Browsing: Miles of Truth

Midlothian Middle

According to the startled joggers on the track, here’s how it went down… 2.2 mile loop doubled. After the second loop we went down for a hotlap on the track which Doozy led us on a blazing sub 6min pace. We jogged back to the flag just as we hit 5 miles. Lots of great chatter today. At some point YHC found out that Boberry had switched jobs 2/3 months ago. While most would assume the only possible explanation for YHC not knowing this information is if I have really been in the fart sack for that long. However, the…

6 dudes knew more or less the route and that they were in for some intervals from MOT. 530 struck and we hit the mean streets of Midlo. According to the few cars that passed, this is how it went down. Route was 4.5 miles, including the Manders climb and finishing with Mt Midlo. Once we got going we did a little warm up with some carioke , high knees, and butt kickers. After we were warmed up it was time for the main event. 1 min of pushing the pace faster than your normal pace, 2 min of slower…

YHC was joined by 5 fleet of foot gentlemen for a simple taper run for those setting up for the Petersburg Half this weekend. An out and back was on the agenda – Down Mt. Midlo, right on Woolridge, left on Charter Colony – turn around and come back. Negative splits were an option, Doozy tried to run to Chester, and there were more hills than expected on that route. I don’t know that we hit much of a flat spot or easy grade on that one. Well done gentlemen. Good luck to Don Draper and Tobit at the Petersburg…

SOT or MOT? Of all the PAX hanging out at Midlo Middle at 530am, three decided to hit the streets for a run. Down Mt. Midlo, up the Grove hill, down Manders, back up Woolridge to Charter Colony, and finally back to MMS. Mileage was just under 5 this morning and with a few minutes to spare, we joined up with the SOT PAX for some alphabet tracers. Numbers, names with the SOT PAX. Honeymoon took us out. Announcements: -SOJ happy hour, 5:30/6ish, 4/14 at Diamond Billiards -CSAUP coming in early May….details to come from Gomer NMS: Rosetta has recently…

According to the bus drivers sitting in the gloom laughing at 4 skinny, old men trying to break into the high school track for some hot laps… Warmup: 1.5 mile jog to midlo high. a-skip, b-skip, high knees, butt kickers The Thang: 5 x 600ish meters @ just under threshold pace w/30 sec recovery Outro: 1.5 sluggish miles back to the flag. Yikes, that hurt a little. numberama, prayers, out.

On an especially cold and windy morning 3 men met for some running. We found some hills. Hill repeats on Mt Pisgah and Mt Midlo with timed efforts, recovery, and specific areas to work on. Everyone crushed it! Good mumble chatter that day about kids and Pokémon life lessons.

In 4 and a half years with F3, YHC has never Q’ed a Running AO. Today the cherry was popped. 6 Truth Seekers ran the following route : Head west on Midlo Turnpike, Left on LeGordon then take that until it connects to Charter Colony, cross Charter Colony and enter dirt trail behind Midlothian High School Football Stadium, Right on Bluegrass Road, Left on S Carriage Ln, Right on Coalfield, Left on Woolridge then head all the way to Midlo Turnpike, Left on Midlo Turnpike then back to Midlo Middle (4.12 miles at this point. YHC continued around the school,…

With the purity of OC’s cadence never in question, the runners ditched the track this week for some miles through Salisbury. 530 arrived with three boot campers and five runners present. Boberry and Doublemint started a ruck at 5 and were expected back for the start. Alas, deep conversation must have ensued b/c neither were anywhere to be found at 530. So five started off on a five mile run that included hills and some tempo (thanks to Rosie). BTTF with one minute to spare. Bootcampers joined us. OC led COT and took us out. Boberry’s car was still in…

Track day menu. Amuse bouche: 0.5mile warm up Starters: active stretching (A skip, B skip, high knees, Carioca). Mains: Ladder 4x200m, 2x400m, 2x800m, and 2x400m. Pacing (~mile+1min). 200m active recovery between reps/sets. Postres: 5min cool down. Back to the flag to join with the bootcampers. DTH and Boberry took us out. Merci a tout le monde qui sont venus

10 fine gentlemen showed up to do something no man has ever done before. Unfortunately, they couldn’t figure out what that was so 6 decided to hot potato a bootcamp and the other 4 decided this was a fine week to launch the new MOT (Miles of Truth) run club. The bootcampers came back looking sweaty so they were probably spritzing some water on their faces from the middle school water fountains. The runners did a 1.5 mile warm up, a few cadence drills on the track, then launched into the Magic Mile and a few 400 repeats. Fun times…
