  • I’ve Fallen But I Got Up

5 of us posted, 1 of us even had a fall…but he got back up. Now that’s the F3 way. Not how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up.

Warm up, then a mosey to The Tunnel for Bear Crawls with a Merkin at every light. Increase Merkin per light (5 lights).

Mosey to the hill for 7’s (Mike Tyson’s and WWII’s).

Mosey to Retaining Wall/Steps for a series of: 1 Burpee, 10 Dips, and 10 Step Ups, and increase to 2, 20, 20, until we get to 4, 40, 40. 5 Burpees at the top and come back down with: Declining # of Burpees, but 10 Decline Merkins and 10 WWIIs at every step.

Took an Ab Break (125 Ab related exercises…Crunch, American Hammers, WWIs, Side Crunches).

Mosey back through Tunnel with Crawl Bear and Merkin at every light.

Finished at Playground for a round of: Pull-ups, StepUps, Squats, and Incline Merkins.

  • I’m Feeling 22

Whoa! A summer blast of 22 men MITG (Met In the Gloom) most of which joining an all-swim for RAMM Gears, a few of which deciding to jaunt in the 76 degree August morning.

I think I’m most likely the only quasi-routine member that doesn’t do slack. Our work doesn’t do slack, I feel like I have enough communication channels coursing through my mobile phone and F3 slack just misses the cut.

So, ergo, I miss things like the All Swim RAMM Gears, which is kind of a bummer, but I think I’ll ultimately survive with minimal FOMO.

Judging from the STRAVA maps…it looks like you RAMM Gear guys crossed the river and wound your way down river to downtown. (In all transparency, I didn’t look at your map all that closesly, although, I can report that Bodos had his 2nd best time ever on Riverside Drive and also a personal record on Nickel Bridge Sprint…at least, according to STRAVA).

Us runners…the 6 of us who may also not check SLACK, we did a reverso Carrilon. And it was glorious.

Have a terrific weekend everyone. My watch did not record the COT, so if I missed you, text me at 804-539-9711 and I’ll add you. But huge kudos (not to be confused with STRAVA Kudos) to Fudd and Splinter for helping name all 22 guys that were out this morning ITG.

  • Jaunt in the Park

5 Westhoians met at Godwin HS for another round of Currahee. A more svelte Senior Frog, after carb loading last night for today’s run, took off with Pigskin, both carrying weights in each hand, on an unknown route, like the madmen they are. Being more reasonable people, Pinto, Chicharon and myself headed over to Deep Run Park for what turned out to be a challenging run. The humidity didn’t help. And having one head lamp b/w the 3 of us didn’t either. But by 6:15am, after only one fall in the park, the sun was up, we had all made it back to GHS and we were done. Well done men!

    Names.

    Numbers.

Announcements: 2nd F at The Fishing Pig on 8/11 at 12pm.

Prayers: Continued prayers for those traveling and for Charlotte’s family as they mourn and adjust to life after her passing. We also petitioned God to help us think a little less about ourselves today and a little more about those around us.

    Thanks for letting me lead!

  • (Pen)Ultimate Frisbee

Fun continues to be had, so fun must continue. With light fading, we’re running our of time to run around the field chasing an object, but may have to run it back one more time next week…

Side note: If you enjoy sitting on benches in Sri Lanka, Warby has some new feet pics for you.

Team COOKIE – Superhuman Snip + 5 average joes

Team HEIST – Heist, Crabby, Flyboy, Polar Bear, Festivus, Warby, Machismo

Team Cookie scored quickly, but Team Heist bounced right back to tie it up, then the grumbling of the ‘extra man’ began. Traded scores again and HEIST went up 3-2. Here, we decided to sit our extra man, and eventually got to 4-4 I believe.

And then Snip decided that he wasn’t messing around anymore. This KG story sums up what happened:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGVdZ156is4

It was a blur, but what I do remember is it went from 4-4 to 4-9, Pad Thai, Fandango, Da Bear, Posey were catching dimes in the back of the end zone, in the corner, down the middle – all out assault. Team Heist did not have an answer today

Kudos to Team Cookie, great game! Fun was had by all

    • Pull-up Challenge! (Currently at 22)

NMS:  Solid PAX for an exhaustive sweatfest in classic DTH style, but this time with the added pleasure of Senor Frog’s five pound rings, which the PAX noted to be suspiciously lubicated. Probably sloppy seconds from those taint-loving WestHo PAX. Regardless, carrying them for a 45 minute beatdown proved a steady burn for the shoulders. Not much mumble chatter this morning between the rockin tunes and PAX just needing to breath, but the extended coffeerama afterwards was fantastic. We solidified the date for Snuff hosting a 2nd F and Dealer has committed to leading a prolonged river trail ruck as well. We’re getting closer to GTE-74!!! Appreciate you guys permitting me the honor to lead. Yours AYE! ~DTH
