  • Commentarii Exercitationis Inertis

I wasn’t feeling very well this morning but had already put my name on the Q sheet. Nancy made use of several openings to critique my Q technique. All in all, we had a decent workout if I do say so.

    Run around the school.

Andy Dufresne, helicopters, the Herm worm, wife stretches, hold a squat. Yeah, that’ll do.

20 swings, 15 Romanian deadlifts, 15 goblet squats, repeat 3x

    10 WW3s, 20 chest press, 20 double-count American hammers, repeat 3x

50 calf raises, 20 upright rows, 10 around the worlds (5 each way), repeat 3x

    30 lawnmower pulls (15/side), 15 skull crushers, biceps 21s, repeat 3x

Go around the circle. Each PAX picks an exercise and rep count. We had some repeats (skull crushers, American hammers, curls, upright rows). Hermey brought out 12 merkin pull throughs.

Time called. Names, numbers, announcements. Hot ones wings challenge coming up. Check slack for deets and sign up.

    YHC took us out.

Thanks for coming out and putting in the work.

  • Hunt, Scavenger

This morning, 14 of WWesthoe’s finest gathered with teeming anticipation for a special edition of Spider Run. As directions were starting, YHC was reminded by Upchuck that directions would be false advertising. So rules were stated for today.

    Rules

    • Everyone visit each of the 4 corner entrances to UR (River & UR Drive, River & College, College & Campus, and Campus and UR Drive). Bonus points if new entrances were found.
    • Additionally, the following landmarks needed to be visisted: Robins Center, Boatwright Library, Cannon Memorial Chapel, Jepson Alumni Center. Bonus points for extra landmarks.
    • College Drive between Robins Center and Westhampton Way was out of bounds.
    • 6s couldn’t visit two corners in a row. A landmark must be between each corner.

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

    Moleskine

For over ten years now, YHC has driven by two stately University of Richmond entrances wondering if there was a way to hit all the signs in one run. Rather than plan out a route, a scavenger hunt seemed like the right way to do it.

Thanks to the PAX for the solid showing today. It was one of those days where YHC didn’t want to worry about mileage, so hopefully this was a good distraction from the humidity.

    Official Scorebook:

+100 points to the 6s who took a picture in front of a 5th entrance sign

-100 points to the 6s who admitted to cheating

+100 points to Faceplant who asked what he won. He wins points.

  • 2 men and 8 cinders

Marv and YHC showed up to start the week right. Warm up followed by an Indian Run to get the first set of cinders. Then did a set of squats, ran to the gas station for some murder bunnies, stopped at the light for 5 man makers, then rifle carry down to the parking lot of some ab work, and finally to the subaru for a set of curls. Repeato x 3 more rounds. COT: praise for engagement with family. Now the cinders will go on a tour to Heartbreak, WTH, and the Forge before returning home next Monday

  • River Run v. 125

Two regulars posted, one regular was located out on the roads.

Route – Salisbury to Kingsmill to Stonegate, Ellesmere to Brigstock, golf course for a few holes back onto Salisbury.

Thanks to Doozy for meeting up with YHC, even though some of the latter part of the run was broken up with Fartlicks due primarily to farts themselves. Found Bullseye and puttered around with him for a mile before departing back to the start.
