  • That is what we love about liberty, we can do what we want!!

The perfect prime number of 7 heeded the announcement for the return of the Lounge back to Twin Team. Conditions were brisk but the mumble chatter was hot. After Rosie got some preseason training in, here is how things went down.

Mosey over to the blacktop for introductions and warm ups in conversation as always. Warmups included Helicopters, DQ’s, Dead Man Hang, Jazzercise, Imperial Walkers, Michael Phelps and other leisurely activities.

Proceed to the corner for a quick 4 corners including 10 merkins?, 20 LBC’s?, 30 Squats, and 40 monkey humpers. That was supposed to be it, but some of the PAX had to go the full 45 minutes.

Mosey across the field down to the track for 2 laps with exercises occurring at each corner. These included lunges, squats, APD’s, carolina dry docks, broga, Lt. Dans among others that can not be named.

Mosey out of the stadium and back to the black top along the road stopping along the way for arm circles and calf raises while traffic passed. Mind the hole by the gate.

Wall worm at the black top. PAX hold peoples chair while 1 person bear crawls across the parking lot and takes new position at the front of the line.

Bit of stretching at the end took us to time.

Numbers, Names, Prayers & Announcements. YHC took us out.

Prayers for current and upcoming travelers, especially OC venturing to the islands for spring break.

Announcements included upcoming Century Classic – get your team ready.

NMS: After a long week, the lounge is the perfect remedy. The exercises may not be perfect but the mumble chatter always is. Good laughs and discussions including Senior Assassin, backyard contractors, AAU basketball and pineapples. Always an eventful morning at the Lounge.

Well done fellas. Appreciate the opportunity to enjoy the morning with friends.

  • Appropriate Acceleration

2 pax in search of a hill were able to find one this morning. Met at BWES, mosey the long way to Twin Team Ln. Plan was a 45 minute run with a warm up then twin team repeats. We did the full hill 4 times. Great training today. We’ve both been putting in some effort into running specific training. Big Rig is gonna kill it in the Roanoke Marathon! Good discussion on when to shoot your shot.

  • Double Digits Not Allowed at the Lounge

6 Southsiders took on Form Friday at TwinTeam. Goals for the day: low reps, good form, keep moving, limit complaints from the Lounge. We were also graced with the triumphant return of Rodeo Clown to the boot camp world after his injury at Twin Team months ago, we avoided the hill and sidewalk so he didn’t have any traumatic flashbacks. Welcome back RC.

After a warm up near the flag we headed off toward JRHS with stops along the way for various exercises – tempo merkins, low and slow Copperhead squats, lunges, and the highlight of the day Slow Count burpees. The PAX were so confused by the exercise Last Call had to watch the demonstration twice to make sure he had it right. A reminder to the Q that double digit burpees was frowned upon at the Lounge kept the first 2 rounds to 4 each.

Travel around the high school with various stops, exercises and mumblechatter. Back to BWES for a few other stops and the benches for the Pigskin favorite Bulgarian Split Squats among other things. Closed out with some Mary and 1 final slow count burpee.

    Announcements:

The Century Classic – coming to an AO near you May 2-3. Find a team, do some running and rucking, have some fun. Details to come.

Rodeo Clown is hiking for Make a Wish and raising funds.

Chili Cook-off at casa de Elle Woods tomorrow 3pm – see slack for info.

The Bridge is back up and running – look for more info about dates from various RVA Qs in the coming months.

Breaking Bread is looking for Qs for March – sign up, take a dinner, make a difference.

  • Pi Day

Empty parking lot, that fart sack was feeling pretty nice a few minutes before YHC arrived at the site. Oh well, solo workout commenced. Couple miles logged, track work at the high school, bleacher runs (new one for YHC), back to Bettie for some additional creative ground and pound. End workout.

The Lounge was lonely today, hope to see more out in the future. Maybe we need a text thread for the locals to generate some buzz on a weekly basis, just a thought. This has worked in other locations. Who’s the site Q anyway?

  • Casual Potatoes

A triumphant trio of F3’s finest chose to end the week strong with a hot potato at SOJ’s most exclusive early morning establishment. Vacant Q sheet matters not as mumble chatter was a plenty. Here is how things went down.

Last Call Q: Mosey around Betty Weaver to ensure no stragglers were coming in hot. None to be seen so circle up at the front of the school for introductions and disclaimers. Conversational Warm Ups included Helis, DQ’s, Imperial Walkers, Ukrainian Soldiers, SSH’s, and Calf Dips on the Curb. Followed up with Triple Check #1 of WWII’s and Squats. Timer runs BTTVF and around the drop off loop.

Wedding Singer Q: Mosey to the rear of the school. Triple Check #2 with Merkins and American Hammers. Timer runs to the end of the blacktop and back.

Rosie Q: Mosey to the playground. Triple Check #3 Flutters and Pull ups (or rendition there of). Timer does 10 lunges (2 count). Mosey BTTVF, avoiding the incoming traffic, for a bit of Mary with heavy ab influence. Hello Dollies, Rosalitas, Suzanne Summers and WWII’s. Numbers, Names, Announcements and Prayers. YHC took us out.

Announcements: Centurian CSAUP coming May 2-3. Routes are being engineered with both run and ruck options. See slack for deets. Prayers to those workers that have recently been released from their employment. Please keep a lookout for other opportunities that become available for these families.

NMS: The Lounge is dusting off the winter blues and prepping for spring rejuvenation. Today’s beatdown was just what YHC was looking for. Casual conversation with a bit of work in between. Topics mostly centered around work, vacations, travel, youth sports and colleges. Great times were had by all and look to see a few more of the lounge regulars return to the velvety embrace in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for the opportunity fellas. Always good to have a few laughs before the dawn.

  • Murph is on the Menu

10 of SOJ’s finest looking fellows were joined by a lost Westhoean to at the velvety smooth confines of the Twin Team Lounge. Doozy went off to log miles while the rest of the PAX were enthused by YHC’s date reminder of this being the last day of the month and traditions need to be upheld so they are not forgotten. Handshake arrives with 24 seconds to spare, here is how things went down.

Short mosey around the drop off circle to collect the tardy El Woods, circle up for introductions and disclaimers. Brief warmarama that included SSH’s, Helis, Dead Man Hang, Fudds Wife, Wilsons Wife, Broga and DQ’s.
    Let us begin the Murph:

Mosey down to James River High School Stadium, 1 lap around the track and back up to Bettie Weaver playground to complete Mile 1 of the Murph. 10 rounds of the following: 10 pull ups, 20 merkins (hand release for some), 30 squats. After each round, run across the field and back. After 6 rounds, YHC modified for time to perform a set of exercises at each end of the field using the opposite playground as well. Still had to cut short due to time, with most of the PAX getting around 8 rounds completed.

Extra Credit was handed out to all participants due to YHC poor time management. Numbers Names Announcements, YHC took us out.

Chili Cook Off at Casa de L Woods in March. See slack for deets.

NMS: YHC took the Q thinking of a loungy style beatdown but Q energy took over with the reminder of the Twin Team Murph tradition being on the last friday of the month. Will utilize both playgrounds in the future to save time. Not much conversation to be had during a Murph as it is truly a burner of a beatdown. Always good to have the Tarrington Clown Car show up and a pleasant surprise for Handshake to visit his juvenile stomping grounds. Thank you fellas for the opportunity to start the weekend off well. Enjoy the weekend however you feel is best. Well done boys.

  • Club Icehouse

    Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayer Requests.

    House Party took us out

Final Thoughts: The gimmick of a double Q did not appear to be strong enough to deter the fartsackers this morning – perhaps the cold and ice was just too strong. But those who made it out appeared to have a great time! Always great to collaborate with House. I think the most interesting mumblechatter was hearing about Rosie’s 8th grade basketball team that also featured Splinter! There has to be some video out there somewhere.

  • 10 years a Q

Q sheet open. 9:00 PM. YHC realized his first Q was Valentines Day week, must have been 2015, at No Toll. Time to resurrect a few things recollected.

Parking lot empty, YHC hoped someone would join the festivities. In comes Rosie and Sanchez, and off we went. YHC knew Sanchez hadn’t experienced the joy of Twin Team yet, the namesake. Warm up at the base (yes of course there was a honeymoon suite) and head up for some LOVE hill. Couple different versions as we made our way to the top – bear crawls, lunges, Ukrainian Soldiers, Bernies. Ring of Fire merkins in between and ring of fire heals to heaven. Mosey back down to the school. 10 pull ups on the bars or whatever you could muster. Double suicide across the basketball courts from the 10 year prior Q. Some abs at the end.

Thanks to the two amigos who joined YHC. Good conversation as we made our way around. The total mileage upon completion was a serendipitous 2.14 miles. Enjoy the holiday, however it is that you do or not celebrate it.

By the way, where’s The Lounge pax at these days?

  • Velvet Handcuffs

The Lounge looked bromantic with just Rosie and DTH doing some loungy lazy latecomer loops in the lot until Salt Lick showed up to make it a perfect Menage A Trois. The trio ambled down to join the hottest Swamp Party of 2025 and found a gaggle of endorphin-driven Draper-lovers making casual conversation as they finished Mile 4. The bootcamp trio joined the pack for a lap, then broke off for a brief warmerama. Triple Check was the obvious choice, with one man joining the Draper-ites for a lap while the other two stayed for variable reps. Each bootcamper got in a total of 4 laps and a ton of reps, then bid farewell to the Birthday Boy and moseyed up to the playground for a Mini Murph Sesh – which consisted of x3 rounds of x5 Pullups + x10 Merkins + x15 Squats. Mosey BTTF.

    COT:

A loungy fun time was had by all. No STD’s were harmed in the making of this intimate gathering. Happy Birthday Don Draper!!! 43 has never looked so young and manscaped. Yours AYE! ~DTH
