  • Bermuda Triangle

    We were an Indigenous PAX this morning in the hallowed grounds of the Bermuda Triangle. Using the short fence and the poles of the entrance way. I’m sure the PAX is tired of being on the ground as that’s where the majority of our time was spent this morning. Here’s what the Indigenous PAX was doing.

    Warmup

    1 burpee

    Moseyed over to the entrance where the short fence starts and started a long stretch of Indigenous exercises

    The PAX would do chair dips on the short fence as the trailer bear crawls to the front

    Doozy was doing walking lunges in modification

    Next would be incline merkins as the trailer would crab walk to the front

    As we approached the end of the (long) short fence, I thought about moving the PAX to the football field but decided to keep it going. Switched to squats and kept the crab walks.

    Once we reached the end of the short fence we had the poles to deal with

    Chaplain’s Indigenous polesmokers (a staple of the Bermuda Triangle according to Shank) with the trailer doing walking lunges. About halfway we switched to Boo Ya Merkins using the poles. Until we FINALLY reached the end of the Indigenous portion of the morning.

    Next we moved a short distance to a small hill. Take a seat in the middle of the hill and do

    American Hammers x5 double count at each hour around the imaginary clock ( total of 60

    Repeat with x5 LBCs at each hour

    Mosey back to the flag for some stretching, prayer requests, and announcements

    Great to see everyone out this morning, pushing and modifying as needed. Doozy and Florence continue to impress by posting despite injuries.

  • The Void

    As I show up in the gloom I found that I was alone this Tuesday morning!

    Warm Up:

    Side straddle hops, Don quiotes, LBC’s, Hand Release Merkins, helicopters.

    Ran 10 laps around the North and South parking lots

    “BEARMUDA TRIANGLE” ~3 markers ~3Oyds apart in shape of a
    triangle. performed one burpee at first
    marker and bear crawl to 2nd marker, 2
    burpees and bear crawl to 3rd marker, 3
    burpees and bear crawl back to 1st marker.
    Rinse and Repeat x 3.

    Left a bit early got a little lonely 🙂

  • Honk 4 Humping

    5 strong at the eastern edge of the SOJ empire. Here is a brief summary for you viewing pleasure:

    Mosey to the back of the school for Warm Ups:
    SSH’s, Ukranian Soldiers, Arm Circles, Helicopters, Hand Release Merkins, Suzanne Sommers, Freddie Mercuries, Alabama Prom Dates AND High Knees, Butt Kicks, Karaoke, Bernie Sanders, all across the parking lot.

    Exercise One: Ladder of Death
    20 Burpees
    40 HR Merkins
    60 WWII Sit-ups
    80 Jump Squats
    100 Moroccan Night Clubs

    -In between each exercise, run to the dumpster and back.

    Exercise Two: Monkey Humper Ring of Fire – Runner weaves through the row of cones, runs back.

    Exercise Three: Ab Adventure Tour – Ran through various corners of the park, stopping periodically for Ab exercises

  • On the Fly

    Had to make a bootcamp on the fly due to QIC having a last minute scheduling conflict.
    WarmUp: side shoulder hops, Ukrainian soldiers, don Quixote, imperial soldiers, cherry pickers, stretching.

    Mosey to the football field: 11/1

    10 WW2’s run 40 yd 1 Burpee (add 1 burpee subtract 1 WW2, rinse and repeat)

    4 corners

    run 100 yd 20 Smurf jumps

    run 40 yd 30 flutter kicks double count

    run 100 yd 50 LBCs

    run 40 yd 60 side shoulder hops

    Mosey to parking lot, Indigenous pole smokers. PAX in the back does lunges to the front, repeat to the sign. 45yd.

    Squat Jumps and run:

    10 squat jumps run to the gazebo and back (30yd)

    9 squat jumps run to the gazebo and back

    repeat to 1

    Ended with ring of fire: Ab and Chest

    All pax did flutter kicks as one pax did an ab exercise.
    All pax hold plank as one pax did Merkins.
    DONE

    overall, it was a solid workout, and glad we could make it happen. The indigenous pole smokers, first started here by Chaplin are killer, and am already thinking of different variations to implement next time.

  • A Visitor & Semi Truck Crash Land in The Triangle

    A DOUBLE RESPECT PAX from NC and a Truck Driver entered the Dimension of the Bermuda Triangle. The Twilight Zone Host may have observed the following :

    Merkin Jax – Done in a 1:4 ratio : 1 merkin, 4 plank jax, 2 merkins, 8 plank jax, up to 5/20 and all the way back down 

    Mosey to Football Field

    Quarter Pounder – Sprint 25 yards and Do 25 merkins, Bernie Sanders back to start. Sprint 50 yards and do 50 squats, Bernie back to start. Sprint 75 yards and do 75 DOUBLE COUNT Mountain Climbers, Bernie back to start. Sprint 100 yards and do 100 SSH, Bernie back to start.

    4 Corners using Football Field : Exercises were 10 Burpees, 20 HRM’s, 30 Starfish Crunches DOUBLE COUNT, 40 WWII’s

    Mosey to wooden poles by our cars

    Chaplain’s Indigenous Pole Smokers : PAX in back does 5 merkins then runs to the front while other PAX do Pole Smokers. Repeato until all PAX have passed the light post pole.

    Broad Jumps longways across the full length of the court and Repeato back (Make sure form is stellar with deep squats and long jumps)

    Squat Jump Holds (do Squat Jumps counting down from 10 to 1 then hold Al Gore in helix counting down from 10 to 1. Repeato with 9 seconds, 8 seconds etc down to 1 seconds. We finished the 6 second round then time expired.)

    NMMS : Really great surprise to have Big Rig and a DR PAX join us this morning. Big Rig’s office is in Chester and said he was going to hit up the shower at Am Fam Chester location then jet into work. Rap Sheet said he’ll be coming back and forth between Chester and NC every month so he plans to post with us again. It’s incredible and really encouraging how great of shape that he’s in at 60+ years old. My abs hurt!

    It felt good Q’ng for the first time, but I got through it with the support of those around me, adding workouts when my workout didn’t quite make it to the end. I appreciate the suggestions for the next time I Q.

  • Journey to the Far East

    6 strong, including an FNG, at the latest edition of the Bermuda Triangle. Here is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure.

    Mosey to the school basketball court for Warmarama:
    SSH’s, Ukranian Soldiers, Bruce Lee Punches, Apple Bottom Poppers, Shoulder Taps, Alabama Prom Dates, LBC’s
    AND Mario Jumps, Bernie Sanders, Karoake (x 2), Lunge Walk, Appalachian Lunge Walk all across the court.

    Back to the park for Exercise One:

    Indigenous People’s Pole Smokers: PAX do Pole Smokers, Man in the back breaks off and does 5 Merkins, then runs to the front. Worked our way to the parking lot.

    Exercise Two: Man Harmers – 10 SSH’s, Forward Straddle Hops across parking lot, 20 SSH’s, repeat pattern up to 70

    To the Football field for Exercise Three:
    Bear Crawl to the 50, then crab walk to the End Zone. On the return, Lt. Dans and Broad Jumps.

    Exercise Four: Triple Check. Run length of football field and back, Hand Release Merkins, Jump Squats

    Back to the flag for one minute of Monkey Humpers.

    Final thoughts. It was great welcoming Flyhalf to the group. Flyhalf is a Rugby player. His position: Flyhalf. That’s how we do it ’round these parts. I enjoyed posting at Bermuda Triangle for the first time – great AO with lots of areas to work in. Excited to see this thing grow and serve the Chester area.

    To introduce our new AO THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE so we had to start with a “BEARMUDA TRIANGLE” ~3 markers ~3Oyds apart in shape of a triangle. Pax performs one burpee at first
    marker and bear crawls to 2nd marker, 2
    burpees and bear crawl to 3rd marker, 3
    burpees and bear crawl back to 1st marker.
    Rinse and Repeat x 3. Named Bearmuda
    Triangle as it has been known to
    mysteriously lose some pax along the way

    Indian Run to the football field & complete 2 Laps

    100 yard field marked at 20 yard
    increments. Perform 10 Merkins, 1 Burpee
    (11’s) at the 20, sprint the remaining 90
    yards. Recover jog back to the 40. Perform
    9 Merkins, 2 Burpees, sprint the remaining
    80 yards, recover jog to the 60. Repeat until
    all 100 yards and 11’s have been
    completed. Then repeat back to the beginning. Plank/core exercise until
    remaining PAX complete

    Pax Ran three laps around the perimeter of the football field, Plank for the six

    On to the bleachers, 20 dip, 20 LBC, 20 incline merkins, Count down to plank position

    Hot potatoed to Florence which finished off with 4 corners on the football field:
    • 25 merkins
    • 25 jump squats
    • 2 count flutter kicks
    • 25 side straddle hops
