  • On the Fly

An unbalenced numerical 11 Pax unloaded 9 blocks from the truck and off we went. COP in the park, some mobile Lindsays (Softball APDs and Carolina Dry Docks) making our way downhill to Overlook. Triple Check with partner 1 running to the tree on the horizon and partner 2 performs 100 curls, 200 squats, 300 flutter kicks.

Continue down Overlook for a triple check – partner 1 bear craws across the cul-du-sac and back, partner 2 planks with a block on the back, and partner 3 performs an elbow plank.

Carry the blocks back to the AO with Monkey Bumpers and Overhead Presses along the way.

  • Experimenting with Pizza Barefoot

15 runners -or at least we started with 15 runners – embraced the pollen and cooler temps for some miles.

Off we went around the lake, over the trail and ascending University Dr. A quick turn on the parkway and an immediate exit on Lakewood takes us to Ziontown. We then connected with University again to Gaymont and survey the First Watch AO. All was well.

4s head back on Westham to Glen to College to the trail/lake combo. 5s/6s drop down to Westham Station and the bat cave with 6s taking a detour down and up Ross.

A lucky 7 emerged from the end of Spring Break, equipped with plenty of Easter candy to tackle all that was in store for them. According to the Easter Bunny, the following may have happened.

Mosey over to 3rd Pres for COP. Report overhead flickering light to the appropriate Pax. So noted.

Over to the back parking lot for indigenous people bear crawl. The pax at the end does 5 burpees, runs to catch up, taps the new 6, and takes point at the front. Somehow Fudd found us and joined mid-exercise.

Over to the third parking lot where we picked up blocks for a modified 4-corners. Curls, overhead presses, APDs with blocks, squats, swings, and tricep extensions.

    LBCs

Triple Check – Partner 1 runs with the block, partner 2 does block bench, and partner 3 does elbow plank.

    Repeat the 4-corners exercise.

Replace blocks in their wooded enclave and perform Lindsays the way home – box cutters and carolina dry-docks.

American Hammers and Flutter Kicks to finish up.

  • Tell me more about the third row

Eight by run, ruck, or bike came out to see if the pollen abated with the recent rain. Spoiler alert: No, its still strong.

Today’s route was a scenic stroll down Park Ave in the Fan and back on Floyd.

  • You two are so cute….

A dirty dozen came to run or walk this morning. The route was out the batcave to Westham Station, ascend the hill to River to pick up Westham Pkwy. A right on Glen Pkwy to Keller and then pick up Westhampton Way and UR Drive to the AO. That takes you to 3.12 miles, which is close enough for this group to π.

6s do that route a second time. 4s/5s do the ascent up to the main entrance and down the other side and back to the AO. 4s do it once. 5s do it twice.

  • Froot Loops

Eighteen. Yes, eighteen runners in the gloom set out for this crossover of winter and spring. Cool breezes and birds chirping.

Off to the lake and up by the baseball field to pick up the Robin’s Center and climb snake hill. A left on Edgehill takes us into the abyss. Pick up Three Chopt and a right on Patterson with an immediate left on Register Pkwy. Pick up W Franklin with a right.

4s turn right on Charles, 5s on Bevridge, 6s on Bevridge to Dustin to Maple. Everyone heads west on Patterson and returns the way the came in via Bandy and Boatwright.

    Marv took us out.

The air on Edgehill was fragrant with the smell of Froot Loops. Its a wonderful smell reminescent of youth, but in this case it was the smell of the Sassafras tree emerging from winter.

  • Put it on the Underhill account

A crazy 10 cranked it to 11 on 2/11. After performing an abbreviated rendition of Fletch in about six minutes, off we went to the first circle for COP. Hilarity ensured and we dropped down to the amphitheater.

Starting at the top, perform 18 box cutters for each level you are on. Decrease by one per step until the first pax member reaches the bottom. Everyone stops and returns up the steps with incrementing monkey humpers.

    Off to the rusty cage for pulls ups. Round 1 = 10, round 2 = 8, and round 3 = 6.

Over to the penny stage for some dora with the blocks. 100 behind the head tricep extensions while the timer does 10 4-count american hammers, 200 curls with a time of 20 v-ups, and 300 bench with a time of 30 2-count flutter kicks.

Touch a tree – 10 trees and block swings, 8 trees with squats with the block, and 6 trees with elbow plank.

A ball was found and we tossed it as a hot potato with the recipient of the ball calling an exercise. We finished just in time to return the blocks and head back to the VSF.

Yes, Fletch was the center of today’s entertainment. We quickly circulated through a list of the classic movies leaving Hitchhiker wondering what we were talking about. Feel free to provide him your favorites via slack.

LM was awesome as always. Never disappointing in food, coffer, or conversation.
