    Moleskin: YHC changed into his F3 attire at work. As expected, there were questions: “Where are you going?”, “It’s raining”, “You’re working out outside in this heat?”, “You’re crazy.” Then there’s the traffic, the sun, and the humidity. A thousand excuses to come up with by 6:00pm on why I can’t make it. But if you conquer all that, you’ll be wonderfully surprised to find a great AO and some of the best F3 guys around. Great to meet Slider, Banksy, G Force and Birdman. Well done today boys.

  • Beat the Lightning, Brought the Rainbow

    WARMERAMA:

    • Mosey through the back-brush and circle up in the North lot
    • F3 Welcome & Disclaimer to Birdman’s FNG, later named “DaGator”.

    COP #1: Wounded Bear Crawl

    • Following the Parking lot curb, we kept Left Hand and Left Foot on the high curb and RH, RF on the asphalt so our Bear Crawl was uneven feeling like a wounded Bear. Switch high side on the way back.

    COP #2: “Wave of Merkins” (up to 9)

    • Circle up in Plank Position. Creating a Wave and starting with 1 we did a Merkin and passed to the right. Went to 2 and pass around, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9

    COP #3: “The Cycle”

    • Bear Crawl 1st leg of square and then do 3 Burpees, mosey back to start
    • Bear Crawl 1st and 2nd leg of square into 6 Burpees, mosey back to start
    • Lunge first leg and Bear Crawl 2nd and 3rd Leg before doing 6 Burpees, mosey back to start.
    • Lunge 1st and 2nd Leg, Bear Crawl 3rd and 4th leg to start before finishing with 6 Burpees.

    COP #4: “Vicious Cycle”

    • Like an Aboriginal Run but in a square with last man running to the middle to do 5x exercise called and then running to the front.

    • Circle up in ready position. Creating a Wave and starting with 1 we did a LBC and passed to the right. Went to 2 and passed around, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9

    NMS:  110 degree pavement literally saps the energy out of you – YHC hasn’t been this gassed in a while ya’ll. Deep appreciation and respect for the HIM’s who continue to show up for The Crossing in spite of the brutal conditions. YHC still had the rucks in the truck from Ruckhenge, so they were put to good use. With WEAG Wed PM activites starting back up in late August we’ll get our numbers up again soon.   • It Was Hella Hot

    4 men gathered at WEAG for the latest round of The Crossing. In YHC’s estimation, this is now F3 RVA’s hottest AO……But the PAX were ready to roll nonetheless. Here is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure:

    Mosey to the front of the church and circle up for Warm Up:

    Final Thoughts: Alexa told me it was 100 degrees when I left my house. Upon arrival, we got some cloud cover and checked in at 95 to start the workout. Ab exercises on the asphalt appeared to be around 200 degrees. Great job by the PAX pushing through! Birdman has begun contemplating a VQ that consists of track style interval training – may have to schedule a vacation for that one. Shout out to Woodsman who has been posting regularly all over the place – well done, sir. Trying to figure out how to get on House Party’s team if we do a tug of war on July 4th.

  • I’m no Meatball

    Seven sweat-loving studs showed up to celebrate Meatball’s 1 year F3-versary, but the poor man being waylaid in a board meeting asked YHC to take the reins. Scorching and 90, we decided a little Ultimate Frisbee in the shade sounded good. So the PAX made a warmerama circuit around the AO grounds and played 35 minutes of 3v4 on a small field with lots of TD’s and a few newbies learning the game very quickly. Meatball joined us for COT and led us out in prayer, with a special word for Slider heading to Florida. Meatball will get on the Q sheet again soon for a celebratory Q. Yours AYE! ~DTH

    • Step to the end of the area for No Cheat Lunges to the other end (both knees hit ground like wrestling practice step-throughs, or more static version like hydraulic lunges)

    COP #2:

    • Mosey across the lot to the shipping container for No Cheat Squats IC – these are done in people’s chair, keep back pressed on wall, sliding down wall to touch calves then back up

    COP #3:

    • Mosey around the back of church to another grassy area for No Cheat Merkins IC
    • Get in low plank for review of the Mission, Credo, and Core Principles, and also some merkins thrown in for a couple PAX forgetting the nickname of the man to their left

    COP #4:

    • Mosey a little further and stop for No Cheat LBC’s IC – keep legs bent at 90 degrees and hands reach to touch heels pulling back almost entirely off the ground 

    COP #5:

    • Mosey around to a grassy strip on the South side and complete x5 sets of x20 Flutters, all 2-ct, alternating hands-under low flutters, and hallelujah hands high flutters

    • Mosey to the covered awning for x100 high-quality Monkey Humpers OYO

    NMS:  Great group of brothers for another tour-de-crossing, and this one intentionally without any fore-planning except to avoid any routines, get a hella reps, and optimize best form possible.  The idea of best form led to coming up with some novel no-cheat options – enjoyed by all, I’m sure.     7 strong men came out to sweat as I dove into my VQ. The day’s sun beating on the asphalt and a quick rain hitting it before the start, setup a great sweatfest to be had.

    COP#2- Indian Run with last man dropping for 5 mtn climbers before sprinting to front. Staying in line, dropped into bear crawl with last man doing 5 burpees

    COP #3- 4 corners, 25 reps each corner. Squats, LBC, SSH, plank jacks.

  • Four Horsemen of the Ball Sweat Apocalypse

    A small but determined group of 4 took on the latest edition of The Crossing. With a 6pm start and fresh blacktop – this is quickly becoming F3 RVA’s hottest AO. The following is brief summary for your viewing pleasure

    Mosey lap around the parking lot, mixing in some side shuffles, bernie sanders, high knees, butt kicks.

    Circle up for Warm up: Side Straddle Hops, Ukranian Soldiers, Apple Bottom Poppers, Mummy Kicks, Gorilla Humpers, Flutter Kicks, Whatever those situps from Grow Ruck are called.

    Exercise One: Tunnel of Love – Line up in plank position forming a tunnel like structure, man in back does 40 Mountain Climbers, then bear crawls through the tunnel to the front. Repeat until we made our way up the hill.

    Exercise Two: Partner Exercises
    Partner Leg Tosses – 2 sets up 20
    Dying Boxing Cockroaches – 2 sets of 15
    Hand Release BooYah Merkins – 10
    BooYah Burpees – 5

    Mosey to the backside of the upper parking lot for Man Harmers:
    10 count Side Straddle Hops – Forward Straddle Hop across the parking lot – 20 count SSH’s – repeat pattern up to 70

    Back to the grass hill for Exercise 4: Dora with 50 HR Merkins, 100 Jump Squats, 200 Flutter Kicks.
