  • There’s a sign

Nine men of distinction met in the last cold morning of the Spring. According to the driver in the county truck who views pax working out in the parking lot as unworthy to give a wide berth, here is how it went down more or less.

YHC took us out. Prayers for PAX and the energy to give it away. Thanks for letting me lead.

NMS – Day 4 of week of Q. YHC going to do something completely different but since Mondays PAX found themselves elsewhere, decided to repeat some favorites. Traffic in the normally empty parking lot picked up with poll opening so we had to move locations.

Just out of curiosity, research of the VA code says its unlawful to place political signs on property including in the Right of Way without explicit permission of the owner. It is also unlawful to vandalize signs or remove signs unless specifically authorized to do so. So clearly the way around placing signs on public property is to put them up last minute while no one (that matter) is looking. Fun.

To be clear both sides of todays vote have placed signs on public property – we just witnessed an older man do so while we were touching trees.

In formative years, YHC learned that Integrity is doing what is right when no one is looking. For YHC Integrity = both being forthright and also accountable to actions. Integrity is heavily highlighted at military academies, and that both why generally officers are given an extra level of respect and also why its so bad when officers violate that precept. Finally, concepts like your honor and Integrity are the only things you cannot have taken from you. Do whats right when no one is looking.

    Get Some!

  • Fudd AND Handshake are here, it must be 5:30

A solid sixteen were looking to get covered in pollen in the Gloom. We did:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Helicopters, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion kicks. Mosey down to the front of the track, partner up for 3 rounds of 20 PLTs. Head onto the field for a triple check: HRMs, Reverse Crunch, and run width of field & back.

Over to the Jerkin Gym, into groups of 4: Groups will have two PAX do 10 Jerkins each, while other 2 wheelbarrow back & forth. Switch when 1st group finishes their Jerkins. Repeato x3.

Over to the benches for everyone’s favorite, Benchkicks. 4 sets of 30 BKs and 10 Derkins. Mosey back up to blacktop. Lunge length of lot and do a Burpee each parking spot. Head back same lunge but do 5 Jumpsquats. 2 min of mary and done.

NMS: Offshore shared in the COT that he is taking a position at OU in Normal, OK and will be moving this summer. Sounds like there is a small F3 presence in Norman but we’re sure he will help them grow once he gets out there.

YHC was volun-told to Q this morning thanks to Handshake. A good nudge to get out.

  • 16 and Spring Break

Great numbers this morning with Henrico Spring Break finally being over. Stories of cruises, beaches, lost kids, fjords and diarrhea all morning long!

We started with some warmups in the front lot and then moseyed to the hill on the East side of the middle school. I’m still not sure what I will do for my annual Die Hard workout so we tested out this hill. We ran to the top as a group to make sure the construction did not create too many traps. We then did a triple check that I’m not sure we’ve ever done on this hill by the Pax reaction. Timer went down and up while the partners did HRM and Squats.

After that was over, we went to wall, told it F’ off, and then moseyed to the back of the elementary school to the “softball” field. It looked more like a backstop surrounding grass and random dirt patches but we used it anyway to kickoff softball season. We split up the group by bases, home plate was the timer with 10 burpees, they then relieved the first base group who was doing jump squats, who relieved the WW2 second base group, who relieved the 3rd base merkins team and so on. We went around twice for fun.

We then went to the bus pickup off Pemberton, found a pole, and did 20 pole smokers OTO, moseyed to the front lot of the elementary school and did a half lot bear crawl, then moseyed all the way back to the front lot of the middle school. We did some ab work for a few minutes then moseyed back to the flag for some LBCs, leg raise for a 30 Pigskin count and then ended with burpees.

    Good group for coffeeteria afterwards.

Prayers for Charlotte and her family.

    Thanks for letting me lead.

  • Nacho Libre BD Party

Spring break and the start of the teenage years, what a way to greet the Tuesday gloom at HBR.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • Ukrainian soldiers
      • Helicopters
      • Arm circles
      • DMH
      • Suzanne Somers
      • Merkins
      • LBC
      • Penguins

      • 100 HRM
      • 200 monkey humpers
      • 300 LBC
    • Mosey to the jerkin gym for 4x of 8 reps
    • Mosey to incline by the parking lot for some Bernies up the hill
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Great work from the PAX.  High reps, and no one to share them with.  HBD to Nacho Libre.  Vandelay has himself a teenager;  this one does not appear to be a headache yet.  Prayers up for various PAX members, especially those with family members dealing with poor health.

God is good all of the time!

  • Downranger with Mechancial Problems

9 regulars and 1 Downranger posted for a Heartbreak Hawt Potato

Apparently our Downranger had various flight issues which lead to him changing airlines entirely. Instead arriving in Richmond at 7:30 pm he didn’t arrive until after 11:00, and despite not getting to sleep until almost 1:00 he still posted. Respect.

Nobody was signed up to Q so YHC decided to do a Hawt Potato with YHC as the leadoff.

Handshake Q – Mosey to the QMS Bus Loop and do a COP. Mosey up to the front parking lot at PES for a Triple Check. P1 runs the Inner Loop P2 HRM P3 WWII’s.

Pinto Q – Mosey to the side parking lot at PES. Mini Dora. 50 Merkins, 75 Squats, 100 Heels to Heaven.

Cousin Eddy (Downrange) Q – Mosey back to the QMS Bus Loop and do an Indigenous Peoples Wall Sit. Mosey over near the Fuel Pumps and do an exercise in which YHC cannot remember, but it’s a Squat in which you go immediately into a Calf Raise then another Squat and go into a Jump Squat. Next a Merkin with your arms at normal width, then another Merkin with your right arm wide, then another Merkin with your left arm wide.

Lighthouse Q – FAST Mosey around the back of the school to the Parking Lot exit need to exercise equipment. Curb Crawls. 1 to 6 and then back down to 1.

    Atilla Q – 4 minutes of Mary

Announcements – Upchuck is looking for someone to take over his duties/responsibilities of ensuring F3 RVA has a Q at The Bridge once a month.

Prayer Requests – Fudd’s sister, Mary and her family. Roger Rogers FIL and his family. Wojo’s mom and his family. My M’s Cousin’s daughter, Charlotte, and her family.

NMS – It was nice to have Cousin Eddy today. T-Claps for a guy that only gets 4 hours of sleep after an extended travel time and still makes it to the workout.

  • Don’t pack up your cold weather gloves just yet

A dedicated dozen, of the bakers variety, fought their way through debris from last night’s storm to post at HBR. We did:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Helicopters, Ukrainian soldiers, Merkins, LBCs, Scorpion kicks. Mosey down to the end of the track for 2 rounds of 25 PLTs. Then over to the football field for a Beast: Merkins, WWIIs, Squats, HRMs, Jump Squats, Crunchy frogs.

Over to the Jerkin Gym only for the PAX to say it was too soggy. Instead over to benches for 3 rounds of: 30 Benchkicks, 15 Derkins. Mosey back to the parking lot. 2 rounds of sprints across the lot and back. Back to the Flag for 2 min of Mary then YHC took us out.

NMS: Several PAX posted even though they were without power this morning, way to wake up in the Gloom. Lots of whining about getting wet on the football field. Then everyone was treated with a wet ass stuck to the frosty benches on the benchkicks.

Pinto showed his dedication by waking his M up to cut up a tree that fell just so he could get to HBR this morning. Knowing his record with chainsaws that is impressive.

  • Tell Me More

12 men gathered at Heartbreak to grown as leaders.

Quick Indian Run, Care Bear Squared x 1, Weaving Indian Run to the elementary school, Lunges followed by sets of exercises; Weaving Indian Run Back, Chumba Wumba Burpees, Side straddle hops x 21 x 2, 10 Extra Burpees, Marys

Q Tip: Listening: Repeat the last word that is said or Prompt with “Tell Me More” or “What I’m hearing you say is…”

Announcements: 2nd F today. Welcome FNG Bogie!

  • Day 2 – Trying to find the dry spot

Almost a Bakers Dozen showed up under questionable weather forecasts for day 2 of Handshake week. The clock struck 0530 and the Pax grabbed the Coupons from YHC’s and Honrydo’s pickup truck (9 block in total).

We moseyed to the normal COP spot for a warm up, then we moseyed back to the main parking lot for a rare Quad Check. Four Men, Four Exercises, Four Times, revolutionary…

3:4 of the men in the group have Blocks. P1 – Curls for the Girls, P2 – Overhead Presses, P3 – Sit and Press, P4 – Runs to the Busses and back. This took quite a bit of time with the long run.

Circle up, 1 block every 4th man. Rotation of various exercises for 10 reps for men with the Coupons, and the 4th man does Burpees. Rotate through multiple times.

Mosey back to the flag to finish with 10 seconds of Flutter Kicks while Atilla complained.

Announcements – 2nd Tuesday WestHoe lunch next Tuesday 3/10 at Noon, see slack for location.

Prayer Requests – Whitesnakes dad needs to have a heart procedure in preparation for a knee surgery. Pinto’s BIL is having/has head his Prostate removed due to Prostate Cancer.

NMS – The numbers were slightly lower than normal given the questionable weather, but YHC was glad to see most of the usual suspects. Day 2 down, 4 left. Tomorrow is the official 8 year anniversary.
