  • Go Wahoos and Spiders!

10 PAX decided to stay in town and abandon the fart sack for today’s workout. Was it the best workout ever? No. Was it decent? Probably.

COP: DQs, DMH, helicopters, merkins, MCs, Freddies, LBCs.

Mosey to curbs next to main field. Curb crawl to 5 with 2 plank jacks for every merkin. OK. You made it to 5 back down to 1 then.

Mosey to bus loop and do the old Fireman Ed rain special (when it used to rain every time I q’d at Gridiron. Pacer would run the bus loop. Others did HRMs, diamond merkins, wide grip merkins, jump squats, sumo squats, normal squats, WWIIs, Irish hammers and another ab exercise. mosey to basketball court.

Four corners with 10 burpees lunge then do 20 WW1s, lunge and do 30 2 count mountain climbers lunge and then 40 SSHs. Mosey to track (which was kinda far).

1/4 lap around track 5 burpees, 1/4 lap 5 burpees so when the lap is complete you will have completed 20 burpees. Mosey to pavilion.

Elevens with derkins and 2 count step ups. Mosey to home base. Wall sit for a minute, American hammers, APDs (this is when a bunch of folks showed up for pickle ball). I did not look to see their reactions. Closed with stretching.

Prayers for Speakeasy, Fudd’s sister Mary, Wojo’s mom and Gypsy’s recovery.

Go UVA (now I am a fan since my daughter goes there) and Spiders (vs. mightly Bucknell).

    Thanks for letting me lead.

  • Is it bad to work out in front of female high schoolers?

15 PAX showed up. Actually 13 showed up on time and I, the Q and Seymore showed up a little late. It isn’t every day that they block traffic on Patterson for 8 minutes to work on traffic lights.

I decided to embark on a walking kettlebell workout and the workout did generate ~3,500 steps. Not WTH caliber but not bad for an aging crew (for the most part).

COP: SSHs per attila, DQs, helicopters. merkins, plank jacks, Freddies. Mosey with rifle carry to side road away from the bus loop. Do some halos when further moseying. Stop to do 10 lawmower pulls and overheads. Then 15 of each. Then 20 of each.

Mosey with halos to the other direction. Then stop and work on abs. 10 sit and press and coupon flutters each. Then 15. Then 20. See a pattern here. Then check on the lady whose car is parked nearby; she is waiting for a battery jump. Mosey by lunging and then moseying further to the Godwin football stadium.

This is where it got interesting. I did not think that a high school girls would be having practice and entering the stadium. So in the effort of spreading awkwardness, I had sets of squats and swings, 10 , 15 and 20 being done next to the entrance. I am sure they thought it was great and not creepy. Thankfully we left before the police were called.

Moseyed back with rifle carries and around the worlds to the grassy area. Did bear crawl and lunge without the weight. White Deer was fast but hurt himself. Hope you are OK WD. Moseyed back to base. Finished with American hammers, heels to heaven and stretching.

Prayers for Handshake’s family, Fudd’s sister Mary, those who are helping kids move and Wojo’s mom. If you are interested in the Lake Anna workout this Saturday, let Tater or Byproduct know ASAP!!! Thanks for letting me lead and sorry I was a little late.

  • Triple Triple Check

On a humid but not hurrendous Saturday morning, we (13 PAX) embarked on what turned out to be a series of triple checks with other stuff sprinked in. Also incorporated was one of my favorite past times, disc golf.

COP: Pretty much the same sh$t. DQs, helicopters, invisible jump rope, HRMs, plank jacks, freddies. Mosey to other football field.

Cumulative exercises with 10 HRMs, 20 Irish hammers, 30 2 count Mountain climbers, 40 jump squats and 50 LBCs. The Irish hammers were the hardest portion. Now to the Triple checks.

Triple Check 1: Pole smokers, wide grip merkins and throw disc to basket near cricket players. Mr. Rogers played from the senior tees (running up 15 yards before throwing).

Triple Check 2: Flutter kicks, diamond merkins and throw to the other basket. Mr. Rogers then played from the ladies tees (20 yards pre throw). Mosey to front of school.

Triple check 3: Dips, wall sits and run around the school loop.

Mosey to home base and finish with American hammers and stretching.

Finished with prayer for travelers including Pigskin, ones with health issues in their families (Wojo, Handshake and Fudd) and for us to be good Christians. Lunch on Tuesday at Capital Ale (rumor is that Attila is paying). Welcome Spinner from Dallas. I was supposed to help him find the Starbucks and I hope he did not end up at a different Starbucks. Also, Spinner send me the group picture and I can post it. Welcome Cobbler! He likes to work with leather which created multiple names that were funny but not kid friendly.

    Thanks for letting me lead.

  • Circus post Offshore/Joey Era

With a drop of 30 PAX last week to 13 this week, Offshore and Joey Chestnut are already missed. However, what we lacked in relative numbers were made up by a host of mumble chatter especially during COP. Much of it was focused on the Howard Johnson blue colored shorts worn by Handshake.

COP: DQs, Jazzercise, helicopters, HRMs, MCs, Irish hammers, LBCs. Mosey to benches in middle of bus loop.

E1: Elevens with shoulder presses while on knees (idea came from a convo. with Whitesnake) and then 2 count step ups. The being on knees on drought dried ground was not a favorite for the knees. But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? Mosey to courtyard area.

Triple check with run to end of bus loop, curls while on knees (the on knees part was modified by most) and bench presses. Mosey to curb.

Around the loop with rifle carries, high pulls, lunges and triceps.

Modified lindseys with swings and lawnmower pulls.

Finished with ab exercises and some stretching. Let the sweat pour!!

Twin Team is tomorrow’s location for the Summer tour. See Slack for details. Mr. Roger’s M is looking for 2.0 help for the summer. Reach out to him if interested. Join the summer tour so you can meet new people, see different AOs and get mileage on your vehicle. Convergence is at Gridiron this Saturday at 7. If you want to bring something for breakfast let Pinto know. Prayers for Handshake’s cousin Charlotte and Fudd’s sister Mary and their families. Stay safe and cool for America’s 250th birthday!

  • No Soccer Arms

While we heard there is a lot of hype for the World Cup (and deservedly so), some of us (14) decided instead to go top heavy and focus on the triceps, shoulders, back and biceps. That way we can justify our macho tank tops for the neighborhood pool.

COP: DQs, helicopters, cherry pickers, merkins, MCs and arm circles.

Modified dora: Partner 1 runs or jogs to the end of the bus loop and back. For Bogey this means “run!”. Partner 2 handles part of 75 triceps, 100 bench presses and 125 curls.

Lindsey Plus: Both exercises equal 50 between one count lawnmowers and one side of a halo. 40/10, 30/20, down to 10/40. 40 halos really su$k. Mosey to Pump Road side.

Elevens with sit and press, lunge (the one leg workout) and 2 count flutters. Mosey to bus loop do 3 sets of 15 Overhead (tricep pulldowns is what I call them). Mosey to home base.

Lil’ bit of Dead man hang. Counterama to 14.

Prayers for Charlotte, Mary, their families and those going through a tough time, physically or mentally. Second Tuesday lunch is at Tazikis in Innsbrook on Tuesday June 9 at noon. Enjoy the weather before the heat comes in and makes me want to be in Maine.

Thanks for letting me lead. Great job on coffeeteria as always!

  • Monkey humpers near the Yard Sale

16 Pax regulars including a spirited young new regular went to Short Pump to workout and clean litter from last night’s workouts.

COP: DQs, jazzercise, merkins, arm circles, cherry pickers, freddies. Mosey to football field.

Cumulative go ten yards, do 10 of an exercise. Then 10 and 20 yards 20 exercises, 10, 20 and 30, 10, 20 30 and 40 and lastly 10, 20, 30,40 and 50. Exercises were merkins, WWIIs, 2 count mountain climbers, jump squats and SSHs.

Mosey to other side and repeato with 10 HRMs (50 total), 20 Irish hammers (80 total), 30 Carolina Dry docks (90 total), 40 squats (80 total) and 50 LBCs (50 total). 80 Irish hammers suc%s pretty bad.

Mosey to field next to yard sale. Dora with 50 burpees, 150 American hammers and 250 monkey humpers. I did not look at the yard sale to see if the patrons were admiring our monkey humper form. I did notice a number of more mature folk; that may be what Pigskin would be doing if he didn’t kick so much a#s. Mosey back to home base.

Triple check with balls to the wall, flutter kicks and a run around most of the parking lot. Finished with DQs, a dancing exercise suggested by Fire Chicken and Dead Man Hang.

Closed in prayer for Charlotte, Mary and those looking for work and/or suffering from the drought. I am told that Upchuck may be looking for a replacement for the Bridge. Coffeeteria was good as always. Thanks for letting me lead!

  • One person really hates burpees

17 studs of Westhoe came to get ready for pool and beach season. Although there were a few regulars missing, a couple newbies and semi-regulars took their spot.

COP: Helicopter, invisible jump rope, DQs (I always do these), HRMs, MCs and Freddies. Mosey to benches.

Elevens with 2 count steps and shoulder presses. It seemed like a lot of freakin step ups (Gypsy was vocal about that; Gypsy is never shy). Mosey to different part of bus loop.

Catch me if you can: Partner 1 carries both KBs around the bus loop. Partner 2 does 3 burpees and then runs to Partner 1 and voila the switch happens. Upchuck however did his best to minimize burpees by running with both KBs (unbelievably faster than he runs without weights). I did not know that Upchuck hated burpees so much.

Catch me if you can 2: Partner 1 curls with one bell, Partner 2 3 burpees and catch up to Partner 1. Mosey to curb in bus loop.

20s with 3 sets each of bench press, coupon flutters and overhead pulls (which I called tricep pulldowns). Run bus loop

20s with 3 sets each of coupon squats, high pulls and calf raises.

Mosey back with rifle carry; numberama. Only announcement is that Upchuck is looking for a replacement for site Q of the Bridge. It does not mean you need to Q it; just need to make sure someone Qs each month and a couple other things. Reach out to Upchuck if you are considering.

    Thanks for letting me lead.

Fireman Ed (Prediction: Jets take Arvell Reese with the second pick in the 2026 NFL draft).

  • 53 with a greeting party of Fire trucks.

On my birthday Q (actually tomorrow is my birthday but close enough) 13 PAX (12 for the workout, one extra for the early morning ruck) came to Short Pump North and ended up with a high dose of cardio. As I arrived there were multiple fire trucks at Short Pump Middle and PAX thought that I had orchestrated there for my birthday. If only I were that cool.

COP: DQs, arm circles, Irish hammers, Freddies, HRMs, MCs, LBCs

Curb crawls: Up to 5 breathe, down to 1, then up to 3 back down to 1. Mosey to small parking lot near fire trucks.

Five corners/Pentagonal shape – Cumulative but not prostitute style. 10 HRMs, 20 WWIIs, 30 2 count Mountain climbers, 40 squats, 53 LBCs. Mosey to field as fire trucks are leaving.

Dora from middle of field. One runs around the goal post, Other partakes in 53 burpees, 153 2 count American hammers, then 253 SSHs. This is where the cardio got real my friends. Mosey slowly to playground with the cushy surface.

25 PLTs then 28 more PLTs. The math equals….

Triple check with derkins, flutter kicks and run to the bathroom and back. Despite our average age, no one needed to go to the bathroom. Finished with stretching.

Announcements: Please consider taking the Bridge site Q from Upchuck. Prayers for Handshake’s niece, Fudd’s sister, Wojo’s mother, Roger Roger’s father n law and Prophet’s (sp?)friend.

Thanks for letting me lead. Enjoy your weekend.

  • With all the shizzle going on the world, at least we have F3.

21 dudes met at the Circus in search of fellowship, a KB beatdown and probably coffee. The number 21 brought back an old memory of an internship interview on my 21st birthday after a night of celebrating the big birthday. Let’s just say I did not get that job.

COP: The usual – DQs, helicopters, HRMs, FMs and plank jacks (somewhat usual). Mosey to back of school.

Call out a type of carry. Once done do two sets of 20 of an exercise.

    Rifle carry – swings

    Rifle carry – lawnmower pulls

Triceps while moseying – sit and press

Around the world – no exercise this time

4 corners – 10 burpees, 20 Irish hammers (I am starting to like those), 30 2 count mountain climbers, 40 coupon squats.

Mosey to Pump Road side of school. Halos one way then halos the other way. 2 sets of 20 calf raises. Around the world; mosey to bus loop.

Death crawls – 2 sets tricep pull downs.

Lunges back to base or at least close to base.

Finished with a couple of ab exercises and stretching.

Upchuck needs a replacement for Bridge site Q. Prayers for Handshake’s niece Charlotte and Fudd’s sister Mary. Come out for my birthday Q Saturday at Gridiron if you like. Geno Smith is back with the Jets because he was great the first time he played for them. Thanks for letting me lead!

  • Lenten Themed Beatdown

18 PAX came in for a warm slightly wet weather beatdown. Since Lent has 40 days I attempted to make 40 applicable to each exercise. The workout started (with Fudd only being one minute late and me butchering part of the COP trying to make fun of Fudd – sorry Fudd. My daughter used to tell me I am funny once a month – she may actually be accurate.) Anyway, the workout went as follows:

COP: SOS – DQs, helicopters, merkins, MCs, arm circles and Freddies. Mosey to bus loop.

Cumulative exercises: 5 burpees, 10 sit and press, 20 squats, 30 curls and 40 bench presses.

4 corners cumulative(My tendency is to come up with unique corners that end up not being corners. I guess we did three corners with a repeat of one corner). 10 tricep pull downs, 20 high pulls, 30 halos (15 each direction – Seymour is a world class haloer) and 40 lawnmower pulls – 20 each arm.

Lindseys: swings and calf raises. I am told ladies like a man with muscular calves. The last set of swings was challenging.

Finished at home base with stretching.

Good to see a couple of not as regulars and have an age range of 9 to 73. Slightly frozen triangle is this Saturday. We think that Bodos is doing his 10 year anniversary Q at Dogpile this Saturday. He may sprinkle some Lenten wisdom. Prayers for Upchuck’s friends, one of whom is not likely making it past this week, Fudd’s sister Mary and Handshake’s niece Charlotte. I was told that I led a very calm beatdown this morning. Big shout out goes to Handshake for escalating the resolution of a burst water pipe issue at my house a couple weeks ago. Great job!

    Thanks for letting me lead!
