After cool dry mornings a week ago, the funk was back and funky as ever.  Like running through a greenhouse.  As such, stages of dress varied.  Glad the PAX is comfortable with that, just don’t expect YHC to finish with a BOM.  Great to have Shake’s FNG join us this morning.  Originally hailing from Switzerland, Swiss Miss and Toblerone were thrown out as potential names, but the PAX and YHC settled on Neutral.  Hoping Neutral had a positive experience and returns soon.

There’s nothing like some old timers hitting the sandlot and re-living their glory days.  Unless of course they never had glory days.  Either way plenty was had this day.  By YHC’s count 15 balls cleared the fence.  UpChuck blasted one the farthest while Roger Roger brought home the trophy with 3 bombs.  More than half the PAX left the yard and YHC walked off with one over the scoreboard.  Welcome friendly new guy TI (Texas Instruments – birth name Cheng).  Special thanks to the guys of Heartbreak Ridge for letting YHC take the Q and do something dumb.  Next year Team Derby West End vs. SOJ. Apologies for not enough Burpees, the PAX was simply too good.

At 0524 the numbers were strong as the PAX eagerly awaited what YHC had in store.  By 0530 seventeen in all were ready to do the thang.  Lots of mumblechatter around Hitch’s Saturday night Karaoke Q.  Sounds like a heck of a time.  YHC isn’t much of a singer, but with the right amount of lubrication could maybe belt out some Sweet Child O Mine, Blaze of Glory, or perhaps Regulate by Warren G.  YHC expects only Bone Thugs, Corned Beef, and maybe Wilson share his taste in music.  Comment with your go-to song.  Just curious.  Make it a great one.

With Gumbo’s blessing the Home Run Derby goes on. This year with a little West End twist. We’ll meet 0530, Tuesday July 27th at Tuckahoe Little League. Park in the lot in front of Rico’s Mexican Grill at the corner of Ridgefield and John Rolfe. Workout will be simple, slow-pitch softball style, hit a homer and pass out punishment, hit anything else the entire PAX is punished. Burpees are the standard punishment. This workout will replace Heartbreak Ridge for the week. Do not go to Quioccasin Middle. Hope to see you there. Bring your gloves, hats and big league chew and be a kid again.

Several PAX from Hoedown were tortured with extreme 11s on Lindsay Ct yesterday, YHC included.  Splinter was 1 shy of completion, so YHC figured he should return.  Plus it sucks in a way only F3 men can appreciate.  Marv’s weather app promises cooler less humid mornings this week, but today was not that.  It was hot and extremely moist.  Saab bucked the route, presumably in search of dryer air.  At the risk of starting a mutiny, F3RVA’s resident Sensei has suggested that the PAX meet at the parking lot on the corner of UR Dr and Richmond Way to avoid speeding golf carts, trash trucks, buses, and Swan Goose sh*t.  Some say that’s Blasphemy.  Next week will decide it.

The PAX was eager to launch at 530, however 6 weeks of rest has made YHC a rusty Q.  After a quick apology and disclaimer, the PAX was off and running at 537.
