    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

Apologies to all for YHC’s failure to anticipate Fraternity Row being impassable.  Rumor has it, all but Saabski took the alternate route around.  YHC is grateful no one was injured.  The 6s were supposed to be about a tenth short on the original route. At least they finished in full, so there’s that.  No shortage of big hills and Westham is a long grind, but this twisted group seems to enjoy that sort of thing.  Good to see Marv again and Flatline don’t be a stranger either.

    MOLESKIN

YHC arrived to a quiet dark parking lot.  Usually UpChuck is soon to follow, but he’s off on assignment.  At 5:20 PAX started to arrive with Handshake finally coming in hot as the PAX launched.  Minimal mumblechatter throughout the day, but a number of trumpets were sounding.  There’s no shortage of SUVs in the Tuckahoe region, and apparently no shortage of trees down.  Happy Birthday to Faceplant.  Hope it’s a good one.  Solid work gents.

YHC received a text first thing this morning asking if the PAX should have lights.  UpChuck was very eager to show off his new headlamp.  Rumor has it a friend from Harvard business school created the world’s first headlamp specifically contoured for the heads of bald men.  It also doubles as a lighthouse beacon.  As the PAX at FW continues to grow, a new supply of blocks is needed.  Donations can be left at the northeast corner of First Watch headquarters.  Closest thing to OSOTW goes to UpChuck’s former coworker who has a tramp stamp in honor of her father.  As if that story was not entertaining enough, Bodos off-roading over the curb on his way out solidified First Watch as the most fun you can have at 0500.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

Prayers for UpChuck’s Mother and MIL

    Prayers for Bodos’ car

    Happy Birthday to Wilson.  Respect!

  • Proper BC

Five disobeyed mother nature to put in some cold miles before and after the main event. Proper route of ET’s to Dogpile via Robinson then straight shot back was the prescription of the day. Wisdom prevailed as runners plus moseyed via car to Libbie Market for a proper hot breakfast. Place seems like something of a mini Woke-Mart, but breakfast is hot and ready and available at the earliest hour with inside seating as well. Not too shabby.

  • Right on Rock Creek?

Thirteen out, thirteen back. Here’s where they went:

    All

A few pleasant snowflakes met the PAX instead of the downpour predicted.  Where’s Marv when you need a weather forecast?  Right on Rock Creek caught the PAX off guard, didn’t realize that was new.  Plenty of opportunities to wave at fellow PAX and give an “atta boy” today.  Apologies to the 6s for being a hair short.  Will throw in something extra next time.  Gomer explained to some of the 5s that infantrymen are not the knuckle draggers many assume them to be and that his intelligence earned him the right to play with explosives.  Fascinating.

During the long mosey down to the end of Culpepper Handshake questioned if this was Spider Run or First Watch.  YHC had planned some extra running today to match whatever Handshake had planned for the gang at WTF.  Apparently, that was zero since he showed up at First Watch.  Shoutout to Bacon Bits on his progress, keep it up Bro.

A hot potato was the soup du jour.  Bodos’ soup was cold and sent back, then returned piping hot.  The PAX took extra precaution in staying the prescribed 6+ feet apart today.  Handshake encouraged such with remnants of lasagna and bourbon.  Bodos wielded pinecones against any encroachers.  UpChuck told a joke about f*ckin broccoli.  Ask him to repeat it to you sometime.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    Stay safe out there

  • The Green Pill

Call it lazy, call it last-minute, call it chance, call it what you want, but you won’t call it easy.  Kubota even offered to get Covid again to avoid in the future.  Congrats to Bodos for completing all 10 rounds, and starting to reverso.  Handshake finished all 10, while UpChuck and YHC fell a lap short.  While plied to overshare, Bodos kept it classy, but one does question the emphasis on the word Woman.  Happy New Year.

No telling what was discussed on the 4s and 6s routes, but the 5s focused on NCAA football and basketball at Tennessee, Virginia Tech, VCU, Bluefield College, Duke, Army, and UR.  Swirly has been breaking down film of all of the above.  When prompted for input on Yahoo hoops Bodos shamefully admitted he knows only that there is a team and that that jazz singer Tony Bennett is their coach.  Swirly assigned Bodos a homework assignment.  Presentation and diorama are due next Tuesday.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

Prayer requests for TYA’s niece hospitalized, the family of the 43 year-old whose funeral Bodos officiated last week, as well as Fudd’s family having lost his aunt recently all due to Covid.
