Midlothian Middle

  • The Wallflowers

On a beautiful fall morning, four PAX set out on a four mile route, bro code style. According the bus drivers performing safety checks, this is more or less how it went down.

Down Mount Midlo, around the pond, under Woolridge, and down the path. At the actual mine ruins, take a sharp left and back to Woolridge. Left on Woolridge and take it to Charter Colony. Turn into the high school parking lot and take the path behind the football field back to Coalfiled, then right onto 60 and straight on til morning.

Great run today fellas! Mix of paces today but we started and finished together, coming back for the 6 here and there. As the F3 credo says, “leave no man behind, leave no man where you found him”. Daddy daughter dance Saturday at 7 at WEAG, more details and sign up is on Slack. Prayers for Wedding Singer’s recovery.

    have a good one !

  • No One Likes Hills

But we did them anyways, and now my legs hurt.

We headed around the Mt Pisgah. Loop and did the hills twice. That’s when Bullseye decided he didn’t want to do hills so he trekked out on his own. Then we went down Mt Midlo and over to the steady climb up the back side of Honeymoon Hill. We circled back to Mt Midlo where we stayed at race pace for the first half and Bernie Sanders the second half. Finally we ended with a couple sets of suicides and a Bernie up the hill beside the track.

numberama, namerama, yhc prayed us out.

Family camping in 1.5 weeks. Father/daughter dance in 2.5 weeks, chili cook off in 5.5 weeks. Prayers for Heist’s neighbor.

  • Make Sure You Go Through the Tunnel

We finally had a cold morning! For YHC, this represents ideal running conditions. After speeding into the parking lot at the last minute and providing the route – we were off.

    Down Mt Midlo
Take the Staircase onto the path by the pond
    Through Midlothian Mines Park
Up the Hill, take a left (or right) at the main road
Find your way back however you want.

At 6:15, everyone was accounted for.

    Numbers/Names/Announcements/Prayer Requests

Final Thoughts: This was my first time leading MOT – we seem to have a nice core group that has risen from the ashes of Source of Truth. It sounds like we are going to have a strong turnout for the Marathon/Half Marathon next month.

    SYITG
  • Run with Pain Stations

Great morining for a run while stopping every mile or so do some Merkins and other exercises while still getting in a little over 4 miles. Good size group and strong work!

  • MOT-LEY CRUE

A crew of 7 showed up for a soggy MOT run. No Q on the sheet, ideas were presented, 4s took off into Salisbury and the 5s went somewhere else and YHC didn’t catch the route.

What to say, it was a wet run but a strong showing for less than desirable weather.

I am forgetting who the 7th runner was, a 5 miler. I put Draper down but I can’t recall if he was there or someone else. Touch base with me to edit if needed.

  • Anyone got any ideas?

7 gathered with reflective gear and headlamps ready to get some miles in but with no one on the Q sheet the group was queried about where to get these miles. After turning down a second week of track work and determining that Greenbow was not going to post, Honeymoon suggested the YMCA route. Straight out and back on Coalfield past the YMCA – turnaround when you want and head back.

Doozy spent some time with each of the pairs – Draper/Rosie, Honeymoon/House Party, Singer/Bullseye, and everyone made it back in time – success.

After a few weeks of only runners, we are officially pulling SOT off the AO list for now. It may some back in some form or fashion but the runners have taken over this AO for now. Sorry to see it go but such is the life of F3, do what works and move on.

Prayers for Gumbo and his family

  • 3 for 3.5

3 Runners got together at MOT this morning, Singer wanted to explore the Salisbury side of Midlothian so Bullseye took the lead

YHC couldn’t really tell you the route but there was a dirt road involved, a history lesson about the Weaver family and a last push up the hill.

BTTF Numbers / Names YHC took us out

NMS: Good to hang out with Singer and Bullseye this morning, go out and make it a great day guys

  • Leave One Man Behind

Rather than leading blindly, YHC called in Doozy for a big assist.

Here’s where he suggested we go as best I can figure:

    • R on Midlothian
    • R on Woolridge
    • L on Walton Park Rd
    • L on Queensgate Rd
    • R on Watch Hill Rd
    • L on Walton Park Rd
    • R on Woolridge back to VSF (4s)
    • L on Woolridge (5s)
    • L on trail at Midlothian Mines Park continue through tunnel (5s)
    • Exit trail onto Grove Hill Rd up “Mt. Midlo” back VSF (5s)

    MOLESKIN

One last tour stop for YHC, might as well go out with a bang and Q it.  Except that Qing a run without proper reconnaissance might just get someone killed.  Thanks again to Doozy for the help.  Good numbers despite the launch at Green Mile and nice to catch up with Rosie, House Party, Bullseye and others.  Thanks also for the hospitality.
