today.

God is good all of the time!
