  • Great morning for a run

A mix of runners, walkers and ruckers convened for this week’s edition of RAMM. YHC posted the routes the day before but reviewed them once more. Then, off we go.

YHC took us out with a paraphrase from Luke Chapter 6 a former Rector of my church said at the end of each service: Do good to those who hate you, lend expecting nothing in return, for the measure you give is the measure you will receive.

  • Immaculate Trails If You Can Find Them

With never a doubt that the trails would be clean and clear, YHC set off to lead, but was stumped by a fork in the road.  Here’s where the Pax was supposed to go:

    MOLESKIN

As the A-Team captain Hannibal always said, I love it when a plan comes together.  The plan came together for all but those following YHC.  Doh!  We’ll try again in two months.  YHC dares SOJ to send someone other than Doozy to Q next Friday.  Triple dog dare.  Go Commanders!

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • The Bridge Jan 25 – See Fudd
    • Breaking Bread – ongoing
    • Prayers for Fireman Ed beginning treatment
    • Prayers for Gomer’s team heading to Honduras this week

  • Do You Actually Want to Know the Route?

With no hate, seven gloom warriors hit the mean streets to lay down some miles.  Here’s where:

    The Route

    • R on Pump
    • L on Sunrise
    • L on Waterford
    • L on Church
    • R on Pump
    • R on John Rolfe (or take Pump back)
    • L on Glen Eagles
    • L on Old Prescott
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

Not wanting to run out and back on Pump, YHC grabbed the Q and only called the out part.  With Mr. Rogers rudely not inviting anyone to Hawaii and Lulu in the clink, no furry friends accompanied us today.  Route was not a new one, but maybe new to some.  UpChuck has visited Curahee 3 of 4 weeks.  He seems smitten.  Or maybe Dunkin has better coffee, despite the lack of proper app functionality.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • The Bridge Jan 25 – See Fudd
    • Breaking Bread – ongoing
  • Knock Before Entering

Seven men and two canines set out to find one new street in WestHoe.  Results: Negative?

    Here’s where:

    • L on Pump
    • L on Sancrest
    • R on Windingridge to the end
    • Reverso on Windingridge to Hickoryridge
    • Cross Falconbridge onto Cedar Chase
    • L on Buttonwood
    • R on Falconbridge
    • L on Raintree
    • L on Ridgefield
    • L on Pump
    • Finish around Godwin
    • Back to SF

    MOLESKIN

The run started with a discussion of obscure rules in football.  Whitesnickerdoodle is just glad we won.  As we reverso’d on Windingridge we passed the house of one of Mr. Rogers’s stepson’s old girlfriends.  He told a story of an unauthorized closed door and the subsequent walk of shame.  Ask him about it, I’m sure he’s happy to re-tell it.  At coffee, UpChuck namedropped the wrong name, but the moral of the story was the Beatles may not be the Beatles.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • Pigskin raising money for medical mission
    • Lifting up all the PAX and relatives with medical issues
    • Big day at DogPile tomorrow – come to find out
  • They came for the gumbo and only got a bagel

Gumbo, be warned: if you miss another Q, Swirly may actually log in to Slack and make a fuss.

7 gentleman plus 2 geriatric walkers gathered without Gumbo this morning, so YHC grabbed the Q at 0529. Off we went.

COP on the Blacktop. standard fare. Mosey to the tree line.

Chutes and Ladders: Run 2 trees, Bernie back 1, drop and do 5 reps of the called excercise. Round 1: Squats, Round 2: Merkins, Round 3: LBCs. Mosey to corner of school.

Triple Check: P1: Wall sit, P2: dips, P3: run to pull up bar, 5 pull ups, run back. Mosey to Tennis courts.

Dora: 100 Merkins, 200 2x American Hammers, audible called, mosey back to the flag.

COP: end with 50 IC Pickle pounders.

SMS: Welcome Mountain Man from Columbus, Ohio! Lots of debate about the proper way to conduct chutes and ladders. Lots of moaning and groaning during the Pickle Pounders. Great group, great way to start the day! SYITG

  • 4 Corners on Repeat

Four regulars showed up for this week’s edition of Hoedown. No one had signed up for the queue but someone had put down “hawt potato” which the PAX seemed to think meant Handshake would be joining. At 0530 with no sign of Handshake, the PAX set off for what would be a hot potato.

We moseyed to the Third Church parking lot across from the school where 1-800 lead warm up that included SSHs, DQs, Dead Man Hang, Arm Circles, Merkins, LBCs.

We then moseyed behind the church over to the lot between the church and office buildings. 1-800 called a Four Corners: 10 jump squats, 20 carolina dry docks, 30 monkey humpers, 40 2-count american hammers. Oyster then called a reverso.

EF Hutton took the queue and we moseyed back to the school and around the back to the upper field. We had a quick interlude of three rounds of a PAX member doing pulling ups while the rest held plank. Being popular today and the PAX wanting to keep together, another Four Corners. 10 HR Merkins, 20 Imperial Squats, 30 WWIIs, 40 SSHs. Then, reverso, but freddie mercuries instead of WWIIs.

Marv took over and led us down to the black top for another Four Corners. 5 burpees, 20 LBCs, 30 APBs, 40 SSHs. Reverso, but bear crawl the shorts, swap LBCs for American Hammers and APBs for Hello Dollies..

Mosey down the drop off circle with a stop for 10 jerkins. 20 donkey kicks on the wall, then back up for 10 more jerkins and return for a final 20 donkey kicks.

Mosey back to the flag for a quick round of mary.

    Marv took us out.

  • Papa Caliente y Viento Frio

Five hombres guapos found their way to Mary for a hot potato Q. The slightly higher temp was counteracted by a very cold and strong wind, making this potato slightly less warm. All 5 of us managed to hold the potato, even for a couple of minutes. Here’s what happened:

Bodos: COP on the black top, then 7 of diamonds: 7 rounds of 4 corner excercises in increments of 7. Rounds were: 7 jump squats / 14 merkins / 21 LBCs / 28 Squats / 21 Carolina dry docks / 14 2x flutter kicks / 7 Burpees. Potato passed to Swirly

Swirly: 20 Dips, Sprint, 20 Incline Merkins, Sprint, 3 rounds of 5 Pull ups. Pass to Oyster

Oyster: Bear crawl back and forth a few times. Broad jump burpees, other stuff I can’t remember

Vandalay: Back to the chin up bar. 3 rounds of 5 pull ups + 3 rounds of 5 dips.

    Senor Frog: COP – merkins

    Namerama, YHC took us out.

NMS: Vandalay shared about an FNG who reported that he wouldn’t come back to F3 because the Pax he was with were cheating on their form and not performing full proper squats. This made Swirly very upset and we had to console him and promise him we would never let this happen again. Our form was excellent this morning.

    SYITG.

  • Bro-Code Black Friday

On this nice and chilly post Thanksgiving day 4 regulars + Wally assembled at Godwin High School for another Bro-Code run. We opted for the typical bro-code route:

Right on Pump up to Church Rd. – back to last
Left on Church up to Copperas Ln. – back to last
Left on Ridgefield Pkwy. up to intersection with John Rolfe Pkwy. – back to last
Continue on Ridgefield to Glen Eagles Dr. – back to last
Right on Glen Eagles, left on Old Prescott Rd. and all the way back to Godwin.

Numbers, Names and Mr. Rogers took us out.
Great run, great company and 2nd F after at Dunkin’s.
