  • Whatever Offshore Says

YHC suggested Texas Beach, so PAX went about 1/2 mile past the pumphouse, through a small hole in the fence, under the train (Sally’s highlight), back to Texas Beach, then Northbank to Belle Isle, around the west end like old times, and back on Buttermilk. Then YHC and TYA headed to ET’s.

  • Heading Home to Finish the Other Half of that Fish Taco Movie

… and TYA iced his face. The Thang: Northbank to Mayo Bridge (Sally’s highlight), along the flood wall to Buttermilk.

TYA, Saab, and YHC convened at ET’s aftewards.

  • Five Is the Perfect Number

… for Partner Jerkins, a Garbage Plate innovation.

The Thang: Mosey around the school. Some runners couldn’t keep up so they went to the track for the rest of the time. COP IC: SSH x20, IW x20, DQ x10, Helicopters x10, Merkins x10, Pop Squats x15, Stand on One Foot and Bounce the Imaginary Ball x10 each foot.

Mosey to the playground for Jack Webbs with Pull-ups and 5-PAX Partner Jerkins. After round 4, the Partner Jerkins were modified to a hold for a count to the Jack Webb-prescribed number.

Mosey to the blacktop for Jack Webbs with WW IIs and Reverse Crunches, a Chum Bucket innovation. PAX ran across the blacktop in between sets, Reverse Plank for the six. Time was up after round 8. Back to the VF for COT.

NMS: YHC made the longer trip for a Friday bootcamp after jumping on the Q sheet last night, thinking that a solo post might be a possibility. What if only one other PAX posted – how to do Partner Jerkins? The parking lot quickly filled with 8 cars, but then YHC learned that some of the PAX were planning to skip the bootcamp and run – as if there aren’t enough Friday running AOs! Anyhow, that left 5, which is the perfect number for Partner Jerkins.

Way to work today, PAX. It was great to meet Buzzkill and see Doozy, Bullseye, and Probation. It was good to catch up with the runners afterward, too.

A wise PAX reminded us take some time to honor mothers past, present, and future.

  • Some Additions to the F3 RVA Lore

The route today was Forest Hill loop + spur both ways for about 7 miles. Saab ran the roads.

Welcome to FNG Anthrax, caregiver of Peeta the K9. Apparently, joining F3 was only ~5 years in the making. He shares an office with TYA. Some alternate names were discussed at ET’s.

Sally and Peeta took good care of each other and the PAX. They made sure that all squirrels were off the ground and properly placed in a tree somewhere.

At ET’s, the PAX regaled each other with timeless stories like, “I once ate cheese with an apple” and, “My review of upper Shirley vineyards? They drank wine and I don’t care for it so I didn’t.”

Prayers for a full and speedy recovery for EF Hutton.

  • Sunrise Service on the Trails

Buttermilk to TPot to Northbank. LabRat turned around at Reedy Creek to ensure that he didn’t do more than 4. Does that count? Who cares?!

The bridge near Maymont has been replaced, so the detour is gone.

It was great catching up (and keeping up) with Helix. Happy Easter and Spring Break!

  • TYA for the Gold

The plan was for ~6 mile jaunt along the access road. Somehow, that turned into 9 miles. PAX went every which way on Belle Isle, crossed T-Pot in the thunderstorm, and came back Riverside.

It was great to have Lola back out, with his new ride. Mumblechatter was solid – we couldn’t have fit it all in with just 6 miles.

At the end TYA pulled ahead of the PAX and left them in the dust. Not sure what that other backblast is about…. Perhaps it was a birthday boost.

  • We Ran

That’s it, we ran. Buttermilk to Belle Isle, around the isle, to Northbank. We didn’t see anyone else until at least mile 4. The trails were in great shape. Helix and Sippy pushed the other PAX on the last half. It was great to be with the other PAX.

  • Who Are You?

A four PAX reunited over Zoom for some 3rd F. Thankfully, none had used the notes that YHC posted for last time, because that was the basis for our discussion.

The Headline Analyzer says that “Big Gulp and Hot Fries” is a better headline than “Who Are You?”, but what does it know? Probably some algorithmic bias in the AI…

The 3rd F continues Tuesday, December 8th at 8pm. SYITG!

  • You Know What Time It Is

A four PAX donned the armor and locked shields for a disclaimer and The Thang bundled in a COT.

The plan is to continue the 3rd F biweekly at 8pm on Tuesdays on Zoom at least through the end of the year. Check Slack or PM for the link.

The next 3rd F is Tuesday, September 29th at 8pm on Zoom. Mark your calendars – Gypsy with the Q!

  • 3rd F Hot Potato

The Q for the 3rd F opened up at about 4pm, but 5 PAX posted to show that a meaningful 3rd F hot potato can be had.

There seemed to be a theme in the PAX names of single-word compound names. The next 3rd F is open to all PAX.

Prayers for YHC’s mother-in-law as she undergoes surgery today.

The next 3rd F is on Zoom on Tuesday, July 21st at 8pm. The Q is open!

The plan is to continue meeting virtually biweekly through August 18th, then transition to in-person meetings in each nano-region. YHC’s church is a resource with discussion materials and questions, so Qing is no more difficult than a regular beatdown.
