  • F’You I won’t do what ya tell me

3 Rage Against the Machine ragers and YHC came out of the Gloom to run the hills around BWES this morning.

YHC called the SOJ 5 fingers route and away we went. The route was River Downs to the stop sign take a left up the big hill, turn around to the stop sign take a right and another right at the next cul de sac up and back. Around to Twin Team up and down cross Robious and up and down the two Cul de Sacs on the right

YHC did not see the others the rest of the time and found out later that they didn’t take the left at the first stop sign so YHC was heading back out before they came back.

YHC had 5.15 on the GPS

Doesn’t really matter where you run as long as you run, way to push guys

  • Mount Hill Route and Back

Five locals attended River Run for a non-river involved run. Routes were up Twin Team, down Brigstock, add Mount Hill Drive loop back to Brigstock, and continue down Brigstock until 22-24 minutes, return to start.

Thanks for continuing support of River Run. Pleasure was discussed in the avoidance of the 3:00 AM downpour, that would have been rough. Onward and upward my friends.

  • River Run volume 134

Seven locals attended River Run for a little (or long) jog through the streets of Midlothian. As Doozy presented, the route was chosen: Roller coaster. Otherwise if you felt compelled, Doozy provided a 10 mile route which all but himself politely declined.

The gaggle of Chaps made a strong appearance, leaving the fours in the dust at the hill. Chap’s going to have his hands full trying to keep the kiddos pace pretty soon. Lone Wolf, Bullseye and YHC puttered around for 42 minutes in varying paces but managed to log 4 miles.

Walking COT to end, trying out new things.

Quickly, the 10 year convergence was a sight to behold, brought back a lot of memories to see everyone at one event. Thanks to those who put it on. Congrats to Rosie overtaking the lead for our region, well deserved, and to Gomer for his services.

  • 4 or 5 Finger Death Punch

6 running enthusiasts hit the streets of the Bettie Weaver/James River HS Complex for the latest rendition of River Run. The following is a very brief summary for your viewing pleasure.

Off the main road, complete 4 or 5 out and backs (fingers). Left past the High School, turn around at Robious and back. Straight into Robious Landing Park – run to the river and loop through the parking lot and back. Left into Tarrington – straight until the road ends at a roundabout; circle back. Left on Forgot Name of Road, turn around at the end of the cul-de-sac and back. 5 milers added in the road directly across from the start – run to the end and run back. Mileage seemed a bit short so we added on a loop around the school at the end. Bullseye and Wedding Singer ran up to Robious and back.

Final Thoughts: Had a great time running with my 2.0’s and the other PAX. It is very dark in Robious Landing park and headlamps are recommended – luckily we had Doozy lighting the way. Nice cool weather made for a great morning.

  • They did run this far

9 Early risers ready for a river run, rumbled out of the fart sack to hit the road. The route was through JRHS parking lots, right on Robious, left on Winterfield to Independence neighborhood try to get to the stop sign or turn around at 22.5 minutes.

BTTF Numbers / Names Chaplain took us out

    NMS:

SOT is developing some real runners, YHC turned around just shy of the stop sign (2.83 miles) on Founders not expecting to see anyone until we were all back at the flag. To YHC’s surprise a strong group of runners was coming down the hill on Founders. House Party, Lone Wolf, L Woods, Chaplain and Pacer had made it to the 2.5 mile mark and turned around to head BTTF. YHC had miscalculated the milage for the Independence run thinking the 4 mile route would be to the stop sign and back which actually ended up being just over 5 miles

  • Mount Hill Run (Late)

Some dudes showed up and ran, YHC forgot to post it but never too late.

Route – up twin team and down brigstock, out and back for 4, 5 and maybe 6. 4s added Mount Hill loop on the return.

Apologies, just realized this morning that I forgot to post this. I know some of our pax like their stats. Good run this (that) morning, Honey Do preparing for the Blue Ridge, Hutton on the tour I believe.

  • Three Sloggers

YHC thought it might be a low turnout due to the preceding weekend’s Homegrown race (great job by the way), but with minutes to spare a couple cars came racing in and off we went.

Route – the flattest running route from Bettie you can find – to Robious Landing, around the loop, back to Bettie and around the bus loop. Two times over for around 3.8 miles.

Thanks to Elwood and Lone Wolf for making it out. Lone Wolf has been crushing it after a multi-year absence until last Monday. Way to go. Great to run with them both as we all had a similar speed this morning. YHC had thought about another route but with the slightly achy bones and a couple dudes expressing their introduction back to running, we kept it nice, flat and sloggin through the morning humidity. -Singer

  • Intervals to start the week

9 showed up for the WestHoe takeover of River Run this week. Once Big Rig and Boberry returned from their pre-run, off we went.

Left out of the parking lot down to Robius Landing Park. Circle around the lot and then head back out. Turn off at James River High School and head over to the track for intervals. Run 200M at race pace and followed by 200M cool down. Continue this repetition until time called. Slow mosey back to the flag.

    Announcements
Welcome back Lone Wolf! He has not posted in a long time but bumping into Orange Crush pushed him to get back out in the gloom.
Homegrown Half this weekend. See Slack for details.

Thanks for letting me lead! And, for indulging my change up to run intervals this morning.

  • Now that’s a hill

1 intrepid travelers from various parts of RVA and 1 DR PAX from Houston met at 5:30 for this weeks River Run. YHC wanted to stay true to the name of the AO and to hit Twin Team so the route was a down and up that hit both. Miles ranged from 4-5 miles with modifications. Can neither the confirm nor deny the accuracy of public footpaths and parks used in the making of this route. Great to see everyone this morning. Nice run in the swampy conditions. HR derby at NoToll tomorrow. Meet at Robious baseball field.
