The post editor is acting weird on this ancient browser, so please bear with YHC.

Thanks to first-timers Snuff and Termite for coming out. YHC hopes to connect with ya’ll more in the gloom.
Prayers for Pigskin’s friend’s family, Offshore’s friend’s family, Boberry’s friend’s family.
The next 3rd F is September 14th. We’ll have a “normal” 3rd F that night – Q sheet is open!
YHC proposes that we start reading “Life Together” by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and plan to start discussing on September 28th. The book is available on Amazon for under $3 and a pdf is available online for free. It’s about 120 pages. Stay tuned for the September 28th reading assignment.

Another Trick for Faceplant’s Pony

Six PAX posted to WDog, and the dude in the dreadlock cap holding the pink dogwood down so it wouldn’t fly away (pictured above, on the left) claims he saw something like this:
The THANG: COP with SSHs, IWs, DQs, APDs, American Hammers, Merkins IC.
41.67% of a Robbie Miller WOD workout (minus the rucking, too):
Coupons were arranged at the end of the field. PAX performed 6 Burpees, each time jumping over the coupon. Then 6 4-count Mountain Climbers. Then 6 Coupon Get Ups. Mosey to the rusty cage for 6 Pull Ups. End of Round 1.
PAX completed 5 rounds bro-code style, so all PAX have a Robbie Miller WOD number of 5. The goal is to work up to 12.
NMS: YHC was inspired by Faceplant’s excitement for monthly challenges, and so thought this one would be good to introduce. This version included Pull Ups which were welcome practice for the Murph. There are several variants of the workout on the web, but YHC remembers the Get Ups and Burpees with the jump most vividly. The PAX did a version of this workout at the end of the Grow Ruck back in 2019. The Cadre didn’t know about the Rusty Cage and we weren’t about to tell him, so we did Rucksack Squat and Press instead (YHC thinks). Most versions of the Robbie Miller WOD start and end with a 3 mile ruck. During the Grow Ruck, we started with a 15 hour ruck.
YHC saw the dude in the dreadlock cap watching the PAX toward the end of the beatdown. He took a break from the tree to watch YHC load the extra coupons in the car, then got back to anchoring the tree, and YHC got the pic on the way out. Need to EH next time.
PAX put in a solid effort today. YHC enjoyed the mumble chatter in between the rusty cage and the field. Hitchhiker recommends Yewon for Korean food.
Announcements: Convergence Saturday at Dogpile at 7. Additional announcements on Slack.

513 Is an Impostor
The stimulus-funded weather station at GHS reported temps in the 50s, 4 PAX, 4 KBs, a ruck plate, and several attempted Attila Impressions. The signal was lost as the PAX moseyed around the back of the school, so the dog walkers picked it up from there:
COP: SSH, DQ, Helicopter, Cherry Pickers, Merkins, maybe something else
Donkey Bells: Inspired by the Mann Date crew, in turn inspired by HoneyDo, 20 DKs, lunge across the parking lot, then 20 Upright Rows, 20 Sit and Presses, 20 Swings. Repeato 3x.
Jack Webbs: Halos (1x) and Lawnmower Pulls (4x)
Soul Crusher: 15 Skull Crushers followed by 15 Pullovers. Repeato 2x or 3x? Either way, it was brutal.
KB Bear Crawl and Burpees
20 Squat and Presses, 20 American Hammers, 20 Curls. Repeato 2x.
NMS: A 513 number on the Circus text chain volunteered to Q in Attila’s absence but never showed. Turns out it is an impostor who has been playing along. Attila keyed in Lighthouse’s number wrong, missing one digit.
As YHC types, Byproduct is trying to pick her up with his collection of blue diamonds and White Deer is, well, delivering the full White Deer Experience.
Announcements:
July 4th convergence on July 3rd, get your F3 RVA Passport in July/August, July 31st F3 night at the Diamond, July 6th 3rd F on Zoom. If you just get your Passport, you won’t need to keep track of all the announcements.

Four Ring Circus
The new stimulus-funded weather station at Godwin detected a new red kettlebell and also reported the following Circus:
White Deer led a COP with SSHs, DQs, Helicopters, Scorpion Kicks, Merkins, LBCs, APDs.
Lighthouse took charge and led the PAX through 2 laps of the bus loop, adding an exercise at each corner. 15 reps each. Exercises were: Lawnmower Pulls, Curls, Sit and Presses, Overhead Pulls, Sumo Squats, Swings, American Hammers, and Halos.
Offshore lined the PAX up in consecutive parking spaces for a Conveyor Belt with Right Snatches, Left Snatches, and Figure 8s while the timer lunged to the front space.
COT: Chum Bucket took us out.
Announcements: 3rd F on Tuesday, HDHH on Wednesday
NMS: YHC got a new kettlebell, which frees up a 30-lb ruck plate for another PAX – handles on both sides! ByProduct has first dibs, which could free up a 25-lb kettlebell for a new Circus participant. Maybe that 513 guy could join the PAX.

Crazy Talk
A PAX of two met on Zoom for 3rd F. To account for over preparing last time, YHC underprepared.
YHC had prepared a bit of trivia about some of the “bizarre” stories of the Bible. Florence’s knowledge of the scriptures is stunning. It was great to get to know him a bit better. Where two or more are gathered…
Put the next 3rd F on your calendar: June 22nd at 8pm on Zoom.
Any ideas for multi-access/HyFlex gatherings? Send them my way. Perhaps we could take this 3rd F on the road and have a blend of in-person and virtual attendance.

Welcome Penny
The traffic on the trails is picking up. Gomer and Saab hit the roads at blazing speeds. Helix and YHC went Buttermilk to TPot to Northbank, picking up Sippy and K9 Penny there. The PAX reconvened at the parking lot. YHC bets Penny will fit right in with Peeta, Sally, Parker, and the other F3 K9s.
The mayor is still missing – the PAX hopes TYA’s heals quickly.

Mayorless Sunday
Six PAX with a collective 16 legs took to the trails. The route was Buttermilk to Belle Isle, around the east end, to Northbank. At about the new Northbank connector, YHC and Sippy paused and noted we hadn’t seen Anthrax and FNG Mike for a bit. We wondered if they had taken the “hikers” trail when we took the “bikers” switchback and they might be ahead of us. We turned back and didn’t find them, then turned around and headed to the parking lot. Cars were still there, but no PAX. After backtracking again, we still didn’t find them, then returned to the parking lot to find the cars gone. They had returned via Texas Beach!
It was great to chat with Sippy this morning about various and sundry topics. Otherwise it was a quiet day on the trails – YHC hopes everyone is saving up for the convergence at Belle Isle tomorrow.

Do You Understand the Words that Are Coming Out of My Mouth?
Disclaimer:
The purpose of this AO is to push the PAX along their journey in developing the 3rd F – Faith. We recognize that PAX are at their own place on the journey and proceed at their own pace. PAX are encouraged to share. It is not required to share (wise men learn by listening), but there is a requirement to allow others to share. What is shared in this 3rd F stays with the 3rd F; it is a COT. None of the PAX has a monopoly on the truth, though we are all truth seekers. It is fine to disagree. If there are not disagreements, then we are probably doing it wrong. This 3rd F event:
- Is free of charge,
- Is a discussion based on the Christian faith, but is open to all men,
- Is peer led by volunteer Qs who may or may not be certified/ordained.
The Thang:
The PAX discussed connections between the Tower of Babel, where God/the gods scattered everyone to speak different languages and Pentecost, where people of different backgrounds could understand one another. What was different? Also, YHC took the discussion “off the rails” in typical fashion.
Prayers for Tobit’s grandmother and family. Great to have EF Hutton back in the gloom and on Zoom!

Wet Stuff
Quiet day on the trails, even though it was 70 and sunny. PAX went Northbank to T Pot to Buttermilk. Helix went unseen from the stairs to the parking lot. Hikers on the trail were sharing a legend, passed on to TYA and YHC, that he jumped over a copperhead at the trail head. A wet substance fell from the sky that the PAX did not recognize – perhaps it could be useful.
All PAX reconvened at ET’s to trade recipes and share stories of child rearing.

Attila’s Day Off
6 PAX posted for the Circus for the first Offshore Q in a while.
The Thang. COP: SSH x20, IW x20, Russian Soldier x10, DQ x10, Scorpion Kicks x10. No Merkins?!
Mosey to the bus loop for a set of 20 curls OYO. Then lunge with a twist, squirt, leak, and side of mumblechatter down the bus lane. Mosey to the front parking lot for a Lindsay with Merkin Rows and Sit and Presses. Take a lap around the parking lot in between sets. Mosey back to the bus loop for a set of American Hammers IC, then lunge (with a twist and all the other stuff) halfway back along the bus lane. Mosey back to the VSF for 10 snatches on each arm (as if the Merkin Rows weren’t enough). Then a few minutes of Boat/Canoe, including raising the sail and rowing.
NMS. Excellent work by the PAX today. I believe it was Gumbo who introduced “The Toughest Lindsay”. Homer led the PAX throughout, and endured calls to increase his kettlebell weight. Attila and White Deer were at each other like siblings as usual
