  • Tarrington for Two

Two grizzled vets posted to River Run to put in some work. The Twin Team hill beckoned, but with age comes wisdom, so the PAX decided to sneak up on it from behind. The Tarrington Loop was called, with a bonus lap around BWES at the end to round out the mileage to 5+. Many thanks to Doozy for coming back to pick up YHC on those rolling hills.

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

    Make it a great one!

  • It’s a simple but good route…

It’s been a long time since YHC had the Q much less seen Betty Weaver ES on a Monday morning. There was some mumblechatter on slack Sunday night about River Run, but 5 road warriors liked the route and we were all up for a 5 mile run. 0530…time to run. Until we saw Boberry coming in hot and circled back to scoop him.

5 mile route-Up Twin Team, Right on East Brigstock and running to the where Brigstock changed to Netherfield and back to BWES!

Boberry had to boogie to work.

Numberama, Namerama, Announcements: Puppy Pile this Saturday, 0700 after Dogpile. See DTH.

    Don Draper took us out.

NMS: It was an honor and privilege to pound the pavement this morning with you gentlemen. Remember….dig deep and get it all out!

  • The hill is calling

What happens when Doublemint and Doozy get together? They go looking for a hill to tackle.

No warm up just a straight run up and down Twin Team X3 followed by a lap around JRHS track and back to BW

Numbers / Names Doublemint took us out

    NMS:

Had a long conversation with the custodian from BW after our run. She has a very caring heart and is exactly who I would want to be watching my kids as they go through the halls of BW. She did tell us about her son and some of the trouble he is in with the law right now so YHC is asking that we all be in prayer for him and that he finds his way to Jesus and turns his life around.

  • Shake n Bake

Like Cal and Ricky Bobby, a dynamic duo left it all out on the track today. Here’s how it went:

800m mosey from BWES to Swamp

    400 warmup

800 fast on turns, moderate on straight

    400 recovery

800 fast on straights, moderate on turns

    400 recovery

    800 moderate lap, fast lap

    400 recovery

    800 moderate lap, fast lap

    400 recovery

    800 fast lap, fast lap

    400 recovery

    800 mosey BTTF

numbers, names, YHC took us out

NMMS: prayers for EF Hutton’s speedy recovery. YHC appreciates all the support as we mourn my sister’s passing. F3RVA definitely got me in the right place to be able to help my family through.

    Make it a great one!!

  • Trifecta

Two thoroughbreds and a clydesdale put themselves through their paces at the Swamp – here’s how it went:

. 5 mi mosey from BWES to the swamp

4 x 400 = slow start to fast finish each lap

    2 x 400 = moderate pace recovery

4 x 400 = fast on the turns, moderate on the straights

    2 x 400 = moderate pace recovery

    400 = 3/4 moderate, 1/4 fast

    400 = 1/2 moderate, 1/2 fast

    400 = 1/4 moderate, 3/4 fast

400 = fast all the way

    .5 mi mosey BTTF

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

NMMS: YHC is planning to make River Run Reboot a regular thing. Will come prepared with a track workout du jour but would welcome some company and neighborhood routes (e.g. Riverdowns, OG Tarrington, Twin Team hill repeats — well, not those ….)

  • Did I miss the memo?

River Run party of one this morning. YHC admits he hasn’t posted here for few couple months, did I miss a memo about River Run being cancelled altogether? Appears it’s missing from the Q sign up sheet.

Anyway, Old School Tarrington route commenced for 4 milers.

  • A river, a track, and a hill

YHC arrived solo about 5:20 and remained solo until time hit 5:30 so away we go! According to the cellular device bouncing off the beer belly it went something like this:

Run down to the river, enjoy view on both docks. Mosey back up to the track around the swamp. Ran a few Boberry biscuits without the burpees. Ran around by ball fields and up Twin Team. The back down to the flag. Ended with about four and a half miles.

    NMM

Beautiful view of the sunrise over the river made it worth the sweat. However YHC will probably not be back anytime soon unless there’s confirmation of another PAX planning to post.

  • A beautiful day in the neighborhood …

A beautiful day in the neighborhood …

Three gloom warriors shed the fart sack to get the week started right at River Run. Here’s how it went:

4s: up Twin Team hill, thank the lady walking her dog for the supportive comments, right on Brigstock and right on Mt. Hill around to Brigstock again. Left on Brigstock and take Ellesmere to Glendower – 3/4 of the Powderham Loop and back to Twin Team (downhhill this time!!) and BTTF.

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

NMMS: even without bear crawls or burpees or mankillers, that Twin Team hill is a beast no matter how you slice it. Was great to catch up with Bullseye and Wedding Singer – tclaps to Bullseye for collecting YHC’s shovel flag last week when YHC had to jet IMMEDIATELY after the run due to a confluence of Starbucks and Metamucil. Have a great week gents!

  • Clearing out the cobwebs…

  • Just Like Old Times….

    Just Like Old Times….

Three amigos posted to River Run to burn off some of those Fathers Day liquid calories. Nothing fancy here – just the OG Tarrington to Twin Team loop. On motion duly made, seconded, and unanimously carried, it was resolved to incorporate more routes down by the river at Robious Landing Park. The hills sucked this morning, but the sunrise was magnificent. Mr. Roper and his peloton whizzed by with some words of encouragement. Bullseye and YHC called it done at 4; Lugnut busted out another mile for 5.

    Go get some today!
