    Mosey to the bus lot for COP

    DQ’s, Helicopters, Russian Soldiers, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Susan Summers (These put the Pain in COP on the ruff asphalt), Ameriacan Hammers and scrunchy frogs

    Mosey back to the front of the school

    The real Door Dash

    Alternate between Merkins, American Hammers and Ball dippers. At each door stop and do the number of the exercise that your on. At door 20 because there is an A and B do 40 Merkins.

    It was nice to have Rosie and Gumbo out with us again. Nancy is single handedly carrying the reputation of the New Market crew Oh wait we forgot Rosetta is a New Market guy…. I guess we might have forgot about Rosetta, it must be that little car he drives.

  • Wilson, I Lay This Hate on You

    12 or 13 regulars attended a choose your path workout at SOT. Four went running, the rest took off into the gloom. Here’s what transpired over the following 45-50 minutes.

    Mosey to lower soccer/football field, line up on the end line.

    Bursts/Charlotte 100s workout, courteous of Mr. Lug Nut.

    Warmup – Don Q, SSH, Heels. in between each exercise, jog to the other end of field (100 yds) and return.

    5 minutes of 100 yd dashes back and forth.

    Partner up – catch me if you can. Partner 1 does 2 burpees and catch, partner 2 backwards run across field. Switch and repeat back 100 yds. Second round: partner 1 – 2 merkins and catch, partner 1 run 100 yds. Switch and repeat.

    4 minutes of 100 yd dashes or perhaps it was 100 yd dashes at 50%, 75% and 100%. YHC forgets.

    Burst Beast – no stopping at hashes, simply run 100 yds across field and perform all 18 reps at the other end, return to start and complete other 18 reps. PAX called exercises – merkins, American Hammers, dry docks, BURPEES.

    Audible from Burst Beast to final 4 minutes of 100 yd dashes OYO.

    YHC thanks all for participating in this ancient SOT Lug Nut workout that hadn’t surfaced in 4 or 5 years. A few PAX members were in attendance for both. The story goes Charlotte completed 75 100-yd dashes in the 45 minutes. Doozy probably did somewhere between 50 I’d estimate, though we did break up the monotony with a few other exercises, more than Lug did if I recall correctly. Although there were a lot of groans from the PAX as YHC rolled out the details, everyone appeared to be getting after it and put in a great effort.

    Clarification for the title, which is a song lyric, burpees may very well have not made an appearance in this particular modified beast. But that will never be known as Wilson took the reins and called it out to much distaste from others in hopes to get it out of the way. YHC wanted to make it known both on and off the field that Wilson made the call, so the love (or hate) was properly given in his general direction.

    Didn’t see the runners but hopefully they returned safely. Dogs and kids.

    9 Mighty men of valor rose from the fart sack to great the perfect morning temperatures of 70 and sunny at SOT and according to the bus drivers this is what happened

    It is apparent that the New Market crew has not been to a Doozy Q in a while and probably never ventured up to the Forge for a DTH Q. Wilson and Duke had many questions about what Arm Pretzels where and when it came to Tooth Fairies close enough seemed to be the call of the day. A good time was had by all and the bakery has really ramped up their game in the cooler weather, YHC thought he might loose a couple passing by that area.

  • Source of Leg Discomfort

    Eight denizens of the greater SOJ geographic area linked up once again for another round of fun that we call Source of Truth. We were evenly divided between bootcampers and runners. The high humidity and illuminated football field left little doubt that a good time would be had by all. Here is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure:

    Mosey to the lower parking lot for warmups:
    walking Russian Soldiers, walking Helicopters, walking Big Arm Circles, Forward Straddle Hops, Hillbillies, Lunge Walk, LBC’s, Hand Release Merkins.

    Mosey to the track area for Exercise One:
    3 rounds of the following:
    50 jump squats, 20 pole smokers, Bear Crawl up the big staircase with a merkin every other stair. Run around to the grass hill and Crab Walk down. The Pax split up and did these OYO.

    Mosey to the upper football practice field for Exercise Two:
    Divide the field into 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full. Run and do 10 exercises at each interval:
    WWII sit ups, Heels to Heaven, American Hammers, Hello Dolly’s, Alabama Prom Dates, Freddie Mercuries.

    Mosey to Victory Hill – 7 times run up and down, alternating PAX

    Exercise 4: Battan Death March – line up and Bear Crawl down the field – man in the back does 5 burpees, then run to the front.
    *mercifully called due to time constraints.

    Back to the flag for numbers/names/announcements.

    YHC took us out.

    Final thoughts: Outstanding effort by all today. For unknown reasons, that upper football field was absolutely soaked; despite a lack of rain or any visible sprinkler system. Defied the laws of nature! We were all drenched and covered in grass and mud.

    Runners were looking strong! I heard they completed 5.5 miles or so. Those guys have been getting after it preparing for the marathon. Well done.

    kicked to yours truly to finish. I went Kung fu style with dan’s dojo. Run up the hill, many front, side and round kicks, Kung fu hustle and a Mary ring at the flag.

    Announcements and prayer requests, Doozy took us out with a good word. There is no finer set of gentlemen to work out with than my F3 bros. Grace and peace ✌?

  • Is this a running AO?

    4 Men and 2 runners faced the sweat of SOT. YHC had pushed arrival to the brink but Hermie had a solid pick me up to get me there on time. As the bus horn blew we were off.

    Mosey to the front bus loop for COP. 20 each: SSH, LBC’s, 10 each: DQ’s, Cherry pickers, Deadman hang, Helicopters, Arm circles +reverso, Merkins,

    The Thang: Mosey to the track. Run full lap stopping on some corners for some beat downs. 1st lap: 25 plank jacks, 2nd lap: 25 Lunges, 3rd lap 25 box cutters, 4th lap, 25 merkins, 5th lap 2 20 count bernies on straight always and 2 kareoke on the corners. Mosey to hill. PArtner up. PArtner 1 run to the top PArtner 2 Lunge then 2nd exercise ?? Mosey BTF for 2 ring of fire merkins followed by 2 minutes of stretching.

  • Why did you quit!

    A party of 5 posted at SOT for a beat down and 3 rabbits came to run. The mumble chatter started out of the gate with one of the runners asking one of the PAX “Why did you quit running”. HAHA chuckles were felt by all. At the stroke of 5:30 off we went.

    The the front bus loop for COP. 20 Each SSH, LBC’s, 10 each DQ’s, cherry pickers, helicopters, IW’s, MErkins, Flutters,. Mosey to back down stadium stairs to the track.

    The Thang: Quintuple check. Runner, Monkey humpers, squats, LBC’s, hand release merkins. 1st run around track, 2nd and 3rd 200 yds, 4th and 5th up the stadium stairs and back. 5 rounds complete. Lunge up stairs and mosey BTF. 2 minutes of stretching. Not the most taxing work today but we got it done.

  • Someone Murder that Bunny!!!

    6 Ground and pounders and 3 fleet footed runners made it out to a Doozy Q on a sunny and 70 degree morning with about 1,000% Humidity.

    DQ’s, Helicopters, Hillbillies, Russian Soldiers, Merkins, LBC’s

    Mosey to the side walk by the school split up into an A team and a B team (3 per side) 2 partners hold plank while partner 1 runs to touch a tree on the other side. Switch until there is a winner. Team B won the race so doors it is.

    Mosey to the first door, Exercises are alternate between squats and 2 count lunges. To get to the next door alternate between bear crawls and murder bunnies. Between door 10 and 11 switch to a Bernie Sanders and run between the doors, exercises stay the same. Between door 20 and 21 switch back to bear crawls and murder bunnies. Between door 30 and 31 switch again.

    Work on some elevens with the curbs on either side

    10 Incline merkins and 1 decline merkins with a bear crawl and crawl bear in between time called because Wilsons watch runs fast

    NMS:

    YHC had a plan and the workout was going to be the same regardless, the race at the beginning was just to determine the location. If team A would have won we would have basically done the same exercises but it would have been on the track instead of at the doors. While enjoying the murder bunnies along the back side of the school Wilson spotted a bunny and the suggestion was made to kill it and maybe that would somehow end the pain that was being inflicted. At that point apparently nobody had the energy to chase the bunny and see if it would work.
