Take (Up To) Five Fingers…Mind Swirly’s Hole

A luck 13 showed for a favorite route of YHC’s…taking (up to) 5 stretches through the neighborhood (Iris, Tapoan, Ridgeway, Tawano, Old Mill).  Each stretch offering ample elevation toward its peak at Three Chopt.

NMS:  In preparation for the BRR, YHC wanted to re-visit his preferred hill workout around the UR campus.  Great work by everyone today….hills in this kind of heat is no joke.  Apologies for my poor instructions (per usual).

Announcements:

  • TYA Classic Ultra (Oct 20) and HoneyDo 6 Pack (Oct 20)
  • Last day to start the Summer Tour (Hah!)

Strong work today fellas. Way to push through those hills (i.e. hill repeats that were not really repeats).

Nice route today. All hills and no downhills. How did you manage that? Even the warm up lap was uphill.

Glad to see no one fell victim to Swirly’s hole. Someone must have filled it in, as it no longer appears to be a hazard on the route though Iris offers a couple of new ones.

I can’t think of a better group to run uphill in the August heat and humidity with then you knuckleheads. TYA was on a mission today. Total beast mode!

Had to put it in low gear for those hills this morning. Between this route and roller coaster the BRR crew will be ready with ease.

This was my first time running RBIs route. Cannot believe how many hilly roads lead up to Three Chop. I feel like UR was built at the bottom of a canyon. And Three Chop is the rim.
