West End Home Run Derby
With Gumbo’s blessing the Home Run Derby goes on. This year with a little West End twist. We’ll meet 0530, Tuesday July 27th at Tuckahoe Little League. Park in the lot in front of Rico’s Mexican Grill at the corner of Ridgefield and John Rolfe. Workout will be simple, slow-pitch softball style, hit a homer and pass out punishment, hit anything else the entire PAX is punished. Burpees are the standard punishment. This workout will replace Heartbreak Ridge for the week. Do not go to Quioccasin Middle. Hope to see you there. Bring your gloves, hats and big league chew and be a kid again.

Apologies to Saab as YHC not only stole the Q, but also stole his route. All due respect. In a hurry to put the directions out and get moving YHC left out the loop around the lake and possibly the left on Westham to Lakewood for the 4s. Will make it up next time.

Several PAX from Hoedown were tortured with extreme 11s on Lindsay Ct yesterday, YHC included. Splinter was 1 shy of completion, so YHC figured he should return. Plus it sucks in a way only F3 men can appreciate. Marv’s weather app promises cooler less humid mornings this week, but today was not that. It was hot and extremely moist. Saab bucked the route, presumably in search of dryer air. At the risk of starting a mutiny, F3RVA’s resident Sensei has suggested that the PAX meet at the parking lot on the corner of UR Dr and Richmond Way to avoid speeding golf carts, trash trucks, buses, and Swan Goose sh*t. Some say that’s Blasphemy. Next week will decide it.

They Don’t Make These Biscuits In Denver
Three arrived at the prescribed time, one was a minute behind, then another joined for the return route. None of the usual suspects today. Good to have new faces. Biscuits were enjoyed by all, including our visitor from Colorado. Welcome back. ET’s 2nd F never disappoints.

Rusty Q
The PAX was eager to launch at 530, however 6 weeks of rest has made YHC a rusty Q. After a quick apology and disclaimer, the PAX was off and running at 537.

First time Qing Breaking Bread and first time Qing period in a while, but it felt great to get back on that saddle and most importantly to help people who truly need it. Due to protocols, YHC couldn’t stay for the 2nd F, nevertheless it remains a remarkable experience. YHC had a hell of a time planting the flag though, glad that jackhammer was in the trunk.

MOLESKIN
No shortage of hills and no shortage of pollen in the air to chew on, but the temp was perfect for a run. Half the 5s chose to run the loop in reverse and missed the pleasure of Summit, but the others made up for it. Great to see huge numbers out at SpiderRun. Not sure what the other groups mumblechattered about, but YHC’s group discussed the dynamics of youth sports, notably “elite elite” travel soccer and baseball, and their impact on high school sports. Bootleg subscribes to the adage “Suns Out, Guns Out” and nips too.

Garbage Plate was eager to get a jump on next week’s Q so YHC happily shared this week’s. Apart from the initial confusion, the teamwork and passing of the Q was seamless. Great to meet Crash Test Dummy for the first time and welcome to Bodos’s FNG now known as Ticket to Ride. TTR didn’t seem to struggle at all, hopefully he comes back really soon and we can change that. YHC plants his flag now and vows to defeat all who seek to take the Q at SpiderRun tomorrow.

Hi Lucy!
Sometimes it’s sunny and 70 and other times it’s sunny and 70. Taking advantage, 2 hit the hills of Tuckahoe for a 4 plus mile jaunt. Route was Hoedown to Westham to Baldwin, across Patterson, circle the neighborhood, back across Patterson, onto Woodberry, then Horsepen, left on Hampshire/Wheeler/Bandy, through the woods onto College, right on University, return to Hoedown via Westham. Along the way M and 2.0 Bacon Bits were charmed by UpChuck not once, but twice. Discussion topics varied, landing on ACC sports at the very end. A topic on which YHC can actually keep pace with UpChuck.

Perfect conditions for an evening beatdown. YHC loves sports and April has some great ones going on between the NCAA Championship, the Masters, MLB Opening Day, and the NFL Draft. Throw in the end of NHL season and what else could you need? Thanks to the guys for playing along with something just a little different. And thanks to Baylor for putting a few bucks in YHC’s pocket.
