  • Slow Day

5 runners and 3 ruckers braved the humidity to get their days started the right way. For the runners, it was a somewhat slower than usual day, and YHC audibled from his planned route to get in about four miles on the Farmhouse Loop. Meanwhile, the ruckers, lost in conversation or perhaps Giles, were a bit late returning. Numbers, names, an Emoji dash for his phone, and then Emoji took us out.

Phonics reminded all of us about the upcoming Pickleball tournament at Batteu, and Beat It will be doing a pool training workout in just a few weeks.

  • Dead Ends with Friends

Clown cars from SOJ and WestHoe doubled the home team.  Each set out on different paths.

    Here’s where:

    • R on Honey Meadows and continue to dead end
    • Reverso and left on Harvest Honey, quick loop of Waxcomb Pl
    • Continue Harvest Honey, left on Orchard Meadow to deadish end

    MOLESKIN

YHC loves it when a plan comes together.  The plan was to find several dead ends.  Everyone did that, thereabout.  WestHoe Takeover week continues.

  • Women Last Longer

On this fine 70s* and sunny morning, five runners earned their walk breaks with hill repeats while one rucker conversed with himself. Numbers, names, and then Yardsale took us out. Phonics reminded everyone that RAMM Gears was happening this Friday for those interested.

The hill repeats were painful as they always are, but the walk breaks–an opportunity to cool off and converse–were welcome. YHC, as politically appropriate relative to Hanover County and the vocal Pax members, ensured each runner was only required to run each hill repeat according to his ability and was allowed to take each walk break only according to his need. Runners of the world, unite!

*70s referring to the dew point.

  • It’s All Fun or Games

Four runners enjoyed some fun or games. Congratulations are in order for Phonix and the Trail Mix as they spun their records, high tempo track lap after high tempo track lap, to produce two hits. Opus and YHC need a bit more work in the studio. Meanwhile, ruckers rucked for 45 minutes, except for Corn Beef. After numbers and names, Yardsale took us out. Please keep your brothers and their families in your prayers.

  • Raider Trail Run

In a somewhat new annual tradition, YHC led the PAX on a trail run hitting some rarely used, usually dark trails on the Raider Run’s earliest sunrise of the year. YHC always enjoys the trails as a change of pace, and it was an added bonus to meet Trail Mix. Be strong! Corned Beef took us out.

  • I’m the Q, but I Don’t Know the Streets

A dirty dozen (12!!) men of The North (ok, 10 of The North and 2 Travelers) stood forth at the latest edition of the Raider Run. Conditions remained a steady 70 and sunny. According to the state trooper on overwatch, the following might have happened:

5s – BroCode Style. Run the Atlee HS/MS/ES Metroplex loop. Then, left onto Atlee, cross the railroad bridge, left onto Combs, Oakham, Colvincrest, Hughesland, Crestfield, Combs, Atlee, and BTTVSF.

Ruckers. Go out. Ruck. Return. Several wearing 50 pounds. Nice. T-claps to the “extra 50 and over 50” group (50 extra pounds and over 50 years old). Studs.

Numbers, names, and Opus took us out with a reminder about looking out for others, especially on mental health issues.

    Announcements:

June 6 – 80th Anniversary of D-Day Ruck. 7:00 p.m. Starts at Palani Drive (Restaurant) on Libbie. 9 miles, or roughly the distance from Utah Beach to St. Mere-Eglise.

On the topic of WWII and Normandy, we’ll have a 100th birthday celebration workout for my father on August 21. First Watch. 5:00 a.m.

    June 22 – 2.0 workout at Atlee. 7:00 a.m. start.

Also, June 22 – New AO starting at Groin Park (ok, Goyne Park) in Chester. See State Farm or Posh for start time.

History Footnote: June 22 also is the day Germany invaded the Soviet Union in 1941.

Summer Tour continues. Plan your travels. And, do not hesitate to pass around some good rumors about EF Hutton’s scoring system. There were a few solid old wives tales shared this morning.

Prayer Request: let’s keep our pal Fudd, his sister, and his whole family in our prayers. Her breast cancer has returned, this time on her spine. She and the family all have a tough road ahead, and we should be there supporting them every step.

NMS: Super good to return to Atlee and The North (apologies to Canada) today. Nice to catch up with Hash and hear how his college and career activities have played out for the past few years. Also good to chat with Phonics and Anchovy. Nice to meet Trail Mix, current title holder of F3RVA’s Deepest Baritone, and nice to see so many F3 veterans. There was chatter about pulling AO’s together on the occasional Saturday so guys can catch up. This is worth a discussion. Might be fun.

FWIW, SIX state troopers having an intense meeting by the soda machine at the Wawa on Atlee Station after the workout. YHC assumes they were investigating reports of a Smoke Fest on Combs.

    UpChuck spits the bit.

  • Emotion always wins

Two walkers, one of which was still extremely sore from Monday’s Memorial Day convergence beatdown, met in the front of Atlee High School on this Tuesday. After walking was determined to be the exercise of the morning, they both took the 1.5 lap around the Atlee/Chickahominy/Cool Spring Forest loop. This was exactly the workout YHC needed.

    NMS

YHC pulls into the Atlee parking lot to see no other DaVillians. He then sees a white car making a U-Turn along Atlee Station, then pulling into the parking lot. It appears that DaVille had a visitor. It was Full Nelson who was made the journey to DaVille. Mumblechatter basically revolved around how in politics, emotion always wins.

Thanks for making the trip up north Full Nelson. Hope you can make the trip again soon when we have larger numbers.

    Gotta Run!

  • Consenting Adults

Two runners and three ruckers, beat the fart sack on a comfortable Davillian morning. After the ruckers rucked and the runners ran, No Idea took us out. Nothing needs to be added about the two consenting adults planning their assignation.

  • Muggy Tuesday

2 Ruckers and a Runner met at Atlee HS to get a little exercise. Opus ran while Yard Sale and No Idea rucked. It was good to have No Idea back to catch up on life. We met back at Atlee at 6:15. Numberama, Namarama and Opus took us out with a prayer. SYITG

  • Raider Return

Four men, two starting at 5:00 and two starting at 5:30 hit the roads for a combination of rucking, walking, and just a touch of running for YHC. 5:30 starters covered 2-2.5 miles through Giles. After numbers and names, No Idea took us out.

It was great to get out there on a Tuesday morning for I think only the second time this year to catch up with Corned Beef. It’s always good to see Yardsale as well. It was even better that No Idea could get back out to join us after life had thrown a few curveballs his way.
