  • How long do you need to attend a workout to be counted?

A rowdy crew showed up at Twin Team today. Per usual, the Lounge did not disappoint with good conversation and a bit of exercise mixed in just to make it spicy.

No Q on the sheet today, so a hot potato workout followed

Warmarama – No in cadence counting today. Just complete until the Q says stop.

    • Side Straddle Hops
    • Helicopters
    • Don Quixote’s
    • Ukranian Soldiers
    • LBC’s
    • Merkins

Thang 1: OC – 4 corners: At each corner of the playground, an exercise of 20 is chosen and we rotated through the PAX. 2 rounds completed.

Thang 2: Rosie -Two rounds of The Murph exercises with a lap around the track in between rounds.

Thang 3: Rosie – Wall Sits with a Run in between, rotate down the wall of the school.

DK and Singer left for a golf mid exercise. No doubt, they had enough of this punishing workout!

Thang 4: Cavity Search – Triple Check called with Merkins and WWII’s.

Thang 5: OC – A little bench work: Incline/decline merkins, step ups, dips, crunches.

Post workout musing: DK and Singer left at 5:58 to play golf. After their departure, the group discussed whether they should be counted on the PAX sheet. We agreed that since they stayed for 23+ minutes, they should be counted. They also contributed a good bit of mumble chatter during their time. That counts for something.

Announcements: Homegrown Half coming either August 9 or 16th. Get those running or rucking shoes ready.

    YHC took us out.

Back to the flag for 1 minute of stretching.

    Last Call took us out

Final Thoughts: Burpees? Running? Grass? All frowned upon at the Twin Team Lounge – who knew? Hoping to get off probation status in the near future. Great work by the PAX!
  • Don’t upset Last Call

7 strong showed up for a Doozy of a time at the Lounge. 5:30 a brief explanation of the laid backness of the Lounge and how it may be or may not be more or less than expected but it will be what you need for today.

Mosey to the front of BWES to find dry ground. A little of this and a little of that with some stretches to start us off.

Mosey out of the parking lot and take a right (Last Call is not feeling good about this) to Twin Team. Our task for today is slow and on the go. Starting at the bottom we did 20 squats walked a bit up the hill until YHC said stop did 20 of something else repeto to the top (probably) 5 stops total walk in between. Run back to the bottom at your pace. Repeto again with different exercises

Back to the front of BWES circle up for Man Kill……… Oh this is the Lounge, its a no Burpee / No Man Killer zone (Last Call is walking back towards the circle). Stretches instead, then BTTF.

Numbers / Names. Rosie took us out

    NMS:

YHC hasn’t been at a beat down for a while let alone had the Q. With the empty Q sheet it just seemed like a good idea to add my name. Q’ing at the Lounge is a little different and has a little slower pace.

  • Yacht Rock 2025: They Found the Ramp! Wait is That Oats? Where’s Hall?!

The morning weather was beautiful. There was a bit of light just starting to peak over the James. 5:30am hit, The Doobies (Featuring Michael McDonald) were first up on the playlist. NMM

Fun time today on a beautiful morning. Thanks for coming out fellas. Special shout out to Whitesnake’s mustache that survived the entire beat down!

  • Optional Running

YHC grabbed the Q early this morning with an idea to use some implements that have been taking up space in the car without much use recently. Only 2 other PAX, so we grabbed 3 of the implements of woe – jump rope, and 2 KBs, and made our way to the sidewalk of the newly lit school. That is, of course, after a proper lounge warm up in conversation.

Triple checks served up – KB swings, curls, jump rope x 50 as the timer. We were working so hard we disturbed a frenzy of early morning ants and we were forced to relocate to the front of the school. Next round – squats and press with an optional run around the loop or jump rope as the timer. YHC was the only jumper.

Move to the benches in front for 3 rounds of dips, inclines, step ups, declines, and split squats. Final triple check – longer optional run, around the world and halos. My shoulders are thanking Singer for taking the shorter run on the third round of halos.

A little bit of Mary before the buzzer.

    Announcements

  • Gourgeous

A good looking mixture of runners and loungers hit the pleasant temps awaiting them at Twin Team Lounge. 2 adventurers went out to explore crevasses deep while 3 stayed for a kettlebell for the ages. Here is how things went down for the bellers.

Mosey to the grassy playing fields behind the school for introductions and salutations. Warm up in conversation that included Helicopters, Dead Man Hang, Ukrainian Soldiers, Pigeon right, Pigeon left, more dead man hang and some other stretching. Mosey back around the school to collect the kettle bells.

Wosey to the black top for a triple check. Timer runs the blacktop perimeter with others performing Goblet Squats and WWII’s. Round 2 included stationary timer performing 20 single count lunges with exercises of American Hammers and Lawnmower Pulls.

Mosey to the bus loop for another triple check. Timer runs the bus circle with other performing Squat Thrusts and KB Swings.

Mosey around to the benches for a quick round of step ups, inclined merkins and dips. BTTVF for 1 minute of mary when runners returned for numbers, names, announcements/prayers. YHC took us out.

Prayers for those participating in Century Classic this evening/tomorrow morning. Best of health and good times hanging out in the van.

NMS: Been a minute since KB was called at the Lounge. It was quickly obvious that YHC had no game plan but good mumble chatter between the bellers. Not many reps when Doozy is the timer but good times were had by all. Singer and Bullseye traveled into Tarrington to the River and back up. Based on their return attire, summer humidity is upon us. Great job today fellas. Thank you for the opportunity to join you this morning.

  • Keepin’ it Loungy – but not too Loungy…

5 HIM’s joined YHC for a little tour of Twin Team. YHC’s Q focused on conversation and camaraderie with a bit of fitness mixed in. YHC is happy to report that this objective was achieved.

Warmarama: Walk across the blacktop playground, stretching various body parts as we went.

Thang 1: Bro code 4 corners, 3 rounds. Merkins, Squats, LBC’s.

Thang 2: Triple Check: Run around the bus loop, Side Straddle Hops, APD’s/LBC’s.

Thang 3: Mozey to the benches for some step ups, dips and incline merkins.

All this fitness nonsense was wrapped up with a little Broga. What a beautiful morning to be outside.

Per usual, lots of great mumblechatter and laughter at Twin Team. Names and stories have been withheld to protect the innocent and for fear of (likely) incrementation.

Prayer Requests: DD with a bit o’ skin cancer that will get taken care of. This is the call for all of us to get out and see a dermatologist. LC’s friend who is going through a difficult separation and the life upheaval that comes with this event.

    Announcements: CSAUP

    YHC took us out.

  • Solo but for the Clown Car

YHC was staring at a solo workout when a jeep pulled into the lot with a couple minues to spare. I was happy to have a PAX to join me only to find that the Tarringtonians had rustled up 3 to make a nice even 4 at Twin Team.

Mosey to the back of the school for a warm up and a Dora w/ merkins, Squats and flutter kicks.

Mosey to the benches in front of the school for some bench work with good form – 3 rounds of dips, bulgarian split squats, incline merkins, step ups and derkins. Stay in the bus loop for a Quad check – run the loop, merkins, WWII, Lunges. Wrap up with 5 minutes of rapid fire Mary.

CSAUP coming up in 2 weeks.

Bridge – next Saturday w/ Corned Beef, 5/10 w. Hermie

Screening and panel led by OBT at the Byrd Theater on 4/28 – see Slack or OBT for free tickets for F3 men.

  • Ball > Tire

4 of SOJ’s finest gathered for a hot and humid edition of Twin Team. Coupons are atypical of the Lounge experience………….but we made it work. The following is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure.

Exercise One: Kicked things off with an indigenous people’s run. Man in the back does 2 Power Slam Bobby Hurleys with Medicine Ball. Run and hand the ball off to the person in back of the line, then run to the front. We made our way past the high school to the tennis court area.

Exercise Two: Dora with hanging Knee Raises, Jump Squats, Flutter Kicks. Runner goes to the Transformer and back.

Mosey to the track for Exercise Three: Catch me if you Crab. 100 m Crab Walk. One man totes the medicine ball to the start line – 5 American Hammers. Run back and hand off the ball to the person in the lead. Repeat until all are done.

Exercise 4: Run up and down the Swamp Stadium stairs – plank walk across each section of bleachers. Switch directions and repeat.

Indigenous People run back to Bettie Weaver – same pattern as above.

Exercise 5 – Complete two layups with medicine ball: one on each basket – call an ab exercise for the remaining PAX. YHC had an embarrassing performance with several air balls.

I think we did WWII’s, Flutter Kicks, Crunchy Frogs and something else

Run around the school – stopped for 25 dips on the benches.

Back to the flag and YHC took us out.

Final Thoughts: Training is ramping up for the Century Classic- Boberry and Rosie were up early this morning getting in some miles. Not too late to sign up! Also keep a look out for The Bridge workouts. Strong work by the PAX today- we got in a good workout while keeping things semi-loungy
