Huguenot Park

  • A NoToll Celebration

17 of YHC’s closest friends joined in the Gloom for a birthday celebration and a pre-Thanksgiving workout. The rain held off, mostly, and this is what transpired:

Start off with 20 merkins OYO and the announcement that those would occur every 4 and a half minutes throughout the workout for a total of 200 merkins.

Mosey to the back lot for traditional COP, started off with 46 SSHs IC and several other exercises, interrupted twice for merkin sets.

    THE THANG:

Modified Lindsays – mosey over to the side field for modified Lindsays – today we were counting to 46. Start on side one with 30 jump squats and 10 2-ct mountain climbers, run half way stop for 6 SSHs, continue to other side for 25 and 15 and so on until you complete 10 jump squats and 30 2-ct mountain climbers stopping in the middle each time for 6 SSHs and of course pausing for merkin sets at the appropriate times.

Pavilion Circuit – mosey to the pavilion for cover that YHC didn’t know we needed. Exercises were 10 step-ups, 20 dips and 30 2-ct Freddies, then choose your own adventure – either run a lap around 1 field or bear crawl or lunge around the pavilion – your choice, mix n match, You v You. 5 sets. Yes – stopping for merkin sets as called.

BTTF for 2 and a half minutes of Mary and one last (10th) set of 20 merkins OYO.

    COT, Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayers.

NMS:  What a pleasure it was to have my dear missionary friend Dr Mark Crouch join us this morning. On our last missions trip to Papua New Guinea, Mark and a number of other missionaries and kids joined in, and his son Levi gave him the nickname “NoGrass” which means no hair in the native language (he’s bald). Mark is an extremely skilled physician who I have been deeply grateful to count as a brother and mentor when serving in the field. His wife and four kids have been serving there for 11 years, and we have really enjoyed our time serving in PNG alongside them. Our next trip back is coming up in Mar-May 2025 so your prayers and support are welcome! Check out our Blog link below for more info and to follow along with all the picture and stories. Yours AYE! ~DTH

THE PAX did an incredible job of supporting the “Q”

  • Wiley Veterans

13 gamers made their way out to No Toll to play a game that they could not win. According to 2 Pop and his run crew this is what went down.

Mosey to the bridge and pay the entree fee. 20 Incline Merkins, 20 Dips

Mosey to the “not Pickle Ball” courts (sorry Oyster) for the COP – DQ’s, Helicopters, Dead Man Hangs, Merkins, LBCs,

Mosey to the parking lot for the main event

21’s YHC will count SSH to 18 then the PAX has to continue to count (IN THEIR HEAD) to 21. This is where the veterans who have played this game took it upon themselves to continue counting even though YHC had stopped cadence. YHC did appreciate that they continued counting as one without cadence but that’s not how the game works. Punishment #1 Run a lap, PAX continued this until all punishments where given out

Run, American Hammers, Plank Jacks, Imperial Walkers, Dips, SSH which if you take the first letter from each spells RAPIDS. The last High school Baseball game of the fall ball season is tonight, GO Rapids

Move to the base line for Parking lot crawls to 10 and back with Lunges and Squats

    Mosey to the corner, regular 4 corners 10 – American Hammers, 20 – WWII’s, 30 – LBC’s, 40 – Sugar Sticks

BTTF – For a ring of fire 10 of your favorite ab exercise while PAX holds their favorite Lazy Boy position

Numbers / Names Chaplain took us out

NMS: YHC saw the Q sheet was open so seized the opportunity. 21’s is a way to keep everyone involved but everyone is a winner when nobody wins. I think that might have come from a book I read about Yogi Berra – “I never said most of the thing I said”

  • A Wise Man Once Said: Set the Bar Low, and Always Run it Back

Mosey back to the flag for Numbers/Names/ Announcements/Prayer Requests

    YHC took us out

Final thoughts – It was a homecoming of sorts for YHC as I realized I hadn’t Q’d No Toll in almost 3 years. Strange considering it is the closest AO to my house. The PAX did an amazing job, despite some initial grumbling about running. The running was actually pretty effective in curbing the Chatty Kathy’s in the group. Doozy was the hero we all needed, lighting the path back to the pavilion. Strong effort by all.

NMS:  Crisp fall air, jovial mumble chatter, achieving 998 reps, and a 1998 Will Smith inspired playlist – what could be better! Strong work from the PAX pushing through to complete the challenge – YHC will Q #999 at Ruckhenge tomorrow, and then the big 1K will be on Thur at the Forge – LOTS of questions about whether we’ll all be arrested. Nantan Rosie has a plan… Thanks for letting me lead fellas. Yours AYE! ~DTH

  • No Take Backs

14 able bodied, hip thrusting construction workers assembled at No Toll to pass the flaming hot potato around to see what mash ups could be created. Conditions were ideal for the pumpkin spice season. With watches close enough in sync, off we go. This how things went down.

Last Call Q: Mosey to the main parking lot for welcome, introductions, disclaimers and warm ups that included SSH’s, Imperial Walkers, Helis, Deadman Hang, DQ’s, Dead Man Hang, Merkins, LBC’s, and Freddies. Mosey to the far edge of the parking lot for triple check. Timer runs 2 islands, exercises were curb crawls and pole smokers. Q is passed..

Bromance Q: With attention to detail Q noticed 4 light poles surrounding the lot. 5 merkins at each pole with various methods to travel to each pole including Bernies, Karaoke, Mosey, etc. One round was enough. Q is passed…

Last Call Q: Pass the Q….

Snuff Q: Mosey back to the playground under construction to collect cones or construction barrels. Indigenous peoples run while farmer carrying your item. Route when back thru the parking lot and back to the playground. Take the orange prop and perform 30 WWII’s follow by 30 Bobby Conies. Much fun was had. Time to pass the Q….

L Woods Q: Restore your prop to its original location mosey back to the parking lot with a brief stop at the bridge to pay the toll with dips and elevated merkins. Continue the mosey for Cocaine Bears. Bearcrawl across the parking lot stopping at each line for 1 merkin. Its a big parking lot. Pass the Q…

Last Call Q: Pass the Q…

Dealer Q: Mosey over the field. Partner up for Semi Dora. Timer runs across the field and back. 100 Dips, 200 2 count flutters. Pass the Q..

Last Call Q: MBTTVF. Pass the Q…

Snuff Q: Before reaching the flag. Stop off at our favorite props of cones and barrels for 40 Alabama Cone Dates. With great satisfaction and relief Q is passed…

Last Call Q: AG for 30 seconds. Names, Numbers, Announcements, Prayers. Wedding Singer took us out.

Announcements; Sober October is still happening. Support those that need it and could not be with us today.

NMS: With vacancy on the Q sheet yesterday, YHC was fearful of a Doozy Q or other vicious beatdown, so took it with thoughts of spreading the Q to others that have not Q’d recently. Great variety but multiple trips to and from the parking lot, left YHC feeling like it was a Doozy Q. Alabama Conies are much preferred to Mankillers. Great mumble chatter and laughs were had, especially with Snuffs favorite props. Well done fellas. Always good starting the day off in this great company.

  • Cindy Suckfest

Fifteen F3RVA regulars gathered in the NoToll parking lot for a long-overdue NTB beatdown. One potential FNG cruised through the park during COP #1 and would have stayed had Orange Crush not scared him away. This is what he observed from a safe distance:

    Warmarama

    • Circle up on the basketball court. OC crushed (pun intended) the F3 mission statement and we proceeded with various IC warm-up exercises.

    COP #1 – Suicide Bear

    • Line up along the baseline for bear crawl suicides with a Bernie back to the starting line.
    • At the far baseline we started with 12 merkins and then decreased the merkin count each time a line was reached.
    • Working 12 merkins down to 1 equaled three bear crawl suicides in total.
    • The wet conditions definitely increased the bear crawl difficulty and much was said about how long we spent on the court.

COP #2 – Heavy Cindy the Prostitute

    • Mosey down to the dumpster enclosure to pick up cindy’s for the following four corners, prostitute style:
      • Corner 1: 10 curls for the gurls
      • Corner 2: 10 cindy squats
      • Corner 3: 10 cindy rows
      • Corner 4: 10 cindy ground-to-overhead
    • To quote RVA’s new Nantaan, this really sucked! Carrying a cindy the whole time and then moving it a different way at each corner kept us under load for the full duration.
    • Two styles of cindy were available, heavy and heavier. By the end we were struggling. Respect also to the guys nursing injuries who wisely modified as needed to ensure a solid four corners beatdown.
    • Mosey back to the flag, stopping briefly to pay the toll with 10 dips and 10 single count step-ups.

    COT

    • Numbers, names, announcements, and prayer requests. YHC took us out!
      • Sober October starts today! Join the 15+ HIMs electing to abstain from a vice this month. See Slack for the dedicated channel.
      • Prayers for Orange Crush’s coworker who is screening for potential cancer ten years after beating it the first time.
      • Prayers for the NTB’s who are four-weeks out from welcoming another baby girl into the family.
      • Praise for Lone Wolf’s dad’s knee surgery!
        • After spending his adult life working as a mason to earn a living to put his three kids through college, his knee was overdue for a replacement. Yesterday his own son, Lone Wolf’s brother, performed the surgery on his dad. How fitting that we also put in a little block work today.
  • Belay On!

Not one for stats or backblast. Belay logged over 250 various merkins with 17 H.I.M.s in his VQ.

For those who are keeping track this is what happened.

Warmarama: SSH, DQ, IWs, UKs, Merkins, WWII, etcs.

    Toll: 20 incline, 10 decline

    4×4: 20 Merkins, 20 lunges 2 count, 20 CDDs, 20 Squats 4 corners on the 3 fields and 1 parking lot.

    countdown burpees around the shelter.

finish with alternating 10 merkins, 20 LBCs.

Next backblast is on you buddy.

Announcements: CPR courses sign up with Flatline, Ruckhenge tomorrow for some Q source. Welcome Nantan Rosie.
