Midlothian Middle

3 runners gathered to dodge the rain drops or what seamed like it could pass for sleet. The route was SOT to Timberwolf and back – basically 3.5 miles one way. YHC’s Garman said 6.87 miles total Don Draper and Greenbow took a slight detour and put in 4 miles YHC didn’t make it back in time for the COT but got to talk with a few of the guys before heading off into the Gloom. NMS: It was cold and wet, embrace the suck

10 runners started out excited that the route included going down Manders. Somehow it was lost that going down that hill also meant up Grove Hill and Honeymooon hill. Good pick up of speed through the middle mile to stretch out the legs. The half-marathon runners are ready for a couple rest days before heading downtown to the starting line. We’re all ready to go, the journey is the destination, the training has been fun now let’s log the time our watches expect us to finish, sit back, and enjoy. Starbucks afterwards was excellent. Next week YHC will have the…

5 elite runners took to the pavement with an out&back route on Coalfield. With a easy and route, all energy went to planning the next great CSAUP. Option 1: Teams of 3 gather for a run & bike relay from Williamsburg to Richmond on the Capital Trail (50 miles) Option 2: Teams of 5 gather for a run & bike relay up Skyline Drive (120 miles) Option 3: Something similar but more stupid, like 500 miles stupid. We agreed to do them all, in order. So… who else is up for the challenge?

4 runners rocked a previously carved route through Salisbury. https://onthegomap.com/s/cogor4mc No humidity today. Much more pleasant than September when we did this before. Great push by all.

Not enough guys for Draper to pull out a Magic Mile so the group opted for a loop into Salisbury with modifications on the fly – Bullseye opted to run in the dark down the gravel road. Good conversation made the pace pick up through the middle miles.

4 early risers launched at 5:10 for a couple easy pre-game extra miles to stay on track with Half training, then we swung back by the launch site to pick up 3 more runners for the main attraction – 5 miles through the Mines trails UP Queensgate and DOWN Manders. Turns out it sucks a little bit either way you go. Boberry took a spill in the road under construction but kept on trucking, and he, Rosie, and Rosetta turned on the burners in Queensgate. Heist held on for a mile or so. Honeymoon and YHC kept the reasonable pace.…

6 runners left the boot campers behind for a warm up but looped back to share the track with them. Warm up mile together around AmFam and the new development and to the track. 800 repeats x4 ,then one last mile because, why not? Good conversation on the track. Thanks for letting me lead and putting up with my decision to run laps today. Lunch Thursday at Rusty Taco, chime in if a better day of the week works for future SOJ lunches.

2 mile loop x 2.something mile wu with all pax, 3 miles of tempo followed by a mile CD to bring the group all back together. stretching and done. Joined up with SOT for circle stuff….

In a rare SOT/MOT crossover, 10 PAX met at the midlo middle school. IronPAX had come to the track! Time hit and we were off! The following was the routine: One lap around track 5 BDE burpees one lap around the track 5 BDE Merkins rinse and repeat for 45 minutes your score is how many meters you run. Most got about 3-4 miles in today!time called and we went back to the flag. numbers, names, announcements, YHC took us out. lots going on in F3RVA! Love for Liv on Sat! next week is 9yr convergence at the crucible and…

A combo meal of 13 runners and walkers (and one canine) jetted off in the gloom this morning for an ambitious (maybe just plain stupid) route through Salisbury. https://onthegomap.com/s/cogor4mc Combination of the humidity and pace made this one tough for me. Thanks to the three rabbits (Boberry, Rosetta and Tobit) for keeping the pace. Thanks to our sheepdog Doozy for checking on the six and his encouraging words.
