  • Doing Wilson’s Wife staring Wilson in the Face

8 HIMs showed up this morning at The Woodshed to a rare, once in a lifetime sighting of The Wilson himself! Per his request, running was kept to a minimum and went heavy on coupon work and abs. According to Wilson’s Wife, this is how it went down:

Warm up mosey and various IC exercises.

COP 1: Deck of Cards workout with suits representing curls, overhead press, coupon dips, chest press for quantity shown, face cards x 15. Performed 3 cards and then ran to other end and rolled dice to perform quantity shown of ab exercises. Performed 3 rolls and returned to deck of cards. Increased the stakes as we gambled calling higher/lower, name the suit, over/under, etc and added penalty of 3 burpees, plus added HRM and Firecracker to the burpees to make them progressively harder. Continued until time called.

Numbers, Names, Announcements- BOS continues, 7/4 Convergence, Prayers – None spoken

Great to have Wilson out this morning! Here’s to hoping he shows back up within the next 6-8 months! Have a great one fellas!

  • Yip, Yip, Hooray!

To what may seem like a runaway victory for the Yips over the Patriot Games, YHC made sure there was some skin in the game as we pranced around Timberwolf throwing discs at chains. According to the YouTube videos Cookie watched, here’s what happened…

split into two teams, then matched up 1v1. Each match tee’d off from a different hole and we played all 7 holes. Yips won 4 out of 5 matches, but fun was had by all. Advantage #1 goes to Yips

Side note – where I grew up, if you tell someone you’re “going to smoke them” it means you’re going to beat them badly at whatever competition awaits. I don’t know what “going to smoke you” means in Indiana, but it doesn’t mean that…

Next up: long drive. There’s 57,600 square feet of real estate on a football field, and Rudy managed to miss all of it. Cookie wasted no time showing that he is a quick learner, and threw a bomb. Advantage #2 Yips

Next Up: closest to the pin. Like lemmings, we all went to the same spot except one brave soul who dared to cross the track and actually attempt to hit the rack. I cant remember if it was 3 Doors or Boberry, but somebody put some english on the biscuit and got it close to the hole. Advantage Patriot Games

With a few minutes to spare, we horsed around with laps around the track hanging in the balance.

NEXT WEEK: Boys of Summer Cup (Ultimate Football) – just like the President’s Cup, the regular season doesn’t matter, this is for all the bragging rights.

Prayers – Fandango’s family as he lays his father to rest and celebrating Pad Thai’s new niece.

    Convergence GRIDIRON 7/4 1am

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • I’m sure all have already taken place by now.

    PRAYERS/WINS

    • Fandango’s father passed away. Sent/sending you and your family love/prayers, Man.
    • Safe travels for Cable Guy and Paw Patrol.
  • Polka’s Origination Story

WeirdSnake and 17 others, including an FNG, conquered another Weird Al kettlebell setlist.

It started with and “Eat It” Warmup where we were reminded no one from the group has ever taken dance lessons. The bad dancing included SSH, Jazzercises, IW, and more Jazzercises. “The Saga Begins” with some ab work and our first of two Star Wars inspired songs. We then grabbed the bell during “Canadian Idiot” and rotated through American Hammers with Bell and WW2s.

Time to move so the circle shifted to the bus loop for a Taylor Swift inspired “TMZ (Parody of “You Belong to me“) where we did rotating sets of Curls and Hi-Pulls (20).

Triple check time with squats, sit’ n press and timer lunging to the wall and returning any way they prefer. Song to kick it off is “Living With a Hernia” and moved to “Polka Party“, “I Love Rocky Road” and ended with “A Complicated Song”(Parody of “Complicated“)”

(The Song’s Just) Six Words Long“, got us back to You vs You and a rotation of 6 burpees and 6 overhead presses (2 times). And the burpee warmup prepared us for “Yoda” and a burpee every time the word “Yoda” was repeated. Roughly 40 burpees in that song.

We moseyed back to the flag and during “Foil” rotated through three sets of Swings and Triceps (15 each).

The finale was “Ode to a Superhero (Parody of “Piano Man”)” as we warmed down with some abs work, stretching, deadman hangs and helicopters.

We then learned more about Mr. Rogers 2.0, and he was properly named “Polka”. Polka is starting to learn the Accordian and became a Weird Al fan after Mr. Rogers brought home some Weird Al tunes after a Weird Snake workout in 2025.

Weird Snake, helping grow the Weird Al fandom, one fan at a time. Who’s next??

  • June Trail Exploration Part Deux

Three respectful gentlemen posted with three 40 somethings on this perfect Tuesday morning for another addition of the Raider Run/Ruck. Because of what YHC and BAM! began last week, both the ruckers and runners choose to do some trail exploration this week.

    The Routes:

The ruckers found themselves wondering endlessly through the trails around Atlee’s stadium. The runners found their way around the lake of Rutland and then followed a trail to nowhere followed by a trail to a locked gate followed by looping through a retirement community for somewhere between 4 and 5 miles.

COT: Numberarama, Name-O-Rama, Announcements, Trout took us out.

NMS: Like last week, it is always great exploring trails when it is light outside. BAM! and YHC have not checked off Honey Meadows and Atlee along with Rutland. Looks like next week is Giles.

    Announcements:

    • July 4 convergence – Gridiron – 7 AM
    • 2nd F Happy Hour will be held on a Thursday soon likely at Wong’s Tacos.

    Gotta Run!

  • No 6 Today

Despite Gypsy protestations, there was no 6 to return to today. 5 rabbits and 1 newly-trimmed dog got after it this week at WTH. After a little stretching at the local Wells Fargo, we headed to Kroger for 4 corners, prostitute style. After explaining what prostitute style is, and what a prostitute is, to Banjo (he’s young people, give him a break), we went to work. 10 Merkins at the 1st corner, 15 Jump Squats at the 2nd, 20 WWIIs at the 3rd and 25 SSHs at the final corner. Thinking there was limited time to complete the final round, we headed back to PMS. Discovering that this group runs like the freakin’ wind, we had extra time and stopped along the way to complete the exercises.

BTTF for some Mary and Q training. Nice work introducing exercises and counting. Aaaaand time!

    Names. Numbers.

    Announcements:

-A good rumor really can work wonders.

-4th of July Convergence at Grid Iron. Bring the 2.0s. There will be jugglers, fireworks, a couple food trucks, and an Apache Helicopter for the kiddos to check out – all because of America, heck yeah! 250 baby – let’s go!

-Congratulations on multiple Personal Records set today by Gypsy. You are a champion. Your new phone knows it and so do we.

Prayers for safe travels for our brothers vacationing and traveling for work. YHC took us out.

Moleskin: It’s natural to take for granted anything that is stable in our lives. F3 is a rock in my life and it’s there, whether I fart sack or not. But it’s only there because other men set their alarms, pry themselves out of bed, work around spouse’s and children’s morning routines, drive somewhere, plan Qs, encourage one another and lead prayers – and all by 6:15am. When I do stop to think about it, I’m deeply grateful for all of the Pax grinding daily to make this thing happen. You are all appreciated.

  • Going thru the motions

A trio of broga’s best enjoyed the ideal conditions for a bit stretching in the way to early hours of the morning. Hips, hammys, shoulders and glutes were emphasized with slow transitions in-between. Savasana was short but sweet. Everyone left feeling mellow and relaxed. Success.

  • Handshake’s Sack

9 gloom ruckers launched at 0500 into Larus park for an hour ruck, while our 10th PAX missed the launch and enjoyed a Triple Respect solo ruck. The PAX equally shared around SANDY during the ruck, our beloved 60# sandbag, but with some very awkward hand-offs, the most awkward being between Nancy and Handshake. Nancy said something about his sack on Handshakes neck and our 1st F Q fired back something about his sack on Nancy’s mom. You had to be there… 😆 After a full loop through Larus with plenty of hills we exited onto Sabot school property and then rucked beyond to Love Hill. Mosey down, Bernie back up, and plank it up review of the F3 Mission, Credo, and five Core Principles. Re-shoulder Sandy and ruck BTTF to discover PIGSKIN awaiting. Thanks for letting me lead brothers. Yours AYE! ~DTH

  • Smack it up, Flip it, Rub it down

A Sensational Six found the finest prime, manicured real estate in Tuckahoe to enjoy a leisurely beatdown that was rehearsed and played out to perfection. Here is how things went down.

Mosey to Henrico’s smallest park to the lush and pristine turf located on the south end of the park. Salutations and disclaimers were properly detailed with a warm up that included SSH’s, Helis, Jazzercise, Dead Man Hang, Michael Phelps, LBC’s and some light broga. All seemed warm and ready, no need to wander far.

Partner up for a Dora. Timer runs down to the base of Culpepper and returns. 100 merkins, 200 squats, 300 LBC’s.

Triple Check Time. Timer skips a portion of Westham Parkway up to River, running the remainder. Exercises included WWII’s & Pickle Pounders (modify to Monkey Humpers if desired).

Brocode 7’s. Jump Squats and Carolina Dry Docks. Lunge up a portion of Ridge towards River, Bernie Back.

BTTVF for a quick stretch session. Numbers, Names, Announcements and Prayers. YHC took us out.

Events: Deliverance Q next week at FW. Kubota leads the armada across the river to enjoy a romantic sunrise. Bring your own dinghy. 4th of July Convergence at Grid Iron. If you show up on the 5th, you missed it.

NMS: With Deliverance postponed a week due to water levels, Q sheet was open so YHC took advantage to control a leisurely beatdown staying close to home but avoiding the church parking lot. Park was plush and enjoyed by many. Finest Dog park in Tuckahoe. Mumble Chatter was on point as expected. Variety of topics including sleep patterns, travel adventures and a possible sighting of Handshakes towel mistress. Well done fellas. Thank you for the opportunity to lead.

  • Cool Mountain Air

The warm mid June heat wave took a bit of a breather on this comfortably cool Tuesday morning as 10 guys met down at the bottom of UofR for a jaunt/ride around the near west end of RVA.

There’s no doubt, the heat of the summer is going to come roaring back with those 74 degree mornings and 80% humidity, but today we were treated with 60 degree temps and a nice breeze.

Nothing super complicated about this mornings trundle…we all tackled Mt. Henrico.

    No 6s

Handful of 5s headed to the top of the hill and then back down the way we came.

The 4s were out 22:30 and back.

Maybe mention of Bodos hitting the traffic circle, which continues up University Blvd (which is not to be confused for University Dr.).

Good to see everyone out there ITG.
