  • Just a Taste of Twin Team

A fabulous five of mixed nano-region reps converged at Twin Team for a very rusty Q . After spending a chunk of the quarantine in the Carolinas, it was a privilege to get back to the swing of things in RVA. YHC arrived at BWS at 5:10 wired for today’s beat down. Once the PAX assembled at 5:30, it was time for take off.

Numberama, Namerama, YHC took us out

T-claps to the reminder that YHC has A few Qs this week (and thanks to GP for handling Monday) . YHC has sure been thrown off the last few weeks after being away. Prayers for DTH and his family as well as those named and unnamed this morning. We all have battles in various forms these last few months. We ask that the Good Lord continue to bless these men, their families and help us lean into the understanding.

Show yourself what you can do today.

Stay safe and see y’all tomorrow at Dog Pile.

  • 75th anniversary of V-E Day

5 faithful came out to perfect spring weather for a beatdown. The Q asked if anyone knew what day it was in history, no PAX answered so we got after it:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Russian Soldiers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, 5 burpees.

Head to endline of field: run width of field, 5 burpees, run back, 5 burpees. Repeato x3, running total 35 burpees. Head down to stadium entrance, 5 more burpees.

Unveiling of DonkeyHumpers: 15 Donkey Kicks & 10 Pickle Pounders. 3 rounds. 5 more burpees. 15 more high & slow donkey kicks. 5 more burpees. Up to BWES field, 10 more burpees.

Over to playground: 3 sets of 8 pullups. 5 burpees. Alternate Bear crawl & lunge across field. back across side lunge & bear crawl. 5 more burpees.

Over to bus loop of BWES for Dora 123: 100 merkins, 200 jump squats, 300 LBCs. Mosey back to flag for 1 min of mary and 5 last burpees giving us 75 total. YHC took us out.

NMS: What better way to remember V-E day than 75 burpees during the beatdown. We had 3 PAX at 5:29 but then Mr Holland and PeeDee arrive to give us a solid 5 pax.

Starting off with runs & 30 burpees after the COP got the juices flowing. Doozy and Probation made it look easy. The PAX can thank Doublemint for the DonkeyHumpers, although after his suggestion on slack chose the fartstack this morning.

Probation shared with YHC his absence in the gloom was from his visiting a monastery recently. Apparently PeeDee’s super power is bear crawl – he was almost done with the whole field before we could switch to lunges.

YHC has been taking advantage of the stay-at-home time to watch documentaries with the 2.0s. After finishing a 10 hour series on WWII it is always inspiring what our grandparents went through and good lesson for us today on what courage looks like. And for anyone looking for a Q idea (boberry) V-J day is not too far off.

  • Last Call Party of 2

2 what has become regulars came out for a Twin Team showdown. YHC had a plan to take Snuff to the name sake this morning because he has never been there. Unfortunately Snuff fart sacked or went with a different AO so at 5:30 Last Call and YHC headed out and away from Twin Team.

COP: under cover in front of ES

DQ’s, Helicopters, Cherry Pickers, Inverted Scorpion Kicks and Scorpion Kicks

Mosey to JRHS Front under cover

Modified triple check more of a double check

Balls to the wall, run front circle X3

Mosey to the side under cover

Bear crawl the length of the overhang stop at each post for 2 count Mountain Climbers, on the way back Crab Walk and Sugar Sticks at each post.

Mosey to the Swamp under cover gates are locked so stay in front

Elevens, Squats and Ball Dippers, run to the first light in the middle of the parking lot

Mosey to the ES playground reminded that if it where not for the virus today would be a Murph day if Honeymoon took the Q

Elevens with Pull-ups and Squat Jumps

    Mosey back to the flag

Numbers / Names YHC took us out

NMS: As we were in our COT YHC talked about not having gone to Twin Team because Snuff was not present then Last Call reveals that he unknowingly has never been to Twin Team either. Through some discussion Last Call was under the impression that we called it Twin Team because of the ant hill between the ES and HS. No, No, No my friend we will show you Twin Team in all its glory.

NOTE TO SELF: As you have been told by yourself so many times never change your plan – morning of!!!!!! Name it and Claim it Baby.

  • Psych

Three PAX joined up to embrace a Friday morning workout at Twin Team. Here’s how it went:

One mile mosey around high school across Robious and up the path to the turnaround below Twin Team. COP – Don Q, SSH, squats, merkins, LBCs, flutters.

Mosey back to elementary school, locate hill (thanks Doozy), jacobs ladder – bear crawl up hill and burpees up to 6.

Mosey to bus loop – 11s. WWIIs and merkins.

Circle up for ab work – reverse crunches, rosalitas, dolly P, plank dips.

Great job guys, good to get the blood flowing this morning. Title was derived after a plan to run the Jacobs ladder up Twin Team, being YHC’s first Q at Twin Team, but instead departing the area after the COP. Stories were heralded of previous workouts utilizing the hill – suicides and Sisyphuses. Not today men. Appreciate the PAX following YHC around as I familiarized myself with various areas at the school.

Prayers and thoughts to Doozy’s family and MIL.

    Numbers/names YHC took us out

    NMS:

Today starts YHC’s last year in the 40’s, looking from this side at 50 still seems like its a long way off because in my mind I’m not old enough to be pushing 50 but here we are. Thanks to Bullseye for starting the day out with me and playing along with it even though YHC lost count during the man killer burpees around set 7. We did find out that either the Ball & Chain goes faster with fewer people or that YHC might have made the run too short.

  • Q on the sheet

After a couple days of solo posts a crowded parking lot of 4 greeted YHC. With a variety of self-quarantining, social distancing, stay at home orders and general fartsacking, SOJ AOs have been lightly attended recently. Apparently when a couple people saw a Q on the sheet they knew it meant at least on other person would be posting.

A quick greeting and we were off for a mile to start. Big plans to get to the AO early fell flat so the PAX had to tag along.

Square off for some SSH, Russian Soldiers, Shoulder Taps and APDs.

Parking lot beast – jump squats, merkins, monkey humpers, plank jacks, lunges and burpees. Parking lot crawl – bear crawl, increasing merkins at each space up to 6. Light pole 11s – merkins and squats. Close out with some plankarama. Fully Bullseye friendly workout today.

During this time of distancing and isolation keep in touch with your F3 brothers through text, slack or other social media if you can. Tclaps to Doozy and Bullseye for working out solo this week. Maybe we’ll start a text chain to try to make sure no one posts alone.

Good to be back out. Be safe gentlemen and have a great day.

  • It finally happened

Social distancing was all too easy this morning as a PAX of one hit Twin Team. Here’s what went down…

Mosey to the Swamp only to find the Swamp nicely locked up. Parking lot it is.

    COP:

    DQs and Russian Soldiers

    BOMBS:

    Burpees x 30

    Overhead presses x 40

    Merkins x 50

    Big boy sit-ups x 60

    Squats x 70

After each exercise, take a lap around the parking lot.

    Lightpole Mary:

Perform 50 (single count) of an exercise at each lightpole before heading to the next. Exercises included American Hammers (at 5 light poles cause it’s my favorite), Flutter Kicks, Freddie Mercury’s, Rosalitas, Hello Dollys, etc.

Very long mosey to jungle gym.

Pull-ups: Got in a few rotations of pull-ups. Don’t remember how many…but it wasn’t that many.

    Mosey back to the flag.

No numbers, no names, but YHC took himself out.

YHC has heard about solo postings but has never experienced one. This morning, with the New Market crew keeping their distance and what appears to have been a rebuke of social distancing at RAMM, YHC posted for his first solo workout. Not a fan…missed my brothers this morning.

  • Rolling Rocks Up A Hill

Six brave souls tested positive for Sisyphus this morning, after nearly a year of dormancy (March 29, 2019 to be exact). Here’s how it goes:

Mosey to the top of Twin Team, dropping a few flower pots and cones along the way. COP at the summit: SSH, Imperial Walkers, helicopters, DQ, Russian Soldiers.

Sisyphus: PAX runs downhill to each of five markers, performs an exercise, then returns to the summit.
1 – bear crawl back to summit
    2 – 30 derkins
    3 – 30 uphill facing WWIIs
4 – 2-man triple check: one runs up to #3 and back, while the other alternates 5 merkins and 5-count plank
    5 – 15 burpees

After returning to the top following round 5, collect cones & pots, mosey back to Bettie for numbers, names, ‘nouncements.

It was great to be back at my favorite AO. Moving farther north has made it a bit too long a drive on a normal work day, but work days are anything but normal these days, so YHC made the most of it! As always, Sisyphus is a real mental beatdown as well as a physical one. And, having to listen to YHC spout out Greek mythology on the downhill trips.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Mr. Holland is opening a new AO in Glen Allen next week! Come check out The Last Resort this coming Monday morning at Longdale Elementary School. Check out the pre-blast for more info. SYTIG!

    YNWA,
    -Mr. Holland

  • Ready to Run

Five Twin Team regulars joined YHC for a warm, post-rain workout. Here’s what went down.

Mosey to back of Bettie Weaver for COP:

    SSH x 25

    DQ x 12

    Russian Soldiers x 12

    American Hammers x 25

Sugar Sticks (aka Flutter Kicks) x 25

    Mosey to Playground.

    Mini-Murph

    5 rounds of 5 pull-ups, 10 merkins, 15 squats OYO

    Mosey to the swamp

    BLIMPS

15 burpees, 20 lunges (each leg), 25 imperial walkers, 30 merkins, 35 plank jacks, 40 jump squats

After each exercise is performed, run a lap around the track (6 laps total)

    Bearpees

Staying on the track, Bear crawl 4 paces, perform 1 burpee, repeat until reaching the end of bleachers.

Turn around and repeat…this time bear crawl 8 paces and perform 2 burpees.

Time ran out, so audible called.

    Mosey BTTF.

Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayer Requests, YHC took us out.

    NMS:

YHC awoke at 4:40 this morning to the sound of heavy rain. Brain immediately went into Q contingency plan mode. YHC also figured this might be his first solo post. But, by a stroke of Friday the 13th luck, the rain ended by the time YHC left his abode.

Bullseye arrived early this morning and got some extra credit running in and YHC could tell he was ready for more. Although Doozy figured otherwise, there was no trip to Twin Team hill this morning. YHC admits… he had big plans for it. But, the extra darkness after daylight savings time began last weekend and the chance of rain served as a deterrent. Plus, YHC really wanted to get some pull-ups in after making some recent and unfounded grand claims regarding his pull-ups ability. The BLIMPS (with running) and Bearpees are favorites of YHC and the PAX crushed it this morning. YHC had intended to do the Bearpees on the field, but it was extra swampy this morning.

A decent chunk of conversation this morning focused on the current response of the public/schools/etc to the coronavirus. Prayers for anyone affected…as well as for peace and patience as we all deal with some interruptions in our lives.

Prayers also for PeeDee and his family as they deal with the loss of his mother this week.

    Have a great Friday everyone!

  • OG Run and OG Fartsack

9 + Annie dog strong for a original route with some hill work having to run down Twin Team then turn and run back up Twin Team! We thought we would be 10 strong but original fartsacker did the normal!

Beautiful morning as the sunrise is showing it’s face before this weekends time change….
Always enjoy leading a group group of guys!
