After some warmups, we moseyed to the Pemberton Elementary bus loop and did a round of exercises in dedication to Handshake’s M’s cousin’s child Charlotte who passed last weekend at 11 years old.
We spelled her name with exercises and then did a lap after each letter. We did some in cadence and some OYO. Exercises (with help from the Pax) were Crab cakes, HRM, American hammers, Reverse crunches, LBCs, Overhead claps, Three level merkins (pause at 3 levels on the way down), Tricep dips, & Elbow plank for 30 seconds.
We then went down the hill between schools and did some up and downs with 1 burpee at the top, then one at the top and bottom, and then two and the top and bottom of the hill. We finished with an up and down and then finding a pole and doing 20 pole smokers at the bottom. After a vote against letting Pigskin lead us in balls to the wall, we moseyed to the tables for a round of step-ups and Pigskin lead Bulgarians.
We then went back to the flag for some Mary. Almost 2 miles total today.
We ended with prayers for Charlotte and the family. Handshake had shared a FB post which demonstrated how much the family leaned into Christ during this challenging time. I would hope to do the same but not sure I could. It is inspiring to see them do this.
Thanks for letting me lead.
