  • Snuff Underground: Ghost Flag

3 NOS pirates raided the Alamo and planted the Ghost Flag with 15 SOS.

The music was loud and everyone was on edge. Warmarama with SSHs, DQs, helicopters, imperial squat walkers. A request to turn down the volume so as not to offend the neighbors.

Mosey to the courts for some Cocaine Bear crawls with ascending mirkins. Run it back with lunge walks and ascending squats. YHC didn’t drive to the southern reaches to quietly Q, so we had to take it to the club. Snuff Underground isn’t one venue, it’s a state of mind.

Mosey to the tunnel where the acoustics were good and the sounds of exertion were contained. Cranked it back up with a triple check with WW2s and jump squats.

The beat was pounding for some wall work Pigskin-style: hoedowns, donkey kicks and balls to the wall, 3 rounds with a dirty hookup at the end.

Surround sound for 100 LBCs, flutters, planks and some stretching.

Last triple check with heels to heaven + lunges. Mosey back to the flag for a few burpees.

COT and prayers. That we may all lead by example; in our homes, our families and our communities.

  • All just a happening

17 men for a super special edition of Snuff Underground: Breathwork.

Mosey to circle for a warmarama with some lofi beats.

Mosey to the amphitheater where the music heated up for some box jumps up the steps and mirkins at the bottom. Per usual Snuff Underground rules, the song continued without expectation of ending.

Dora with squats, LBCs and monkey humpers until the song changed again.

Mosey to the underground where we faced heartbreak and devastation: the club is now closed. Fenced in with barbed wire. The reverb will return one day, but not today.

Mosey to the wall for some wall work to the beat: wall sits, donkey kicks and running up and down the hill.

Then, it was time for something different. Sitting all together in the amphitheater, watching the sunrise, for a 15-minute Alan Watts-guided mediation about the happening, about thoughts, and about the breath.

Minds clear, mosey back to the flag for COT.

Thanks for being up for something different.

  • Rise of the Machines

Beckoned by the sounds of Snuff Underground: Machine Forge, eight T-100 model Terminators arrived in the fading gloom. One of a few final fleeting dawns before humanity is eaten by A.I.

Mosey to warmarama. Mosey around to the hill + wall. 11s mirkins run up the hill donkey kicks on the wall and back down.

ICBMs in the air, we stumbled to the glass-strewn fallout shelter. Dry, dark and safe for a Dora. 200 LBCs, 300 squats, 400 monkey humpers. Mostly over the hump, audible to a hand release mirkin rendition singing ‘Let the Bodies Hit the Floor.’ And when I say audible, I mean the volume was LOUD. The walls reverberated with percussive nuclear blasts.

Exiting the shelter it was off to the Arena for the battle against ourselves. A.I. is but a mirror to the grand average of humanity’s messy language and we will not stand it. 11s up the steps, mirkins and V-Ups. Large Language Milquetoast. ChatGPTedious.

A prayer of gratitude: for this fellowship, this fitness and this faith. Carry the fire. SYITG.

  • Graceland

7 men convened for Paul Simon’s 7th studio album. Front to back, a musical masterpiece.

In the early 1980s, Simon’s relationship with his former musical partner Art Garfunkel had deteriorated, his marriage to the actress Carrie Fisher had collapsed, and his previous record, Hearts and Bones (1983), had been a commercial failure.

    And yet….

Mosey around the front of the school, mosey around the road, all the way to the back gate, for some more moseying. Machismo said it was a ‘forgery’ because he came for the electronic beats of Snuff Underground and instead was regaled with South African street music. Moseying continued.

In the amphitheater, 11s up and down the big steps, dips and WW2s. Some interesting talk of angry Ms and the impending robot army. In spite of which, we are still happy. Diamonds on the soles of her shoes.

Moseyed some more around to the wall for the longest set of hoedowns ever done, to the beat.

Moseyed some more up and around and back down again to the base of Mt Chaplain. Some bear crawls up, mirkins, more bear crawls, jump squats. 100 LBCs, 100 mountain climbers, then one last long mosey down to the cul de sac and back up to the flag.

5 of the 7 attendees need to get ready for Ragnar.

    COT.

  • Q4 Results – Snuff Underground

13 ravers mosey to the club and dance to the beat until the break of dawn. ‘Read the book that wrote itself.’

Wararama to ‘The Fall of Babylon’ and ‘Surf Rider.’ Started a musical dora with ‘The Mirror’ and 200 mirkins, 300 squats and 400 LBCs but an audible to the wall for ‘Ritual’ tempo work with wall sits, balls to the wall, and donkey kicks.

To the amphitheater to continue the dora. The song ‘Stress’ only amped things up. Audible again back to the club because the acoustics weren’t as good and the song ‘Angel of Death’ came on. Dora continues to ‘F**kFray.’

Mosey back towards the flag and ‘The Lake’ with a moment on the hill for some Shivassana and a dark reflection on mortality and aging to the sounds of ‘Piel.’ But the sun is on the horizon and every day from now until November there is more light.

Find your ‘Secure Place’ out there in the gloom. COT and prayers.

  • Cold doomscroll

Seven content creators took a freezing journey to the outer recesses of the TikTok algorithm with a music-fueled ban-worthy beatdown:

Started a minute early because who has time to sit around when it is 13 degrees.

Mosey to the back lot, stop and pay the toll with incline mirkins and dips.

33 SSHs, then grab a block and mosey around the lot. Ascending block curls at each parking space, then ascending block squats. Mosey around the lot. Chest presses then WW2s with the block. Mosey around the lot. Bear crawls dragging the block until DK figured out you could just slide with it. Rifle carry the block back to the pile.

Mosey to the field for some triple check action: dips and LBCs.

Mosey back to the basketball courts, pay the toll.

Circle up for the best TikTok dance of all time, Mankillers. Shoutout to the og influencer Last Call who reminded me how to do them.

Some mirkin mary, and ab mary, until we had one song left. Burpees to the end. COT.

Wow it was cold! We definitely kept it moving. 7 people, at that temp? Impressive to see everyone out.

  • Imperium

Holiday gone, time marches slowly on. 5 men, our bodies and our minds locked in a war of attrition with entropy itself. The expectations of a mechanized society, the weaponization of technology. In the gloom, we are winning, but it is trench warfare and we had the soundtrack to prove it.

Mosey to the flagpole for warmarama.

Mosey back and down the hill for some knoll work: 11s with mirkins, bear crawl the knoll, jumpsquats, lunge down.

    100 WW2s.

Mosey to the roundabout for a cinco de checko. Timer runs the loop, flutter kicks, mountain climbers, squats, burpees. Rinse and repeat 5 times.

    COT. Peace.

  • smash the silence with the brick of self-control

9 kind souls and one new playlist gathered around the warm fires of the Forge for an beatdown audible. Tin Man’s 50th VQ will have to take a rain check after too much egg nogg at Rosie’s Christmas Special.

Crank up the volume: Warmarama. Mosey to the amphitheater for a triple check: run the loop, WW2s, squats. Then, 11s with box jumps up the big steps, incline mirkins and dips.

Mosey over for some wall work Pigskin-style: people’s chair, balls to the wall, and donkey kicks, each 3 times.

Mosey to back to the flag for some ab Mary, some mirkin Mary, and some breathing exercises to the sound of violins.

COT. Prayers for those on IR including Tin Man.

Warm welcome to Salt Lick, except, where’s that warm Texas weather we were promised? Look forward to seeing his enthusiasm out there this season. And welcome back Dookie – new Green Day pop-punk playlist coming soon! Great to see you both.

  • Here come the GOATS

Musical Mystery Tour in full effect.

Mosey to the roundabout for some warmarama including SSHs, DQs, helis, imperial walkers, copperhead squats, etc.

Mosey around the bend for some wall work: People’s chair hoedowns, donkey kicks and dirty hookups x3.

To the amphitheater for a triple check with WW2s and jump squats.

Mosey to Snuff Underground where the beats reverberate off the walls and through your bones: OYO 50 mirkins, 75 mountain climbers, 100 flutters.

Then, everyone’s favorite: burpees until the song ends. When will the song end? No one knows.

Mosey back towards the flag for some parking space bear crawl ascending mirkins all the way to 10. Run it back with lunges and ascending squats.

COT with gratitude for another day in this Creation.

Welcome to Smuggler and Drill Bit, glad to have you out. “Felt like wrestling practice.” Will take that as a compliment. No apologies for the names – anytime PAX wants to name an FNG the Q sheet is open and everyone is free to lead.

Strong work today, powered by the beats. Playlist on Slack.

  • Skate Punks

Bob Burnquist, Daewon Song and Rodney Mullen bombed downhill to the secret skatepark (IYKYK) for a concrete bowl session to the sounds of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2. Mosey back to the flag for a COT.
