  • Elder Elves

Some launched at 5, others at 530, but everyone enjoyed the cool running weather and clear skies. The route was simple and straightforward, perfect for the new Pax and out oft owners.

Head west on Grove, north on Bunting/Chantilly, east on Monument, and pick your southbound street to come back to Grove and head west back to the AO. The return markers were Cleveland for the 4s, Davis for the 5s, and Allen for the 6s.

    Vamos took us out.

It was great to see a couple of new Richmond based Pax as well as Vamos from Cincinnati.

The title of the backblast comes from TYAs red with red ensemble. He looked like a festive elf who spent too much time in the North pole. It turns out the the red with red was better than what he was going to wear that his M vetoed.

  • Taco Sunday

On Sunday, we made a meal for the people at breaking bread. We prepared a meal of tacos with a bunch of nutritional toppings, including lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. The tacos consisted of beef, beans, and Spanish rice. We also made a batch of brownies, along with buying lemonade. Cooking took several hours, but it was great family bonding time, along with eye opening to the needs of others.

  • Amateur Astronomers

Moonlit and unseasonably warm, this group of four embarked on this week’s edition of Punisher.

Short mosey to the from for COP. Another short mosey to the side of the school for Jack Webb. 1:4:8 ratio of merkins, air presses, and arm circles with reps of 1-10.

Off to the bus loop for a set os 11s – Rocky Balboa on one side, lunge to the other for 4-count American Hammers, and lunge back.

Back to the soccer field for Dora in the soft dirt. Partner 1 runs the perimeter of the field. Partner 2 performs 100 dips, 200 Carolina Dry-docks, and 300 2-count flutter kicks.

Off to the other side of the school and assume a spot on the wall in people’s chair while the Pax works down the line each completing 30 donkey kicks. 20 decline merkins on you own then BTTW for a line of 10 chicken peckers.

Chum Bucket concluded with some yoga and then took us out.

Announcements: The next Punisher happy hour will be late February.

  • We have coffee too

A chatty ocho, many sportin’ new First Watch shirts, came out for this week’s edition of First Watch. According to the Liger in the trees, the following may have happened.

Grab a block and off to triangle park. COP and assorted exercises while Handshake warmed up his wit and sarcasm at a certain Pax member.

Find a partner for Doras – 100 behind the head tricep extensions while the timer does 10 4-count American Hammers; 200 curls with the timer doing 20 v-ups, and 300 bench press with the time doing 30 2-count flutter kicks.

    Three rounds of 20 PLTs

Off to the corner of the triangle. Partner 1 murder bunnies down the field while partner 2 does Bernie, burpee broad jump, and lunges to the middle and back to partner 1- swapping each time.

Lindsays with the blocks – squats and swings. Place the blocks in the truck and Handshake took us out.

  • Front ways and backing in

According to the owl who dispatched Saab (who was not seen except by one witness) and watched the Pax back in some parking spaces and front ways for others, here is what happened.

Over to the bat cave and up Ridgeway, Fairway, Iris to the churches. Pick up Grove and take a left on Granite. 4s and 6s head west on Patterson, while 5s make a detour north of Patterson and over to Libbie to pick up Patterson.

Everyone heads west on Patterson with 4s/5s turning on Honaker and dropping down Boatwright to then come in the main entrance. 6s head to Westham Pkwy to Lakewood and then come around the baseball field to the VSF.

    Marv took us out.

  • Higher Ground

Drizzle? Not so much. Rather a steady rain shower, but warmer weather eased the suck. Routes were posted on Slack in advance and offered scenery and some simple turns. However, it would appear that some of these roads are very flat and lack a cap, forcing the Pax to higher ground.

Props to Singer who launched early and crushed bonus miles!

    YHC took us out.

  • What the Fox?

An elite 8 ventured out under the halo of a ringed moon. The air was cool and crisp. Mumble chatter aplenty, inversely proportional to the hills which were also many. We saw the spectacular decorations and lights across the street from Ronnie’s, some ventured north of Patterson, and others hit Starbucks.

The title comes from a giant fox, or miniature coyote, that emerged while YHC and Bleeder were catching up post run. The fox quickly spotted us and retreated back to the shadows.

    Bleeder took us out.

    Announcements:

    • See Slack for routes
    • Frozen Triangle – HC on Slack so that they can get a head count
    • Bear Creek 10 miler – March 12 – sign up

  • Coordinate Your Dress Code

Eleven runner/walkers of the gloom admired the bring moon, cooler conditions, and great road conversation.

4s head north on Commonwealth. 5s/6s head east on Grove and north on Lafayette. Everyone turns left on Fitzhugh, left on Staples Mill, right on Monument, left on Willow Lawn Dr, right on Patterson.

4s/5s turn left on Westview and 6s turn left on Maple. Everyone comes home on Grove.

    Upchuck took us out.

It turns out after further inspection at the end of the run, five of us were wearing the BRR shirt. Coincidence?

  • Crash and Burn

An elite 8 kicked the year off right with a foggy trail run. The weather was spectacular for running, though the trails of Belle Isle were a little muddy. There were a couple of crash and burns with hopefully minimal injury; other than a muddy knee and maybe some interesting park surveillance footage capturing the event.

    Happy New Years!

  • Jerk Store

The title was in reference to a comeback TYA had been working on for the interim week and homage to the classic Seinfeld episode.

West on Grove and a right on Bunting to Chantilly. Take a right on Monument and find your southbound cutover based on distance. 4s at Cleveland, 5s at Robinson, and 6s at Allen. Take to Grove and come on home.

    YHC took us out.
