  • Half way there

2 regulars decided to run rather than Ruck this morning, the route was from BWES through JRHS cross Robious into River Downs, turn left up the hill turn right on River Downs turn right on Robious BTTF

    NMS:

According to Big Data today is 50 Q’s for Doozy, so half way to YHCs goal of 100 for the year. It was a good time to go a little deeper than just the surface with Singer this morning and YHC is glad we had that time.

  • Just YHC and Andy Stanley

YHC landed at River Run this morning knowing that Doublemint would not be making an appearance but hoping to see Chef Boyardee (DR from CA).

At 5:30 and without a soul in sight YHC grabbed the earpods and weight vest and set out on the Roller Coaster. An Andy Stanley pod cast was found and gave YHC much to ponder along the way. The discussion this morning was on the political divide in this country and how if we could move from the far Right or far Left more to the middle (not to move our political views) but to hear and reason with those of the opposite view we would be far better off as a country and things might actually get done. He sited a ton of scripture (more than YHC can recall) but some of the main points were Loving your neighbor, serving not being served and having ears to hear truth.

  • Two Up, Two Down

A pair of studs posted to Bettie Weaver ES to pound some pavement; here’s how it went – more or less:

4 mi : Up the Twin Team hill, right on E Brigstock, at Netherfield 180* and BTTF

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

NMMS: Always great to run with Wedding Singer – that *%#! hill is better with company

    Make it a great one!

  • Weight for it ….

Two respect dudes of various weight classes posted to Bettie Weaver ES for a ruck by the river. Here’s how it went:

Strap on packs/weight vests; BWES to Robious Landing boat ramp to JRHS Swamp to Robius and BTTF.

Numbers, names and YHC took us out.

    Make it a great one!

  • Seriously, it’s just a walk?

2 grumpy old men and 1 know it all 13 year old took to the mean streets of North Chesterfield to pound the pavement on an OG Rollercoaster Ruck route.

Leave BWES turn right on Robious turn left on River Downs, left on Queens Grant, Right on Royal Crest, back onto River Downs and BTTF

    NMS:

Posey is not used to being woke up at such an hour and while still an early riser for a teenager this was a shock to the system. He will get more used to it as the summer rolls on. Always good to get out with Doublemint and solve the worlds problems or at least point them out.

  • Powderham Style

Three O-ish Gs rolled up to Bettie Weaver for some roadwork, and here’s how it went:

4 mi: up Twin Team, right on Ellesmere, left around the Powderham loop, left on Ellesmere to E Brigstock, Mt Hill loop and BTTF.

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

NMMS: it was great to have Wedding Singer out with us pushing through while he’s on the mend.

  • River Ruck

2 Brightly colored highlighters dawned their head lamps (set to red beam) and headed out to see if they could make a loop through Salisbury. 5:30 at BWES with packs on, head out and up Twin Team turn onto E Brigstock, Right on Mt Hill, Left on E Brigstock and back home.

Somewhere around 3 miles in 50ish minutes.

Time to head over to Starbucks and meet the guys for some 2nd F and 3rd F.

    NMS:

Small dogs and deer don’t like the red head lamp.

  • River Run Duo

Two gentlemen with a newfound common bond, launched from BWES for today’s River Run. Not knowing who or how many would show up, YHC had a couple of different options planned. Since it was just two, neither of those options held true so we wandered through Tarrington. Route was something like this for around 4.5 miles.

    Route

    • Left on James River
    • Right on Riverton
    • Left on Welby
    • Right on Chatwell
    • Right on Henlow
    • Right on Wilcot
    • Right on Ashwell
    • Right on Powderham
    • Left on Twin Team
    • Right to the baseball fields, by the stadium to a right on James River
    • BTTVSF

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

    Moleskin

Good catching up with Doozy today. Seems like all my social conversations always end up with baseball and today was no different. Hope to see your son on the field some time soon.

Always good to get back to the old homestead. Glad the SOJ crew is keeping it rolling.

See ya somewhere else this week.

    Splinter

  • River Ruck

Two old guys decided to saunter down to the river today; according to the Riverton neighborhood wathc, here’s how it went, more or less:

Suit up with weight vests and lights, then mosey from Bettie Weaver ES down to the Robious Landing boat ramp, back up to the James River HS stadium and out to Robious, turn left and BTTF.

Numbers, names and YHC took us out.

NMMS: It’s always great to log some miles with Doozy, and we were able to join Fliorence, DTH, Fresh Prince and Florence for the tail end of their coffeeteria aftwerword.

    Make it a great one!

    Doublemint

  • Heads Ruck, Tails Run

2 Crusty old curmudgeons made their way to River Run for a coin flip on whether to do a Ruck or a Run this AM. A Ruck was determined but with one vest and two HIM a run was had. Terrington with all its rolling hills was the route with an extra run up Twin Team at the end just to get a value add for the cost of doing business. 101 combined years worth of the do’s and don’ts to talk about from life
