  • Heart rate pumping at Tunnel Vision

Four of us posted this morning and shared equally in an impressive workout. Borat mentioned his heart rate was as high this morning as the WTH running workout on Wed. So we did alight 🙂

Tater handled the warm up and then headed through the tunnel (5 Burpees as the toll) and on to the tennis courts for 4 Corners (25 WW IIs, 25 Dips, 25 Squats, and 25 Carolina Dry Docks). Added 5 Burpees in the center after every exercise.

Borat took over and brought us to the playground (through the Tunnel with 5 more Burpees), to a triple check of 20 Step Ups, 20 Lunges and 6 Pull Ups.

Blue Moon took over for a mosey back through the Tunnel (a few Burpees on the way and 5 Burpees as you go through the Tunnel), for 11’s on a hill with Mike Tysons and WWIIs.

Banjo brought us back through the Tunnel (5 more Burpees), for 7’s around the parking lot of Hand Release Merkins and Burpees.

Tater finished with 10 Irish Hammers and some stretching.

  • Am I at the right AO?

With no Gypsy and no Lighthouse, I had to question if I was even at the right AO. Then I remembered that one of them is sick and one of them doesn’t like the cold.

Today at Currahee, we had Rabbits, Clydesdales and even a few Turtles (ruckers).

The main route was pump to falcon bridge, up ridgefield, cox to brookmont, around crown crest, pump towards GHS, ridgefield to old prescott and back to GES for 5.3 mi.

The Clydesdales shaved a little off of that route and did a nice and easy 4.2 mi.

As always, I have no clue what those nutty ruckers were up to.

    BTTF for Names. Numbers.

Announcements: Lots of Westhoeians going with Pigskin to the bridge tmrw. We’ll launch from the Food Lion on Patterson at 5:40am. We’re gonna beat the weather, do some good and have lots of fun. If your on the fence, get off of that sucker and come join us!

Salt Lick is still burpeeing like a mad man as he’s almost done with MABA. He knocked out 30 burpees today somehow during this run/ruck.

Dry January is still going, although I haven’t heard much about it. Stay strong fellas!

10th Annual Frozen Triangle CSAUP will be held on 2/7. Launch from Dog Pile at 6am. About 11 mi total and 3 workouts. You can run, ruck, ride a bike, even drive some of it. No judgement. U v U. But if you’ve never done this one, it’s time to give it a go. Come on out!

Thx for letting me lead. Everyone stay safe as the snow storm to end all snow storms rolls through this wkend. And remember to enjoy your non-tooth ache today. SYITG!

  • Backblast posted earlier than Nancy Lopez

When you hit 1000 posts you can post a backblast at your leisure 😛. JK. Love ya Nancy.

Back to this morning —> started with a big loop indian run with caboose doing one burpee and running to front. Circle up in culdesac near dog walk path for stretching and warmups.

COP 1: All leg triple check. Squats, Lunges, runner to top of of hill (near Wilson’s) and does five fire crackers.

COP 2: Mosey to rock pile. Grab a coupon. Circle up. Pax selects exercise and then runs to green electrical box and back. Standard stuff like curls, squats, overhead press, chest press, etc.

COP 3: One more triple check near playground. Stepups and Pullups. Runner to the bars for jerkins and back.

Announcement: Frozen Triangle in two weeks.

    Stay safe this weekend.

    Heist out.

  • Playground Games

As everyone knows, I’m always one for games. So today’s beatdown leaned heavy into fun, confusion, and mumble chatter.

We kicked things off the right way with a solid stretch, because stretching is important. Six PAX circled up for a waterfall of burpees, each man adding one at a time until we hit 100 total. There was notableresistance from the peanut gallery (👀 Upchuck), but once we found our rhythm, things moved fast. By the time we hit around 50, we were cruising and wrapped up strong at 100.

Then it was on to the main event with a twist. I brought along two 15-lb weights (my wife’s… don’t tell her), and the rule was simple: the weights go everywhere. We alternated carries, and while I’m pretty sure not everyone touched them equally… that’s okay. That’s what the PAX is for pick up the slack when needed.

Weights in hand, we moseyed over to Stewart Ave for one of my favorite chaos workouts:
Run down the street, and every vehicle that passes dictates the exercise.

I didn’t do a great job explaining—or remembering—the exercises, but it went something like this:

    • SUV → 5 Merkins
    • Pickup truck → 10 Merkins
    • Crossover → Partner up for Boo-Yah Merkins
    • Silly / odd vehicle (including a boat) → 15 Monkey Humpers

There were a lot of crossovers, plenty of confusion, and even more complaining—but the PAX rolled with it. We ran Stewart one way, then back the other, adjusting rules on the fly as the chaos unfolded.

From there, we headed back to the playground blacktop for a Triple Check:

    • Round 1: Weighted lunges / Flutter Kicks / WWII sit-ups
    • Round 2: Run / Flutter Kicks / WWII sit-ups
    • Round 3: Weighted lunges again / Flutter Kicks / WWII sit-ups

While grinding through the Triple Check, we mixed in the Question of the Day—fittingly car-related: What was your first car?
Highlights included Senior Frog’s Pontiac LeMans and Upchuck’s absolute unit of a Chevy Caprice battleship.

We finished by heading back to the flag for a full round of Mary—mostly so Upchuck could make sure he really got his work in.

Closed out with prayer, lifting up those less fortunate—especially with cold weather coming—and a reminder to keep them in mind. I also shared that my father was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, and I truly appreciate the prayers and support from the PAX.

Strong mumble chatter, strong work, and a great way to start the day. Appreciate every one of you—this is exactly what sets the tone right.

Last announcement, pigskin is heading to the bridge this weekend and he could always use extra folks for Saturday it’s a great opportunity and a moving experience if you’ve never been.

  • Gumbo with a Coffee Chaser

15 kettlebell and/or hammer wielding studs poured into the CM parking lot knowing they not what they were in for entirely but knowing it was a first course of Gumbo followed by a coffee chaser. YHC has been reacquainting himself with his kettlebells and the confines of the Circus, and it was great to get back on the Q sheet there. More to come this year!

Mosey – yes move swiftly without your bell – around the bus loop and back to the parking lot for COP, starting with 8 burpees for the 8 sets of knees covered up and not abiding by the SOP protocols. Other exercises included some stretches, some typical non-KB exercises and some questionable, unnamed KB exercises (possibly made up).

    THANG:

Carry your weight to the bus terminal cover and partner up for a Triple Check (NOTE to Ronnie – YHC noticed in COP we had a perfect 15 so we hit the Triple Check first). Runner/Timer had a choice – either wall sit holding your weight for a 60-count or walk your weight, waiter carry style, to the end of the cover and back. Other PAX did sit and press and merkins – again merkins had a choice (I’m a benevolent Q) of offset merkins or merkin pull-throughs or mix and match…just get to work!

Lindsay’s – in Jville’s honor we did Lindsay’s. 30 goblet squats and 10 swings, then carry any way you’d like across the parking lot to the flag, and do 25-15, then 20-20, then 15-25 and then, ouch, 10-30.

Circle up for about 7 minutes of Mary finisher with some weighted flutters, boat and canoe, american hammers and shoulder taps, among others.

Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayers and YHC took us out.

    Announcements:

    • The Bridge is on and Pigskin has the Q and the clown car – this Saturday. Beat the snow and ice and get all 3 F’s in one morning.
    • Frozen Triangle 2/7. Get Ready

YHC is thankful for all the various options of AOs and groups and workouts we have to choose from. Whether we decide to show up to swing some KBs, hit SCCC for an exclusive foursome, get up extra early for some ruck miles or to stand FirstWatch, hit a run AO or whatever the h___ WTH is, or just go to the closes bootcamp – we have options and variety and always welcoming faces and men ready to get after it and motivate each other (again in different ways). It is great to be able to do this and keep things interesting and keep the relationships building. Keep up the great work men. Get to a new or different AO, or like me, return to an AO you haven’t been to in a while and take the Q. Keep pushing!

Thanks, Offshore, for the coffee. Good stuff my friend and great 2nd F. PS – Wegmans did have chicken and milk – phew!

    No More Gumbo For You!

  • Down the Shore, Baby

Snooki’s VQ was a summer beach fantasy in the frigid cold at the Woodshed. After a quick mosey away from the clubhouse and back and some light warmups with a thundering cadence, the gang took a run down to Seaside Heights (or Winterpock Elementary) for some GTL action. Gym, Tan, Laundry – Every. Single. Day!

GTL was worked into some four corners action, LOTN style (since the original Snooki was a bit of a trollop). The G (corner 1) included some LBCs, box cutters, and hammer twists; the T (corner 2) included Muricans, mountain climbers, and shoulder taps; and the L (corner 3) included squats, lunges, and calf raises. Burpees came in at corner 4 for good measure.

After taking care of GTL, we ran to the club(house) for some partying, where we fist pumped (tricep curls) and uppercutted (bicep curls, in honor of when Snooki got punched in the face) with some coupons and threw in some crabwalking and bear crawling for good measure.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Gotham is doing SuperBowl boxes in support of his daughters’ gymnastics, and there is a CSAUP event upcoming on 2/7 with 10ish miles of running/rucking and 3 workouts.

PRAYERS: Excel got a job after months of searching, and continued wishes for everyone’s health and well-being, especially with a nasty winter storm incoming.

I appreciate F3 and all of you, and thank you immensely to the 13 of us that braved the cold for my VQ! (Apologies for the day late BB; needed to regain access.) Keep it up, fellas!

NMS:  Solid numbers out for a surprise jaunt around the neighborhood with coupons. Mumble chatter was strong, most of us overdressed for what turned out to be almost balmy 40 degrees compared to other mornings in the 20’s. Belay and Machismo got in some extra credit miles beforehand and Snuff served up some delicious coffee after while regaling us of his nighttime waffle hunting escapades. You had the be there… Pullups on the mobile bar were accomplished and another fine day at (near) The Forge was fully honored. Thank you permitting me the honor to lead gentlemen. Yours AYE! ~DTH

5 HIMS made it out to Timberwolf this morning for some fun. Was happy to have more than two, like last week. Keeping this AO alive!

We started things off with a lap around the school and then circled up for the warmup. SSH, helicopters, arm circles, merkins, stretches. You know the deal.

Triple check at the benches with 5? I was holding firm to my plan so we made it work. Dips, step ups, runner to the second light post and back.

Mosey to the bus loop for the circuit. 1 lap run around the bus loop, 15 merkins, 20 squats, 25 LBCs. Repeat for 5 laps.

Mosey to the hill for an 11 with WW2s and monkey humpers.

Back to the flag for a minute of holding plank until time expired.

    Numbers. Names.

Prayers for Wildcat and for Doozy’s travels.

Hope everyone gets prepared for snow or maybe more ice now. Get those workouts done in the garage if you have to. Stay safe.

  • Equal Opportunity Check

3 men posted on a cold morning to toss some iron around. YHC had some Tabatha in mind and the PAX went along.

COP – mosey around parking lot, usual exercises.

Tabatha – rotated between upper body, lower body and core exercises.

Numbers, names, Boo Boo took us out.

  • We’ll figure something out.

With no Q on the books and Chaplain already completing 7 workouts today, YHC decided to take the reins and figure something out. Here’s what went down.

Mosey around the parking lot and circle up for warmarama with SSH’s, Helicopters, Arm Circles, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, and WWII’s

Mosey around the perimeter of the church, making stops to perform exercises. We made 2 laps and stopped for HRM’s, Burpees, Hoedowns, Donkey Kicks, Dips, WWII’s, Flutter Kicks, Freddie Mercurys, Shoulder Taps, LBC’s. All exercise were completed in cadence.

Next a quadruple check with Merkins, WWII’s, Monkey Humpers and the runner running down to the end of the parking lot and back.

We finished with APD’s and Heels to Heaven.

Nice work by all the Pax. The only plan was that we kept moving. We had the pleasure of hosting Soul Glo from F3 Nashville. Got his name due to his hair. He works for the Fed and is in town for work and leaving out tomorrow morning. Prayers for his family in his absence and for safe travels back to Nashville.

    Thanks for letting me lead,

    House Party
