  • Super Mario Bros

3 plumbers emerged from the gloom and an extra credit pre Lumberyard Ruck & Run to fix’a some’a toilets!!!

This plumber doesn’t recall much but some routines on prickly grounds involving Wet Toilet Seats, Toilet Plungers, some coupon crawl pull throughs, wojo squats, farmers carries, runs and SSH’s that would make Up Chuck overly excited.

  • 5-0 Lay Low

Four guys showed up on this brisk morning ready to put in work and get our pump on. We knocked out a Tabata workout with 6 rounds of 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off, followed by a 200 yard run at the end of each round.

    • Pull-through merkins
    • Curls
    • Plungers
    • Snatch and press
    • Squats
    • WW3

With five minutes to spare, New Kent’s finest rolled through. We’ve got a rule down here in the country if law enforcement shows up during a workout, it’s 10 burpees for everyone.

  • Rent is late, and Dumar’s at the door

Was this the 2nd or 3rd false spring we’ve had? No matter, the rough-hewn men of Old Hundred stand ready to hoist iron in any climate. According to the voyeuristic occupant of an idling county truck, this is what happened:

    Lap around the parking lot.

20 sumo deadlifts, 20 single leg deadlifts (10/leg), 20 APDs, 70 calf raises, repeat 3x

Thanks for joining me today, fellas, and for allowing me to lead you!

  • Scenes from a F3 Workout

Many of you may or may not know, but YHC originally hails from Long Island, where Billy Joel is less of a musician and more of a state-sponsored religion. In honor of his (belated) May 9 birthday, the workout soundtrack was entirely Billy Joel themed.

The gloom began with an Indigenous Peoples Run around the soccer field. The last man in line carried a cinderblock, performed five block squat thrusters, handed the block to the next HIM, then sprinted to the front.

After Warm-a-rama, the pax moved to the playground. The men formed up shoulder to shoulder in plank position and began passing multiple cinderblocks underneath one another down the line. Somewhere during this evolution, YHC noticed a faint smoky smell and occasional tiny sparks coming off the blocks. In hindsight, this should have been interpreted as a warning from the universe. Shortly thereafter, two blocks catastrophically failed under pressure. We did not start the fire, but the cinderblocks may have been considering it.

The workout rolled on into multiple Triple Checks around the playground loop, and then to the basketball court for 11s.

Despite the destruction of government-grade masonry equipment, all men survived, no fingers were lost during plank block transfers, and the pax successfully honored Long Island culture through sweat, confusion, and mild construction debris.

  • Grove? Not today…

8 strong emerged from the misty gloom for the latest edition of Spider Run. It was a relatively light crowd – We had 4 runners, 3 walkers and a biker. The age old Grove Ave run was offered but denied. The runners headed across the bridge and down to the river completing various mileage.

Numberama, namerama and YHC took us out.

Convergence on Memorial Day at 7am. Also Flatline Qing Dogpile this Saturday ahead of his upcoming deployment.

Hitch and his PortaDash app continue to amaze us and even Hitch as its reach grows. The ADA has reached out to him and we wish him good luck in his meeting later this week with a Retail Coalition.

We keep Bleeder’s and Bodos’s families in our prayers and any Pax or family in need of support.

  • Record numbers on the golf course

There was almost enough for two foursomes, a record number for the SCCC. We almost had to get another cart to fit everyone. 5:30 and everyone arrived carrying a wide array of weights. Offshore won with the record weight – fact, no two PAX could pull their weights together to be more than the single 45 LB kettlebell that Offshore brought.

Same routine as always, 6 rounds, two exercises per round, one lap between rounds and two laps to close it out. Hitchhiker did some extra laps at the start and finish to tack on the extra miles, so did OBT.

Solid mumble chatter this morning, even if it was just YHC talking and maybe not everyone was listening, but thank you all for being ears to my stories. My M can only take soo many stories.

Announcements: Memorial day convergence at Dogpile start time is 7 AM.

Prayers: To those families that have loved ones that have taken their lives. There is support out there, it may not be easy to talk about it but know that there are ears to listen and shoulders to lean on.
