There once was TYA from Nantucket….

A lucky 13 came out for this week’s edition of Spider Run. Though the routes were a little light, the mumble chatter afterwards was not. Various assortment of topics of value and range.

The route exited the bat cave and across the river. 4s headed upstream and retraced their route around Butte. 5s/6s headed downstream and worked some elevation up and then back down to Riverside; exploring some new roads in the process.

    YHC took us out.

  • Grateful

East on Grove to Rosneath head North. 5s/6s do a loop around Bramley Park and check the tap at Starr Hill and make their way back to Broad. Head west and take Lafayette to Grove and circle the block around the AO.

Anthrax took us out. Oyster is grateful for a fast back blast today.

    Announcements: Convergence tomorrow at 730

  • Prometheus

A sweet 16 count of runners came out for prime running weather. Some with long sleeve, some with short sleeve, as the cooler temps require some adjustment.

A classic route around the lake, through the woods and up the hill. Down Ziontown and various routes back to the AO.

Fun was had by all, including extensive talk around fires, firewood, and the various means for storing firewood.

    Marv took us out.

Announcements: Convergence this weekend. See slack for details.

  • Time Is Not Linear

Yeah, the routes today were a bit complex. The Pax came equipped with maps and readiness to explore roads otherwise not trodden. Cooler weather hopefully signal prime running conditions going forward.

    Byproduct took us out.

  • Toga Party

The Pax were giddy with excitement due to the allure of a possible Toga sighting. Unfortunately, it was just me.

Following an audible sigh of disappointment, we did the COP and then worked our way around the AO. 11s in the bus loop, Lindsays on the bench and wall, 4-corners around the tracks, a triple check, another 4-corners, and some Mary.

YHC took us out with a call to action for the Pax to reach out to someone that they have not heard from in a while to check in.

  • Like Turning Your Underwear Inside Out

After YHC called the route, Upchuck commented that it was essentially a reverse of the route I called in a prior week. About a mile in, I realized he was correct. After a while, these routes blur together. Apologies!

Up the big hill and then up the bigger hill to cut through the dark trail that smells like fruit loops. Pick up Three Chopt to Patterson and head south on your respective turns coming down Towana through campus.

Great conversation in my group. I am sure the others ran in silence.

  • Man Sandwich

Six – the perfect number for Dora and Triple Check. However, Handshake swooped in and made it seven. At least good for mumble chatter that one.

A little COP and mosey down the hill with some roving Lindsays. Jump Squats and Box Cutters.

Finish on Overlook. Every ending is another beginning, such as a cumulative Red Barchetta down the cup-du-sac.

Finish it off with 11s back to the AO and some quick Mary to harden those abs.

YHC took us out. The BB title refers to a flanking maneuver around Handshake during COP.

    Coffee was great per usual.

  • In Remembrance

Sixteen of the finest Pax anywhere came out to get the job done.

Mosey to the sea of asphalt for COP. There were an assortment of exercises including SSH, cherry pickers, Don Quixote, etc.

Number off into groups of three and off to the bus loop. Team one did step ups and essentric down-steps. Team two, the pacers, did 11’s (Bulgarian squats, Derkins). Team three did Lindsays (donkey kicks, box cutters). Everyone rotated through the three challenges.

Round 2 – Stair climbs, 3×8 jerkins (timer), and lunge walk.

BTTW and dualing chicken peckers followed by some Mary before launching into some Broga.

YHC took us out with a moment of silence.

  • Mary Mumford Duck Blind

Trees down along the route, including a couple at the AO. One hit the new arbor and turned it into a well camo’d hunting blind.

Another simple quadrilateral , with Broad St as an eastbound thoroughfare. There was admiration of the new development and luxury lodging along the route.

    YHC took us out.

  • Context Round 2

A cool dozen failed to find cool weather as they embarked up the hills and through the woods.

TYA took us out with v2.0 of his COT regarding context. Thank you TYA for your pursuit of perfection!
