  • A bagel free trail run

Five fearless trail runners plus Sally went to to see if the trails were empty. Nobody else on them on Northbank, we had them to ourselves until reaching Belle Isle.

Helix version of social distancing was to just crush the trails and stay well ahead. Pavaratti pulled away at Forest Hill and kept up a brisk pace will the 3 Tuckahoe runners kept it Bro Code. We waiting a few minutes past 7:00 for the ultra-rare Sunday morning Bodos post but alas it was not to be.

Congrats to the Belmonte finishers who normally hold down the Sunday Funday run. Had to have been the best weather ever.

  • No snow but plenty of wind

Eleven eager PAX made their way to Twin Team to look for some snow. A thorough investigation of the AO yielded zero snow on the ground but we found a beatdown on the way:

COP: SSH, 10 Burpees, Don Qs, Helicopters, Merkins, Flutterkicks. Down to track/stadium: DORA of 100 Merkins, 200 Jumpsquats, 300 LBCs.

Stay on field – Bear Crawl width of field, 20 Burpees, Bernie Sanders across. Pickle pounders. Mosey to stadium entrace gazebo: 3 rounds of 30 Donkey Kicks & B2W. Head up to BWES playground – 4 Rounds of 8 Pull-ups & 10 WWIIs.

Back to front of BWES under cover partner up – 2 sets of 30 PLTs. Back to flag, YHC took us out. Prayers for Wild Thing & his family, DTH mission trip, and YHC FIL.

Annoucements: Wild Thing M’s memorial service is tomorrow morning in Daville, see pre-blast. Also Poker at Orange Crush place tomorrow night.

NMS – In order to keep progress on Winter Tour going YHC signed up for Q today. Woke up early in anticipation of ice on car & nasty roads. Instead YHC found himself at AO at 5:10. Luckily Doublemint prepared for the non-existent weather as well and arrived early. Plenty others came in hot right before 5:30 and we were off.

Although there was no snow to be had the wind made this maybe the coldest morning so far in the gloom this winter, at least for YHC. Several PAX members were SOP while others were more covered up, you know who you are. Wilson appeared to be 4-5 layers in under his jacket.

Dora on the field got the pax warmed up. One team needed some help on their math in the Dora, can’t remember who that was. Donkey Kicks under the roof were nice but someone ripped one and blamed it on Cooper.

The more veteran pax members took advantage of their experience on the WWIIs on the playground as they opted for grass instead of the sand or mulch areas. Doublemint had to shake out a ton of sand on the final mosey.

YHC hopes the SOJ pax enjoyed their soft 2 hour school delay.

  • Do not let Handshake play poker

Six strong warriors made their way out to HBR to wonder if anyone grabbed the Q overnight. Hot Potato was announced and we went about our way

Handshake: COP – SHH, Don Qs, Flutterkicks, HRMs, Incorrectly done Scorpion Kicks. Mosey to pullup bar for morning call – 5 Pullups per man while others do 5 Merkins. Jump the fence and commence with a mini-beast of: HRMs, WWIIs, & Squats. Pass Q to YHC

Mosey to PES back lot to find coupons. 35 Overhead presses, run loop. 30 Squats run loop, 20 Sit N Press & loop, 25 Swings. Deposit coupons back and hand over Q to Lighthouse. Down to Heartrbreak Hill.

Run up hill, 5 burpees, back down & 1 burpee. Repeat but 2nd round Bernie up then 3rd round Crab walk up. Boberry gets Q, aka “It’s Bo time…”

Triple Check – Donkey Kicks, Dips, & run up to dugout. Call for time back to flag – 90 seconds of mary. Lighthouse took us out.

NMS – Great to have Loose Goose back out at HBR and some Winter Tour visitors. BB title comes from Handshake trying to trick the pax with a called cumulative burpee beast call of which the PAX was not falling for it. Not much of a poker face on Handshake… Mumblechatter ensued as of whether an All Burpee Beast can be done to which YHC said yes it’s happened at 45MoM, Toga took that Q on a few years ago.

  • Garbage plate is a Gentleman

3 pax defied the weather to take on Punisher: one regular, one semi- regular, and one Punisher Virgin stamping his Winter Tour card. No Q in sight so we set out to give GP a tour:

Cop- SSH, Don Q, imperial walkers, Merkins, flutter kicks.

Over to side wall- 3 sets of 30 Donkey kicks and run to sidewalk 10 Merkins.

Dial up did- block spaces – 10 lunges, 10 Squats, 10 Merkins. Repeato 6 sets. GP- triple check over at Gazebo: bench kicks, Shoulder Taps, run. HD- back to rubber top- 3 sets of 20 WWII & 8 Pull-ups.

Dial-up – lunges around planter boxes. GP- 3 sets of Burpees at soccer goals- 10 for 1st round, down to 5 for sets 2&3.

HD- Curb crawls then back to front of school for dry spot Mary quick audible on APDs as teachers leave to more respectful Flutter kicks. Back to flag.

NMS -YHC was worried he would be solo with Chum out and other on Punisher text chain but Garbage Plate arrived at 5:55 and Dial-up emerged from the rain at 5:58. Good times keeping Hot Potato moving.

We all laughed as we started APDs in the dry cover at the school front but a teacher walked out the front and Garbage Plate immediately transitioned us to a less obtrusive exercise to keep us in the LHES good graces.

  • Lab Rat wants your Jetta

Nine PAX posted to see why YHC made the drive and took the Q at Daville. No theme just stamping my Winter Tour pass but we did have fun:

COP: Invisible Jumprope, Don Qs, Arm Circles, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks. Mosey to bus loop: Lindsay of Merkins & Jump Squats. Run width of circle between. Then head over for triple check against the wall: Donkey Kicks, V-Ups, run field & back. Head over to tennis courts: Broad jump 1st court, crab walk 2nd court, bear crawl 3rd.

Grab a bench next to tennis courts: 3 sets of: 40 benchkicsk & 15 Derkins. Mosey to road: 2 rounds of sprints then WWIIs. Back to the flag then some mary to finish.

NMS – Good to see familiar faces at Daville. Lots of questions by Davillians what YHC was up to taking the Q, but signing up to Q ensures YHC will post in the far flung AOs for the Winter Tour. Lab Rat and Rounders did their best to talk the entire beatdown.

Bulkhead, Fannie Mae, and Spike ran to and back from the AO. YHC wasn’t planning on more Donkey Kicks after last night at Punisher but Carpenter would have been disappointed if those did not end up on the menu. Good to see Trout here at Daville since YHC was certain he was at Punisher last night.

  • Where did Trout go?

6 PAX were unable to lose Jville so we ended up with a prime number 7 after we got started. Instead of pounding some beers we pounded some pickles & more:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Helicopters, Merkins, Reverse Crunches

THE THANG: 2 Burpees per lightpost on side street, Jville joins us, then over to Blacktop: Polar Bear across, 20 merkins, crab walk back. 3 sets of 25 PLTs.

Over to swing set: 3 sets of 10 Chazz Michael Michaels. Over to side of school without doors: 4 rounds of 30 Donkey kicks & 20 Jump squats. Over to benches – 3 sets of 30 dips & 10 Box Jumps.

Head up a block with 5 merkins each light. up and back. then finish with some mary: Pickle pounders, APDs, LBCs, and American Hammers.

NMS – Nice 50 degree temps and strong pax. Rumors from SOJ are that Punisher is a Happy hour workout light on exercise, YHC wanted to dole out a good ground & pound workout. Its been a while since Chazz Michael Michaels came out but PAX enjoyed them.

BB title comes from a winded Q calling for a 20 count from Trout when Trout was not in the PAX. To be fair it was dark and Scrum joined us in the COP so the Q couldn’t see him clearly. YHC considered adding him to the PAX list regardless. YHC was worried about Jville’s mobility with his injured calf but then he proceeded to tear up the beatdown. True to form Chum hurt his shin on the Box Jumps ensuring that one of the Glouchester boys is always on the mend.

  • What is Miserable Jumprope?

6 PAX came out wondering if Q sheet was in fact open. With no official Q at 5:30 we set off to end of track for COP and a Hot potato Q:

COP (Honeydo): Miserable Jumprope (aka Invisible Jumprope), Miserable Burpees, Don Qs, Helicopters, Merkins, Flutterkicks. Pass Q to Lighthouse, which turned out to be big mistake:

Lighthouse Beast – Mini beast with way worse numbers: Round 1- Merkins 20 per stop. Round 2- LBCs 20. Round 3 – 5 Burpees. Pass Q to Handshake, off to Jerkin Gym: 3 sets of 10 Jerkins. Then over to Heartbreak Hill:

Run up, 15 WWIIs, back down then 1 Burpee. Repeat 5 times. Pass Q to Atilla – Over to bleachers for 3 rounds of: 25 Dips & 25 Benchkicks. Then up to parking lot for Triple check of: People’s chair, American Hammers & run.

    Atilla took us out.

NMS – Nothing like creating new exercises when PAX mishears the Qs instructions. Now YHC has to think of what miserable Jumprope would really entail. Some confusion at the start as Wojo was on the Q sheet yesterday at some point but it was blank at 5:15 so technically not a no-show. PAX did learn a lesson as Lighthouse is NOT messing around. A modified beast with 120 merkins in round 1 then burpees. ouch.

Jerkin Gym was the iciest YHC can remember and the benchkicks on the frozen bleachers almost led to a case of frostbitten ass cheeks. Great to have P-Trap back out at HBR, and on his birthday, aye! Great way to start off your 35th year.

  • Hoedown is back in 2020

Sixteen studs came out to the first Hoedown of the decade. With Mid 30s temps and darkness across the AO mosey’d to the front of school for:

COP: SSH, Imperial Walkers, Helicopters, Arm Circles, Merkins, LBCs, & Don Qs. Pass a cold week-old Potato to Splinter. Splinter took us back to the parking lot for 11s: Imperial Squat Walkers & Derkins. Splinter passed Q back to YHC, over to blacktop. 4 Corners: 10 burpees, 20 V-Ups, 30 Merkins, & 40 Jump Squats. 2nd round increase all reps by 5.

Back down to parking lot, quick elbow plank & 20 Pickle Pounders. Then follow the arrows: Crab Walk arrow loop, 3 Hand-release Merkins each arrow. Head over to the flag for Mary: Flutterkicks, Hello Dollys, APDs, Kimchi Twists, American Hammers. YHC took us out.

NMS – Great to have 16 out to start new year. Lots of new faces and old ones we haven’t seen in a while. A Slurpee sighting in the gloom is always a good thing.

YHC was hoping Splinter would be in attendance to pass him the Q without his prior knowledge. He promptly dropped the 11s on us. Backwards running in the pitch black is always a good call. But somehow Gomer Pyle did not hurt himself during the 11s.

Mr Holland was back to form, looks like he back is better. Kimchi Twists are all the rage at hoedown so YHC felt compelled to drop them on the larger pax. Maybe Doozy while take them down SOJ soon.

Prayers for Offshore’s In-Laws. Winter Tour is in full swing. Also YHC has taken the liberty of creating an F3RVA group on Slack. Be on the lookout for invites via email. Other F3 regions are using this to good effect and with new year YHC wanted to give it a try.

  • A run free beatdown

4 PAX came out to CM with 2 of the 4 unable to run. A ground & pound Q was served up of:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Helicopters, Merkins, Flutterkicks. Farmers carry over to shelter area for 5 minutes of fun: partner up then 5 minutes of a given exercise with reps increasing:

Round 1: Burpees starting at 2. Partner Al Gore’ing while waiting.

Round 2: Sit & Press increments of 3. Hold 6 inches while waiting.

Round 3: Merkins increasing by 4. Squats while waiting.

Round 4: KB swings, sets of 5.

Then some Boat & Canoe, 3 sets of 15 Lawnmower pulls. 3 sets of Bicep curls. Some mary to finish us out.

NMS- Jville continues to post with a torn calf muscle. No running today but hopefully enough of a beatdown. Word is Fireman Ed will be joining Circus for a while since he is also running free for January.

  • HP at HBR

A Nifty nine PAX closed out Nineteen in Hot Potato fashion at Heartbreak Ridge. Several Wahoo PAX were tired from the late finish of the Orange bowl but needed a last 2019 Big Data point. Here’s how it went down:

COP: Honeydo – SSH, Don Qs, Arm circles, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks. Hand to Handshake:

Mosey to “Danger Zone” for Triple check – Run loop of PES lot, Merkins, & Kimchi Twists. Hand Q to Seymour- Mosey to Honeysuckle hill for 6 rounds of Bear Crawl up & run down. Hand off to Mr Holland, down to track for shortened Track beast: 1st lap Merkins, 2nd Lap Merkins + WWIIS, 3rd Lap – Merkins, WWIIs, & Burpees (ouch). Attila took us back to flag for 75 secons of mary & COT.

NMS – Good final beatdown of the decade at HBR. Nice to have 9 strong out. YHC has taken the liberty of naming the corner section of PES as the “Danger Zone” with the giant exposed propane tank and low hanging powerlines. Hitchhiker’s Kimchi Twists, after debuting at Hoedown yesterday, made their way to HBR. Will they spread to SOJ and Daville next? Guess we’ll see in 2020.

Mr. Holland pushed the PAX on the 3rd round of the Track Beast with Burpees. Those 3 Laps ate up almost 20 minutes. Good thing Splinter was not here as Mr Holland was not up for sharing the potato.

Squeaker and LinkedIn made the rest of the PAX look slow as usual, but still good to have them out. Bodos drove past Spider Run to get a full body beatdown, always welcome out at F3RVAs brightest AO.

CONVERGENCE tomorrow at The Forge 7:00. Let’s have so many PAX there that DTH cannot try and spring his Cabers on us.
